Great vid. I wanted to share that i just attempted to change my oil at home. I bought the walmart brand oil wrench, and the O'Reillys brand also. They are crap! Note: Do Not buy the cheap or mid grade oil filter wrench. I broke off 2 plastic pieces off the oil filter housing. Buy the expensive brand $20 wrench. Make sure it fits snug. I learend the hard way. 😊 the wrench in this vid is the correct wrench.
I see the newer Toyotas went to the canister type oil filter is that all of them with that I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla LE that uses standard oil filter
Hey Lawrence, I did notice that the new Toyota’s are coming out with the canister type filters. Toyota seems to love always switching up their designs, the 4Runners went from the filter being at the bottom then to the top (which was easier) then the 2016 models went back to being at the bottom.
@@njsongwriter Yes, on this car and the type of filter for it, is indeed the canister type filter, which you reuse the outer shell. The other type (not this video) which you replace the whole thing is the cartridge type. They both screw on and off. I hope i was able to clarify that better, thanks for watching!

A spin-on oil filter IS a canister filter.
