The Aurora monster models started everything. That whole monster craze that started in the 60s , it was all about Famous Monsters Magazine, the monster movies on TV and the Aurora Monster Models. Those will always be the greatest monster models of all time.
You got the coolest collection I've ever seen. I've been collecting masks since I was 11 now 35. Pleases make more masks videos to learn more about old masks. 🤘💀🤘
I had all of the Aurora Monster Kits when I was a kid, and have many of the re-issues since then. I also had most of the Monster Scenes Kits (with Dr. Deadly and The Pendulum), and a majority of the Prehistoric Scenes Kits. I had all of the Planet of the Apes models except for the Gorilla Soldier on Horseback. I had an assortment of dinosaur/caveman models from various companies. I still love to build/paint monster models, and my skills have improved vastly over the decades. I also had quite the collection of monster magazines when I was a kid, all lost through time, and I’m proud to be a current contributor (illustrations and articles) for Scary Monsters Magazine. I even wrote an article about building/painting monster kits that was published in Scary Monsters titled BE A MODEL CITIZEN!
I absolutely adored this episode. I have a show where we go through the original Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine. I just inherited my late father's monster collection. Would love to chit chat at all things Monsters. I have 4 of the models in this. The draculas drag, wolfmans wagon, Frankenstein's car and the girl in the cage. Thank you again for sharing!
Man , this was SOME haul ! I had all the P.O.T.C. guys ( dig skeletons) i had some of the 2nd wave Aurora Horror stuff too. love these things. I even had the moving skeleton for fishtanks back then as a collectable fig! :D good stuff! P.S. That Werewolf is WAY decent bro!
I am SO HAPPY i found your Channel! im a *MASSIVE* Monster/Horror Fan and Collector, and i had no idea these even existed! i looked for them on Ebay and found out Polar Lights Re-Released these Model Kits not too long ago, and you can get the ENTIRE LINE of the Haunted Mansion "or now Haunted Manor" for around $60 USD! so i did JUST THAT! of course the Boxes for the 1970s Disney Versions look *A COUNTRY MILE COOLER* but i want to Assemble/Paint and Display these. so paying only around $15 to $20 each for them was far better of a choice. but my favorite by a mile is the Grave Robbers Reward, and Play it Again, Sam. those two are just so cool! i also got clued off while looking for these, about "The Strange Change" Model Kits of a Vampire and Mummy. so i had to get those too! i absolutely love the Gimmicks to them! my Mom "God rest her Soul" would have loved these too. she absolutely loved Horror as well. especially Hammer Horror movies.
I was a kid in the 60's and had the Frankenstein, Wolfman, Dracula, and Superman Aurora models. I would glue them together, do the painting down in the basement so it was sort of creepy but fun. I am sure today these would pricey but if I remember I think they were under 5 bucks back in the day.
Those Haunted Mansion models are really cool. I never came across them in my monster phase from the early 70's but those may have been discontinued by then. On the Bride of Frankenstein... I thought I had all the Aurora Universal monster model kids but apparently not. I never saw her, Dracula's daughter, or the Invisible Man in the model store that I went to. And no ads for them in the magazines that I had. All the others I saw but not those. They must have been discontinued by then. I did catch some of the 60's stuff but by the time I started getting those models it may have been the next series. They still had the glow pieces though. I was just too young to start my monster phase in the early 60's.... but I still had fun with what I had. The 70's toys were awesome too.
I am so jealous. What a great collection and I enjoyed your descriptions. One note. I found your delivery slow so I sped it up to 1.5 speed. Maybe I just need to work on my patience..
I thankfully have the Moebius ones and even those are getting rare ....the Vampirella goes for 100 or more plus I have the 3 that Aurora planned but never made Moebius recreated them
I recently cleaned out a house and found quite a few painted Aurora Monster Models mainly from the 1960's. ( Only 1 original box) Can you tell me if it's best to sell the collection on Ebay or is there a better sale venue for Monster Collectors? Thank you so much.
Hey Cindy, if you could email me some pictures I am a strong buyer on them, eBay takes huge cuts these days as far as their fees so I could always pay you directly if you wanted. I’d love to see what you found it sounds really interesting, you can email me if you like rudymunis@att.net
Here’s what’s been bothering me. What monster movies are considered Halloween? Here’s some sample Monster Inc Monsters vs allies Shrek ? Scooby-Doo Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit? Night at the museum? Etc
Just curious dude ... what the heck do u do for a job ? U seem to have an endless supply of green $ to enable all of your monster hobbies and car collections..🧟♂️🚗 😲 🤷♂️ !
I see you're a Misfits fan too! I got them on the mind because my dear sis got me an old CD of theirs for my BarfDay. Also, I was just mad enough to make an animation to one of their songs, that banger Skulls. In case you're curious and got 2 minutes... th-cam.com/video/Kt1h0jrHTPI/w-d-xo.html
Hey there my local hobby shop sells a liquid that comes in a jar for stripping plastic models, however a good friend of mine told me easy off oven cleaner works great. I haven’t tried it yet but he said put the model in a paper bag and spray it and the paint will eventually all come off. I’m gonna test it out on a cheap model or just a part and see what happens. Check online though there may actually be other products out there in the model world. I can’t remember what brand my jar was but it seemed alcohol-based possibly, it definitely never damage the models whatsoever
@@RudysWorldOfficial brilliant...I always see old painted models and think about buying them to repaint but think that you would lose detail if painting over them. I just bought an old painted vinyl predator and alien 3 ebay lot very cheap. May have a go with the oven cleaner..thanks.

Another badass video. I love monster merchandise of the 60's and 70's, but few things compare to the Aurora model kits.
Those are so awesome! Thank you so much for doing this video.. I've never seen or heard about those before.. And I'm 50..

I love Don Post's masks.. I had a glow in the dark SKULL and THE SHAPE.. I bought on Main Street at Disney magic shop.. In like 87.
Brings back memories, being born in the early 60s I pretty much built all of these and more.
Great video. I had the snap action Pirates of the Caribbean models back in the 1970s. Great memories.
I have every monster model kit Nick.

I liked the haunted mansion models. The one with the corpse rising from the grave and grabbing a gravedigger. It was pretty cool.
WOW Amazing Collection Man !!!
Wow that dr deadly monster kitsch cool I've got a dr deadly mask and it came with a tiny comic book

I have the original Monster Scene of the Victim Cage and Vampirella in their original boxes that have never been opened
Oh wow! I would love to find some like that someday in the original boxes
i have the vampirella among all of my toys
I almost gave a thumbs down because I'm so jealous.
Lol! I don’t think it matter up or down
I set up a universal monsters Halloween. Not as many of those as you might think
14:02 I had that Frankenstein with both arms out and a gravestone behind him. 14:44
Yer music should have been the Monster Mash.
TH-cam would pull my video down because I don’t have the rights to the song, all the music hast to be royalty free when you put these videos together
If I remember right the Disney ones use to be in the back of comic book
They have reprints of the Haunted Mansion model kits.
I had a mastodon and cave people and some other when I was a kid never see them anymore
I thankfully have the Moebius ones and even those are getting rare ....the Vampirella goes for 100 or more plus I have the 3 that Aurora planned but never made
Moebius recreated them

Heeeey!!! Haha
How do you remove paint from a plastic or vinyl model without damaging the plastic?
