Great guide. As a new player the main thing I've learned from yt tutorials is that the devs need to add some ways for tree and stone farming, but all the other tips are extremely helpful in the meantime
Awesome tips. When i explore islands i have an inventory of 5-6 crates on my person and tools and just a small ish boat with no crates on. A shelter, still and bird catcher on every visited island with its own solar lamp. Great game 💯
I really enjoy this game, but I never fight the 3 bosses as being in open ocean trying to kill massive sea creatures will surely take years off my life
I've watched more than a few videos to learn tips about this game but this one, this one was by far the best. Gonna have to restart my playthrough so i can have a better start with the new knowledge it was that good. And I'm on like day 30😂
maybe we played a different version, but sharks can definitely flip the raft. they catch up with you and then swim upwards and you hear the bump of them hitting the raft. though it seems only small or narrow rafts are prone to flip over. And another thing, additional sails make the raft faster. nice tip with the gardens, i never figured out why i should "waste" corrugated steel planks for garden plots, but if they store more water it makes perfect sense.
If you are struggling or just dont enjoy the water/sharks - turn wildlife to passive and it can make the game enjoyable for more players - you can still be poisoned but snakes wont bite
Wish the toolbelt worked the same on PC as it does the console version. On PC it just gives the hotkeys, but not the bigger inventory the console has. Tiredness doesn't seem to exist in the PC version either. Putting a rudder on both sides of the raft is a good tip, I'm always having issues turning my raft around.
Rope and fibrous leaves are the most abundant resource in the game w a responsible rate of like 24 in game hrs lol what do you mean. Unless it's been updated rope is the easiest thing to get 😂
You don’t need to use string to hold your stick forward. If you quickly tap forward twice it will auto move. This works when walking, paddling or flying. Can be tricky to get to work sometimes but it does work
A refined knife will last a very long time if only used for meat. Using it for other jobs will use it up faster. You can use old stone blades to make a new one or make other new tools with them. A refined knife at 0.7% can still skin small fish for a time.
It's possible to get a raft on the first island if you don't waste the cloth to make water. You need the rudder and sail, but not the anchor, as long as you don't fall off your raft. You have limited stones and cloth on your first island, so if you don't prioritize a raft, you will have to swim or go by the horrible rubber boat, which is easily tipped by a shark.
Plank station axe return. Shark backing. Poison reset. The only exploits you didn't share was coconut piles for infinite water. And editing your islands in the cartographer after you strip them 😂 don't forget nerfing bosses.
You don't need a water still , take 3 brown coconut preferably with water inside, make a pile then take two from the pile, drink one drop it in ground, drink the other one then pick both the empty coconut and put them back in pile. Refills all the time. Good for the first island , so you can use both cloths to make raft instead.
What do you mean you put them back in a "pile" and the get refilled w water you never need mkre than 3 youll never run out if you put them back in the same pile you got em from lol @@kylergoodson1961
Me personally, never builds a water still, due to there being a glitch with coconuts. You can „build“ a stash of them on the ground and it refills every coconut in it, you can drink 2 two of them every in-game 10 minutes.
im no beginner anymore, but i appreciated this video and the tips ❤ a question: on my raft, i couldnt open a crate anymore. it seems broken, and it alsonlooks like it. anyone has experience with it?
I know there are some issues where you sometimes can't put two of the same item in the same crate. But the reason for this is due to reloading a custom island for double the resources. Turns out when you have two of the exact same items from an island you loaded and scavenged twice, the game doesn't like it. I've had to throw full crates into the ocean that were glitched this way. Restarting didn't help.
Transporting planks is far more effective than transporting trunks. Simply build a plank station on every island you tend to clearcut, When your finished, tear down the plank station and take the resources to the next destination.
Yes. The developers watched all the people streaming and just throwing stuff down, so they added the option to make a pile. Nowadays, the crates and shelves are for putting stuff on your ship and carrying stuff in your inventory.
Actually, the fishing rod is useful. It allows you to catch fish without entering the water in the dark when you can't see the things that will poison you.. Ps; please pronounce pipi as pippy, not pee pee.. the last thing I would say to anyone is that I need a pee pee..
It's possible, but the quick crafting function was a pretty late addition. Maybe you were playing the earlier versions before they patched in the quick craft function.

