Very nice T bird! I had a '64 for several years I loved driving it. I now have a '65 that needs restoration. My charging system doesn't work either. The Birds nest in Portland Oregon has tons of parts. Best of luck and God bless.

Being a new Thunderbird owner, I wouldn't expect you to know that Thunderbirds are notorious for falling into reverse by themselves. The slide mechanism causes undo wear on the shift lever causing it to not lock into park and then falling into reverse by itself when nobody is in the car. You should never ever leave the car running without sliding the steering column to the right, therefore locking it into park. The pulley on your alternator is incorrect as well, it should be a single grove pulley. Its not uncommon for the timing chains on these cars to stretch out by 50 thousand miles. Did you ever look into the smoking issue? Its a nice car, your doing a nice job.

Thank you! I sure appreciate the advice as this is my first experience with a thunderbird. I just got the slide greased up where the wheel will move to the right. I'll make sure to always have it there while idling in park. I got the smoke issue resolved in the next video I'll have out later. After I cleaned the build up out of the top of the heads it stopped smoking. Oil must have been draining over into the valvestems then into the cylinders. It's running smoothly now.
