    Omg thanks for this! My husband and I are getting an Aussie pup in a month. Our current dog is so low maintenance that I’m doing everything I can to prepare for such a high maintenance dog 😂

    This is so helpful! I have an Aussie Shepherd mix and he's my first dog so I don't know what I'm doing really. Definitely going to pick up one of these brushes!

    You have really beautiful Aussies. I went to your website and OMG there are some magnificent dogs! We’ve had 4 Aussies that all came from high quality breeders but none compare to yours.

    Hello! I absolutely LOVE your videos. I watched them all before getting my Aussie and I watch them occasionally to remember things. Quick question about the conditioner. Do you dilute the Isle of Dogs Strengthen? Or do you just transfer it from the squirt bottle to the continuous most bottle?

      Thanks!! If you bought the concentrated jug then dilute it. I believe they also sell it in a squirt bottle which would already be diluted.

    I am in love with your pup and have been looking for an aussie for a while now. I’ve done extensive research and would love to know who this boy’s breeder is. Please let me know if you can help me out

    Is there any situation where you’d use a rake to help get some of that undercoat? Or is using the slicker good enough to get a lot of it out where a rake isn’t needed?

    • @sandollaraussies
      @sandollaraussies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I use a dematter to remove undercoat where the topline isn’t level or body areas where the topcoat isn’t laying flat. My grooming tools & products video has the link for that!

    Hi I just saw this video and your dog is so cute! Also I brush my dog just like you brush yours and my dog has a line straight down his back, where is hair parts I guess, but how do I get rid of that?

      Meagan Smith It’s all about how you dry him. Watch my how to dry your dog video and see how I do the topline. This will help.

    So is the slicker brush the best to use for daily use? How often do I use a defurber brush? Can you suggest a good one?

    • @sandollaraussies
      @sandollaraussies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, slicker brush along with a comb is the best combination as it will help remove dead hair and make sure there are not mats. With a defurber you run the risk of stripping the live coat out which can damage the hair.

    Hi, excuse my ignorance. But I do not understand why we want to remove the undercoat. Isn’t there a reason for this breed to have an undercoat?

    • @sandollaraussies
      @sandollaraussies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You want to help remove the undercoat in the summer. The undercoat naturally comes out but without proper grooming can mat or clump together which doesn’t allow the dog to cool as easily.

    hi I am getting an aussie soon and I just had a question. What is the difference between the deshedding furminator tool and slicker brush? Should we buy all three brushes and comb (Slicker, Pin, Furminator, comb)?

    • @sandollaraussies
      @sandollaraussies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The furminator is very aggressive on the hair and will cut coat out. You don’t want to remove all the undercoat out at once so I would not recommend getting this one. A sicker brush does not cut the hair, instead will remove only what is dead. It is healthier on the coat. The comb is used after the slicker to make sure you didn’t miss any mats. Pin brush, you don’t need at all. This one is just used for minor fluffing at the show.

      @@sandollaraussies heyy! so do we buy the furminator deshedding tool or no. Because i heard we need an undercoat rake right, long toothed. alsooo we dont need these things once the puppy comes right? we can buy them at 4 months

    • @sandollaraussies
      @sandollaraussies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sanikachimurkar2388 I do not recommend the furminator at all and I don’t recommend using an undercoat rake on a regular basis. I only use it on my dogs to shape body hair for the show. The undercoat will release naturally and the best way to remove it once it is dead is a bath and blow dry.

    My pup has bad matts behind the ears. What is the best way to gwt them out?

    • @sandollaraussies
      @sandollaraussies  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can try brushing them out with spray in conditioner and a slicker brush although depending how close to the skin or thick they are that might not work. I normally just cut them out with thinners since that hair gets trimmed anyways and always goes back fast

    How often do you brush your dogs out?

    • @sandollaraussies
      @sandollaraussies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once a month and full bath once a quarter. But puppy coats or shedding season more frequently once a week.
