    How I frame a print for display.
    Some galleries require a plain, narrow black metal frame, with photograph surrounded by at least a 3" wide white mat.
    16" x 20" Single Mat Conservation Paper - White Wash
    Opening: 9" x 13"
    16" x 20 Matshop Mouldings - Regular Black Metal
    16" x 20" Backing Foamcore AF Black 3/16
    16" x 20" Glazing Plexi - 1 mm
    All supplies from the MatShop, Canada

    A skilled craftsman, a framer who measures instead of just estimating.
    There are some horrible framers around these days, but clearly this gentleman isn't one of them.

    I gave it a thumbs up for the moody 80's guitar soundtrack alone.

    Congrats! Now you have a beautiful, pristine mounted and framed fine art print, which you can hang in your living room!

    It is the standard gallery mount and framing...done exactly as it’s supposed to be done.

    Great video, I needed a refresher and this info did the trick.
    Thank you and the music is wonderful too (Corel Videostudio...I think)

      Yes, Corel Videostudio. I did find out that the music is not copyright free, so the ad revenue goes elsewhere.

    Did you put the hanging wire on for landscape format on a portrait format picture?

      Noticed that too. It's an easy mistake to make...I've done it for sure. Also easy to fix...but yeah he did

    • @AHydrant
      @AHydrant  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are acrylic/plexi, and mine came from: www.matshop.ca/products/glass_and_plexi/plexi.html

    Can same be done for framing an original painting for gallery display as well please?

    • @AHydrant
      @AHydrant  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually, yes. But if you have a particular gallery in mind, it would be best to consult them first.

      And why he mounted artwork on the window mat? it should be on the backing and the window mat is hinged to .
