Wow that Goodwill was a mess! Makes you appreciate the little overnight elves that fix thing up before you come in the mornings.
Unfortunately no overnight elves 😂
Barbra Streisand in hello dolly- or funny girl " hello gorgeous "
Newsboy cap? I had one in my shop. Denim. Flew out of my shop 😊
Jeff cap?
Karen, you should have been an interior designer. Your eye is amazing!
Hi, Karen, I've been behind watching your videos, but I'm catching up quickly. Yes to the coffee if it's sealed and the price is right. I remember when visiting the beautiful mountains in North Carolina, I went to a Goodwill store and the clerk graciously offered me lunch and a bottle of water, I accepted the sandwich and the water, never say no to kindness and good fortune.
I’m laughing! Karen! Look at Roger’s face when you ‘make’ him try something on, that man is having the time of his life! I expect you have brought great happiness and joy to this man’s life. You guys are great. Keep making each other smile. And please keep making videos, I sometimes live vicariously thru them…
People probably just donate food with the rest of the stuff they are donating rather than finding a free food pantry to put it in. If it is a common thing goodwill should create a free food pantry outside, send it to a food bank or just offer it to employees for free.
Hi Karen …the creamer and sugar set ..think you said it was nippon (not sure spelled correct) …you would see the lid inside had a little bit of a lip an the one end(could see it when you picked it up) you have to insert the lid tilted slightly down with that side of the lip going under the rim of the creamer and then it would sit flushed on the creamer ....it’s made that way so lid does not come off when pouring…goodwill rep just taped it laying on top of the creamer instead of inserting into the creamer ….you probably will notice that when edit the video…and go ohhh I missed that!…😊….it was a nice set for resale..
The tin with the perforated bottom is a holder for foam soap from Bath & Bodyworks 😊
At 15:13 The 2 jumbo coffee mugs, Poppy Splatter by Maxcera, selling by Replacements Ltd. , as discontinued pieces for $27.99 each. I think these are beautiful for morning coffee with hubby, in the mornings. ❤❤
Replacements are very overpriced
@@lavenderclothesline I believe you, Karen ! I really do appreciate you letting me know! Have a wonderful night, and day tomorrow! 💗
Don't you worry about people taking your goods out of your unwatched carts??? Maybe not in the past...when resale wasn't as popular...but now that people act like they're in "survival mode" and ANYTHING GOES!
No she doesn't. She has addressed that 1000 times
@@meldog7925 I have always wondered this as well. How is it ahe does not worry ? Does she park her carts near the front checkouts for employees to watch ?
@@jillgott6567 she says people don't bother them. She says other sellers and employees watch them as well. The store is full of resellers.
She covers her cart if she has something super valuable
@@meldog7925 WOW….
Have you seen prices of coffee in the retail stores 🤯 as long as it’s within expiration date, I’m buying !!!
Lladro at Goodwill - wow! I would definitely consider buying unexpired, packaged food.
Specially, coffee, liquid gold❤
😂😂😂Hi Karen! My Husband is terrified of clowns. We appreciate your warning. Lol. You are too sweet and funny XO
me too and Seely Booth from BONES
Yep ! No shame here! I would definitely grab food totally sealed like that!🤗
I definitely would have purchased if seal was intact and item was not expired, most definitely with dry goods such as the coffee.
Thanks for the clown warning.....I hate clowns LOL
Hello love you and Roger both👍wish we were neighbors -would be so fun to have you as friends in real life - anyway wanted to let you know I have also purchased food items from thrift stores - it is rare to come across food products in the thrift stores yet when I do I look them over and decide ‘yes or no’ based mainly on price point - I gave done this several times over the years and I am fine healthy never got food poisoning etc 😊😳🤣lol so all that to say do not feel awkward or strange for the Dunkin’ donut coffee purchase you did great - it was a deal and as you say ‘ Do we love a good deal? Yes, we do! “ big hugs and much love Joyce
I am always surprised to see food on the shelves at Goodwill stores. Our thrift shops won't sell food products here in Australia.
The hat made me think of Frosty The Snowman
Roger is a great man your very blessed
Yes! I use my photo holder to display vintage cards during the holidays as decor
I can hear Cary Grant saying “hello gorgeous”!!
