    I purchased the XPremium about a month ago and I do love it. But I really wish it had grips like this new XP 3. I think the seat looks better too. I thought the problem with the seat is that people keep thinking a bigger softer padded seat would be more comfortable when really they need the seat to be smaller and just break in their own seat (butt). Once you ride enough those smaller seat allow you to pedal more comfortable and longer. Lectric just keeps improving on their models. It make a buyer almost slow to purchase because they might be releasing a new and improved model tomorrow! I am still glad I finally bit the bullet and bought the XPremium with all this said. I do think I will get new grips and this new seat. I love the range of my bike. I am a heavy rider at 300 lbs and this bike is great. I am 66years old.

    $999 Lectric 3,0 is awesome! Love the welded rack, elite headlight and Seat-post suspension!! A $277 BLACK FRIDAY FREEBY $200 buys the 4AH upgrade! How much grip does it take to stop with mechanical disc brakes from 28mph while carrying a passenger? 500W/1000W peak at 48V 10AH from 2 more amps in the controller? And a new range of what....?

    • @Milesco
      @Milesco ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, in my experience, there is no discernable performance increase going from the earlier XP generations to the 3.0.
      The improved top gear ratio does help in terms of comfortable pedalling speed and resistance (i.e., it eliminates "ghost pedaling" at high speeds), but as far as I can tell, the overall power output of the motor is the same either way.

      Agree here, just took delivery of my 2 x 2.0's in October spending almost 2500, I guess the bikes are OK but to then get emails and text messages just a few weeks later saying "hey buy the new 3.0 it's better than that old 2.0 you just bought" is pretty shitty. The new edition does address some of my concerns and frustrations with the 2.0 but now I'm completely screwed and cannot afford or justify an upgrade so soon. I reached out to their service team and basically was told "sucks for you" I even offered to buy a bike without a battery and just use my battery apparently this is not an option. If I'm being completely honest here if go with Rad if I had it to do all over again, lectric has a very terrible return policy and I can't help but wonder why...seems pretty clear that Instead of telling potential buyers "hey we have a new version coming soon" they would rather just keep pushing bikes out the door at all costs to avoid any potential temporary lull to the balance sheet.

      Great Question. We have a bit more riding to do before we can definitively say. But we have found Lectric to be very accurate in the past with their range estimates.
      So if you go off of their numbers. It looks like the range all remains the same. 2 extra amps is a small amount. And the rear motor sounded like it was more efficient. So I believe their numbers for the 3.0.

    I may be nitpIcking here but I see that the cable is exposed all the way under the downtube rather than being integrated unside. Not too attractive. Also how is the overall welding? I noted weld marks visible in one or two areas . Of course all that has no bearing on performance, just aesthetics. Comments?

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The issue we have found with internal cables is they are tougher to get to fold without kinking the cable. Aesthetics of course internal looks better.
      As far as welding goes. We have yet to have one of our models crack or break. Also worth remembering that this is a sub $1000 ebike.
      I recommend checking out the Denago Folding 1 or the Aventon Sinch. Those models have some appeal that I think you might be looking for.

Then cycle through the advanced settings to get to setting P08. Turn that from 45 to 100. And your top speed of the bike on throttle only is bumped up to 28 mph.

      I bought my XPremium a month ago and it really is great. I think that mid-drive really makes the difference. I actually pedal around tight u-turns in the road where as I think the X has more unstable feeling trying to do that. Plus the fact that I think the mid-drives are so much quieter than the hub drives. I like to ride on nature trails and I don't think other people appreciate noisy ebikes on the trails. Mine is whisper quiet.

    • @EvanRavitz
      @EvanRavitz ปีที่แล้ว

      Mid Drive uses electricity more efficiently, but stretches the chain. I went from a mid-drive to a hub Drive and stopped having to switch chains every year or so. Also, I'm more confident I can throttle out of a dangerous situation without worrying about my chain slipping.

