sounds like it could be a controll board not sensing the motor speed. or you could have changed the settings as there's a auto stop in reverse. a few different settings are changed by a sequence of button presses. check the instructions
Hi i have a DTW285 with a problem, when you press the switch it judders sometimes doesn't turn at all then occasionally starts to work, could it be the switch?
Got a pile of these. I have to replace them for the same problem every 5-6 month. They start screeching and stop unwrapping/ wrapping fittings. Does it need new parts or just cleaned. Had a look all the cogs have there teeth still.
Hi mate, i have the 300z. Horrid screetch noise when pressing on the trigger ( not 100% on the correct name of the parts) i thought the rear fan bit was broken so i bought a new one, still the same noise.. how do i diagnose the problem without buying loads of wrong parts and end up spending close to what a new one would cost. Thanks pal
it's a hard one to diagnose but a screeching could be the gear box or bearing sized up. try to listen to where it's coming from. give it a good clean and a set of brushes
you should service them yourself all parts are available to buy. and it would save you the cost of a new one. At least you could just buy 1 a year. this was from a scaffolding company picked up 5 of them.

How much would you charge for a full refurbishment??
I go through 2 of these a year scaffolding.
Could do with saving a few quid nowadays.