I love how you group like items together for other shoppers to find ❤️
I do that, too! Once I returned a stand to its punch bowl and I noticed that someone picked up both of them within a few minutes.
Colorful African Zulu telephone wire baskets sell well for me. The first one I found was all bent out of shape and I didn't even know what it was, but my buyer sure did! Since then, I've sold every basket I've found at full price. They're lightweight and easy to ship too.
The pearl encrusted piece you picked up was a bath and body soap holder (older version) 😊
"Hello Gorgeous" - pretty sure was from Funny Girl.
Generally I would not buy food at GW but depending on the item, the expiration date and the packaging, why not ? Coffee ! Yup 😊
I agree! It’s sealed..why not? 😃
Can food will last forever provided the can is not damaged.
Coffee is something I would consider for sure.
According to Google - in 1968 Barbra Streisand portrayed the famous comedian Fanny Brice in the movie funny girl. Looking into a mirror, Streisand greeted her reflection with the words hello gorgeous and a legendary phrase was born.
Thanks for taking us with you! My husband said the price on the Dunkin’ Donuts was fantastic, smile…
Hi Karen! My booth is on sale 25% off at Vintage and Co which is next to Caruso's in Silver Spring. A two minute drive from Landisville. I'd be over the moon if you stopped in. Hours are wonky but Wed -Sat between 10 and 4 is the usual.
Rejected Bequest😉
My granddaughter would love those beautiful little tea cups! I can only imagine how we would have to be all dressed up fancy for our tea party to drink out of them. ❤❤❤
Sometimes a short video is perfect!
They don’t do well! 😁💜
You may have missed a vintage magazine rack at 2:20. Maybe good for your booth!
Your videos are a perfect textbook- check each item carefully for any defects and don't buy if it isn't in good condition, check for comps both listed and sold, and don't buy something that's too expensive to ship. If we all followed that, we would be more profitable.
🎶Hello Gorgeous 🎼🎼🎼 Fannie Brice - 🎶Funny Girl🎶
YES ! Barbara Streisand ! I thought I was right about that movie. 😂 "Hello Gorgeous"
There's nothing wrong with Washington State. I've lived here for many years, and it's one of the best places there is! 🌲🌲🌲
We were stationed in the US Navy. The beauty of this state is breathtaking. We were on Whidbey Island in Washington state.
Washington…where Starbucks began…I’d buy that mug! Lived in the state all my life! It’s beautiful here! 🤫😉
I think she meant it’s not as hard to find;) She mentioned it before. Areas that you don’t see all the time! Washington is probably more of a common one.
I am sure you are right but sorry you missed the point. She was talking about how valuable starbucks mugs from certain places might be. Some are more common and that makes them less attractive to resellers😊 see also hangingtrends640 response...
Baker boy cap/hat xx
No food from Goodwill.
Love the Booth,,,❤
I love everything about the seashell candlesticks and platter!
Im going to say no dont buy food there. I was just shopping at my local goodwill and they brought carts out and much to my horror there was a douche or enema in the buggy. So I reevaluated my methods to look around the buggy before digging. Absolutely disgusting and a health hazard. It was out of the box ☠️😐Who knows what we are touching!!!
As long as the food box doesn’t smell like perfume or air freshener it would be ok. I have not seen food at our GW. I buy food at the Amazon/Target bin stores all the time and have saved so much money. It is not out of date at that store. I bought cases of special protein drinks for $8 a case of 12 that sells for $39 on Amazon.
The nippon set looked to be a creamer and sugar. The creamer usually doesn't have a lid. It was just an extra add-on.
Love those photo holders. Have three and use them for vintage post cards.
Hi Karen it’s 5 pm in uk sending lv Ann 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
I stopped in your booth recently. It looks so good! I really wanted the red napkin holder, but I was traveling and I wouldn't have been able to pack it. I hope to check your booth next time I am in town. 😀
I apologize Karen, the handbag is out of the cart now; good for you!❤ wow I am liking those seashell pillar candle sticks. Good pics for the trays and tumblers for summer.
