Tip#12 raft items are not only cosmetics, if you use barrels they will be submerged about halfway in the water which will make you get stuck easier on rock formations in shallow water, whereas tyres float on sea level making it less likely to get stuck on them
Tip #2: Potatoes will not only fail to spawn, they are the only item I know of that will actually *despawn* if left on the ground. If you come across a potato, drop whatever you're doing and collect it/ store it away immediately. Tip #4: The cheapest shelter you can build is actually your liferaft. Make a spear, throw it straight down into the ground, flip your liferaft upside down, and prop it up on the spear as a lean-to. Cost: 1 stick. Tip #9: Be aware that it only rains in the island grid you're currently in. When you go out on adventures, your crops will not get rain the entire time you're gone, so prepare accordingly. For these tips nothing seems to be different but if you have different results, please let me know and I will post them here! Update: After extensive research to verify for myself, I was able to determine that rafts, regardless of size only go 1 speed and only require 1 sail, provided the raft is not submerged. I was able to get a shark to flip my single section raft but was unable to flip it due to rough seas during a storm. (see upcoming raft tips video) Cheers!

Haha maybe! There are the survivor remnants and then there are apparently some sea bases. I have not come across one in the wild yet tho. I wonder if they're a myth ;)
@Sharpie360 I was exploring the map with a friend a couple days ago, I'm new to the game, so I didn't know about Easter eggs. I guess we were lucky, we found those remains, the "volleyball" too! 🏐🍍
Love these tips, thank you. I didn’t know there was a great white so that helps. Also didn’t know I could farm that many items, so I will be doing that today! Thanks for all the tips 🙏🏼 Can you make a video on constructing a nice structure like you have? I have one, but it is probably half the size of yours.
Yeah the great white is troublesome, but not as common! The farming is definitely nice to have going, its too bad trees would take too long to grow because that would help a lot with materials haha. AFA the base, thank you! most of the structure on the ground came about from a 4x4 hut and adding all the building modules to it for the Gotta Craft Em All achievement. Or are you referring to my base on the rocktop? :) I could probably put together a quick video of what I do for building, but the secret is bringing resources from other islands in, a LOT. A raft with a lot of storage is critical for this. Thank you for the kind words!
Me and my buddy found out that if you make a pile of drinking coconuts it will refill them when placed back in it. Infinite water so no need for water stills
Sure, but you can only have 2 servings without getting sick and ending up even more dehydrated. Especially if you're low health and the only way you can gain it back is from being almost full on hunger and thirst. You won't be able to get more than 2 bars of hydration per day cycle (or however long you have to wait until you can drink it safely again) So it's a helpful trick but it's always a good idea to have a supply of water available. :)
@@Sharpie360 I only wait 17 seconds… I have no clue if that is the time but I usually drink 2, go kill a grouper, drink 2 more, put meat on to cook, drink 2 more, eat, and drink 2 more. I never get sick so I think it’s around 15-20 seconds and then you can drink again :) I’m also on console so it may be a full day on PC
Yeah console has its own set of flaws so I can only say what happens for me. That's also a lot of goofing around just to get hydrated imo. That's why I go the water bottles and collector route :) but do what works for you!
@@Sharpie360 I’m still new, and I am still finding out the best ways. I don’t think I’ve even had a bottle yet I will work with them and see what’s up. I shall master the seas though, thanks for your vids m8.
Where did you get the wood Required to build that sea bridge? And does your raft fit underneath? I’m day 15 now and about to build a ship yeard and have realized the rafts sail is 2 stories plus the angles roof height high
Some of it came from organic harvesting during the playthrough but a lot of the extra came from a custom island I dropped in with a bunch of resources already spawned. This was for a bunch of testing purposes mainly but also just to build more creatively after I 100%ed the game. IIRC it fits under the bridge and it's about 2 full sections high. I tried building that out as far as I could but there is a limit and you get to a point where once you load back into the game, the sections furthest from your island will only render the low resolution version even up close and it has no collision so you fall into the ocean. 😅 That sounds like an awesome idea! I tried a bit of a dock in my last playthrough. Cheers 😎
@@Sharpie360 ah cheers bro. Honestly I didnt expect any reply after so many years :D The first thoughtI had was building bridges between islands as I did the same in Subnautica but quickly realised there wont be enought trees around. Thanks for the heads up, saves me some chopping just to fall into the water. I just only organically grown wood so far, I usually eat and drink up, my go to another island, fill all 12 containers on my raft with trunks and get back to base by the morning where water and food is already waiting on the smoker. Seems to be a quick way to harvest but you run out of islands with fresh palm trees. I didnt try the custom islands yet - seems like its wasting the game. anyway ... cheers
For sure dude, yeah you got a solid day loop down! For the custom islands, the real fun comes with the islands made by the community to go explore. some really cool islands out there wayyyy past what you'll get in the base game so maybe check those out.
That's dope, I like that. The hotkeys thankfully work now a lot better than they did when I put this video together but it would be nice to have the extra room.
Could you expand on tip 20? I tried to bring container parts back, but the weight of them was sinking my 3×2 raft. How big would i need the raft to be for 1-4 pieces of a container to not sink my raft?
I would say you'll want something a but larger. I don't have a definite size but if you're looking to transport multiple container sections I wouldn't go any smaller than a 5x6. This handled my 3x3 raft and a 1x1 raft on top of that with only sinking just below the surface a bit but still able to sail. Bigger is better if you can spare the materials. Thanks for the question!
Do you have the bug where aiming at shark or boar with either spear or speargun spins the crosshair around, like extreme jittery and sometimes autolock the crosshair into the ground?
Unfortunately, there are no floor/ceiling sections made of the container pieces so you wouldn't be able to fully recreate it but you can use the corrugated steel for the floor/ceiling sections. You can only craft the wall and door sections from the container pieces.