    • @AZLife007
      @AZLife007 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Update: I went to Lectric Headquarters today. It was a very cool facility and Alex was great to work with. Being able to take unattended test drives in the nearby neighborhoods made all the difference. I took 4 long rides. One on the XPremium, one on the XP 3.0 and two separate rides on the XP 3.0 Step-thru. I was really trying to convince myself that the step-thru was the way to go, but....I loved the natural bike riding feel of the XPremium, along with the quiet and smooth hydraulic brakes. It was a night/day difference from the hub drive motor due to the overall realistic true bike pedaling experience, but in the end, it didn't win out. Unfortunately, it almost felt like I was riding an old Puch moped from the 80's. it just didn't seem to have the same "get up and go" perkiness that the other two had. It had such a heavy feeling and drag to it and wasn't as nimble as the others due to that. As I rode it, I learned how to take better advantage of the power though. The XP 3.0 Step-Thru was next. There was just something about it that felt off from the start. It was very hard to put my finger on what exactly it was, thus why I took two separate test drives on it in-between the others. Possibly it was due to it being "lower to the ground" then the XP 3.0 and also a feeling of the frame just not being as "tight" and "strong". Almost as if the bike was made of two separate halves. The XP 3.0 won out. It just felt the most comfortable overall and it was just as easy to mount, at least for me. Please keep in mind, I'm a total ebike novice and not exactly a spring chicken (56 years old). I only rode one for the first time a year ago (XP 2.0) and haven't ridden one since. Take anything I said above with a grain of salt, as I am not claiming to speak with any authority. The only downfall of the test drives is that the area was all totally flat. I couldn't test out the power of the 500 watt hub-motor on any substantial inclines like I would have to deal with living 30 minutes North of the Lectric facility. I'd love to test out another ebike brand with a 750 watt hub-motor, but having the ebike manufacture right "down the road" might provide a better overall value add! Thanks, Lectric!

Yes it PEAKS AT 1100, but that is not constant. The suspension seat is $69 for the 2.0 but not for the Lite, it is $99. And when you get a long range 2.0 the seat is not in option on there. I do not like being taking for a fool. The Lite should be $300 compared to the higher trims that have specials which is not really a special, because everything in this world has a high to extreme mark ups.

      Not really sure what you're complaining about? They did upgrades and kept the price the same. They did not advertise a price cut.

    Still? no rear suspension! Not that much of an upgrade.

      Trying to maintain that $999 price point makes it hard to incorporate rear suspension.
      We think the upgrades to the motor and drivetrain are quite the upgrades.

    You say the battery is backwards-compatible with the XP and XP 2.0, but KevCentral says otherwise* -- that the battery on the 3.0 is *_not_* compatible with prior XP versions. Who's right?

      We reached out to Lectric to confirm. The batteries are backwards compatible. The issue, Lectric said the issue was all reviewers got pre-production models. And this issue was changed on production models.
      Feel free to reach out to Lectric. They can confirm the backwards compatibility.

      @@EbikeEscape Wow, that was a fast reply! 😃
      That's good news for me, because I have an XP (1.0) and I'd like to upgrade to an XP 3.0, and it would be nice to be able to use the XP's old battery as a backup.
      Thanks for the info! 👍😊

      Update: I bought the 3.0, and the old battery from my 1.0 didn't fit. 😡 It looks like it is _supposed_ to, but due to what I perceive to be poor manufacturing tolerances, it was too tight and had to be forced hard to go all the way into the frame tube. At that point, it was in so tight that the only way to remove the old batt from the new bike was to pry it out with a screwdriver.
      Worse, the locking pin on the 1.0 battery didn't line up with the corresponding hole in the 3.0 frame, so I couldn't unlock and power on the battery. So it was a literal non-starter.
      So while it appears that the batteries from older XP generations are _supposed_ to be interchangeable, in fact they are not. Very disappointing.

    Not that big of a difference in performance.

    the slime is a terrible addition. it caused build up in my tube because it sat for so long between when they assembles it, and when they actually shipped me the bike. I had to have a bike shop get it sorted for me. maybe if the slime wasn't added by morons? who knows. but Lectic told me "its normal to have your rear tire wobble up and down while riding it" I have 2 other ebikes from a competitor, neither of those had a "normal" wobble in the rear tire. i would literally be bouncing up and down while riding the bike. LECTRIC SAID THIS WAS NORMAL

      Is your rear tire seated all the way?

    • @lennchadful
      @lennchadful ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EbikeEscape yeah i checked that. the bike shop said the slime caused a section of the tube to almost double back on itself, causing like a ball to form, making the weight unbalance at a section of the tire. its all set now, luckily they did it free of charge. the fact that Lectric said a wheel wobble was a "normal" is insane to me

      Agreed. After many commenters have brought this to my attention, I have been working on it.
      Thanks for the constructive criticism.