Detailed, hefty, calm, providing direct and clear examples. This should be the standard for tips/tutorial videos on YT.
Darn right 👍👍👍
Love this game! Played it through 6 times since I bought it 2 years ago. Adding custom island makes this game very replayable.
this is incredibly helpful me and my friend have been bumbling like fools for hours and now we are finally getting things done
Great guide. As a new player the main thing I've learned from yt tutorials is that the devs need to add some ways for tree and stone farming, but all the other tips are extremely helpful in the meantime
If any yucca plants clipped into rocks , hit them and any you cannot pick up - make rope next to the yucca and it will use leaves not picked up
Who the fuck is swimming between the islands? My anxiety level is high enough just being in the damn raft. Lol
Lmao, I've swam one time at night and surprisingly made it np
Swam between islands plenty of times but yes the anxiety goes through the roof
For real, just going in the water puts that shiver down my spine
I haven’t played for years but there were paths you couple swim where no creatures attacked you when swimming
Awesome tips. When i explore islands i have an inventory of 5-6 crates on my person and tools and just a small ish boat with no crates on. A shelter, still and bird catcher on every visited island with its own solar lamp. Great game 💯

The anxiety it gives me. 😅
You claimed that sharks cannot flip your raft, but I have experience to the contrary. This happened only one or twice, when I used a very small raft.
Most definitely can flip your raft.
Watching the tips makes me want to play it again. I hope they make a sequel with more stuff to do.

great video, good job.
one thing @35:30 -> sharks do NOT respawn, unfortunatelly. (PC version of the game)
I wondered about that. Thank you. 👍
Very detailed and helpful. Just what I was looking for.
Video quality is getting better. Keep it up.
Rope is super important and very scarce. Recommend making a water still the required tools and a loom. Don't waste fibrous leaves. Don't waste rope
Rope and fibrous leaves are the most abundant resource in the game w a responsible rate of like 24 in game hrs lol what do you mean. Unless it's been updated rope is the easiest thing to get 😂
Respawn
at the beginning i had problems collecting those leaves. but now i agree, they are everywhere i feel 😂
Every time I open up a world I get scammed with only two yucca plants and its so annoying
Literally one of the few resources that respawn.. lol

You can dismantle the water Stihl to get your cloth back
Sharks can definitely flip a small raft. I had a one base raft and i got flipped twice not far apart.
i ready did super enjoy this tutorial> preciate you ted!!

Then what happens when you run out of coconuts? You'll be racing to the next Island trying to find coconuts so you don't die

says no exploits in video title
Don't need to drop. Putting straight back into the pile refills them too.
You said no exploits, but you still included them.
Ted loves his bird snares.
Just kidding, great video!
awesome stuff man, feels good to get into this and not die immediately lol
😊
Ted - I love you - lmao thanks for the video!

Pipi plant is actually so hard to find. Thought my game was bugged for a while

Great video!
Fun fact. During tutorial you are invincible
in my save, equipping a tool on the belt does not remove it from inventory. is that normal ?
When you add tools into the belt, they disappear from your inventory. But, when you select/equip a tool, it reappears in your inventory.
@@TedNipplesi dug a little deeper : it does not work on pc version. it's only a hotkey item
Oh, okay, thank you 😊
31:15 that thing is GONE
Transporting planks is far more effective than transporting trunks. Simply build a plank station on every island you tend to clearcut, When your finished, tear down the plank station and take the resources to the next destination.
is piling a new option? why waste crate space when you can just group them in piles?
Yes. The developers watched all the people streaming and just throwing stuff down, so they added the option to make a pile. Nowadays, the crates and shelves are for putting stuff on your ship and carrying stuff in your inventory.
@TedNipples loved your video. I came back to this game and love some of the new stuff

Quick crafting is not something I discovered until years after first playing😂😂
It's possible, but the quick crafting function was a pretty late addition. Maybe you were playing the earlier versions before they patched in the quick craft function.
Thata makea Alotta sensa
Reloading the game when getting poisoned is cheating.
Wow, the map on PC is so much bigger than console. Possibly 4x larger.
It's twice as big. 10x10 console is 5x5
18:00 my man says swim to other islands, but doesn't address the elephant sized shark in the room?
Says no hacks or exploits but includes it anyway. Not really complaining though since it's still just a game.
21:10
How to throw spears
Hold the secondary action button (right mouse click by default) to enter aiming mode. You then fire the item as normal with the left mouse button.
left click to aim then right click to throw
Silly speed up music made me laugh out loud.
SWIM to another island? Fuck no. Just use the yellow raft you're given at the beginning of the game!
Commentary sounds depressingly AI. The tips as such are quite okay
That's true, but I am working on my speaking voice to get better.