Have fun on your roadtrip!
I love how you question the potentiality of a purchase. Food products with an unexpired food date which if sealed would be safe to purchase.
I love Dunkin and coffee is getting expensive. Enjoy!
While I do not like clowns for decoration can someone explain why some people have such an aversion even fear them? I am honestly curious.
We buy food at estate sales all the time. I always check dates and am careful about bringing home bugs from pasta. Vanilla extract is very expensive and lasts forever so that I buy even if expired.
Karen,I wanted that picture with the light house!!😢
I liked it so much too! (Patti)
Me too!
Just go to a thrift store and buy one. There are many paintings like those in every thrift store. Do you not got out of the house ?
@LannieLord I have a weakness for anything related to a lighthouse! And yes,I get out of the house.
Goodwill has those Franklin Mint and Bradford Exchange mini lighthouses 24/7 ! They are nicely detailed and can be had for $7.99 - $9.99 @@user-jv5cn9gs7w
Although Johnson Bros are cute plates, I have 2 sets, they are smaller than normal and chip easily and badly, so skip those. And any plates with metal rims will spark in microwave, so skip those... all my mistakes.
Hi Karen. Wishing you and Roger a great and productive week.
The metal thing you said may have had a glass insert was a bath and bodywork hand soap holder.
I always laugh Karen when you say you have a Long Island accent😂 I am from Philly and sound just like you the accent!!!❤❤❤ never change your accent. Love the channel ❤
If it’s not expired I buy it! I’ve never seen it at a resale shop but I have at estate sales. I also buy paper goods, foil, parchment paper, cleaning products etc at estate sales. I hardly ever have to buy those things full price.
I enjoyed your shopping trip & love the items that you purchased. Yes, I would buy discounted food at GW.
That pitcher right next to the Mickey Mouse cup would be great for juice or a flower arrangement!... and the divided glass tray above the waiter on the next aisle is great for charcuterie or antipasto tray ❤
You should have gotten the Rasta shoes! I live in the Caribbean where there are many Rasta true to Red, Gold, and Green. And a lot of online shoppers because the choices are limited.
Prices are SO good….that basket at my GW would have been 15-18$
When I can't find a comp on eBay, I put the item on the internet and search there. Lots of times something will come up on other selling platforms. At least you can get an idea of a general price that way. I would buy sealed food items also. Thanks for sharing.
Food from Goodwill is like many other things from Goodwill. It depends: Is it in date? Is it sealed? Is it a value? Those would be the first questions, but I'd skip anything that needs climate control or could go bad if it was handled or left out, of course. But even those who say never, might go ahead and buy boxed NOS items that have some form of edible in the boxed kit or package. Some examples might include: Sealed Baseball card packs from decades ago, that have gum. Holiday Cup Sets that include a cocoa mix pack. Vintage Easy Bake Oven, with cake mixes way out of day. M & M Dispensers, in sealed boxes that have old candy. Re-sellers pick these up routinely and sell them. Sometimes they add a note about the food, gum or candy being out of date, sometimes not. But if you've ever picked up and resold a product like this, then yes, you have purchased edibles from a Thrift Store. I'd have tried the coffee, too! Please let us know if it was good. 😉
Food, ahhh I don't know!! Only time I've seen anything like that was at the bins. Not for me. Can't wait to hear about your road trip, I'm sure there's thrifting involved. TFS * L
That lopsided metal tin thing was a Bath and Body works to put one of their pump soap dispensers into.. I used to have a couple.
Great video Karen.
That one item that was silver with rhinestones all over and you thought it may have had a glass insert at one time is a soap dispenser holder. You would buy the bottles of the tall square soap bottles and put them in there. I hope I explained it right 😊
Karen our goodwill look like that all the time. Watching....
Always fold the soles on the shoes back before selling them. They will crack if perished. I have purchased 2 pairs of ladies shoes and the soles fell apart almost the first time I wore them. One pair left me hobbling through the rain into the shopping center to buy a pair as the soles disintegrated. I had only purchased them and the seller was horrified and refunded me immediately. Happened again, but it was a few months after purchase so I just threw them out.
That happened to me with Dansko.
Those melamine plates would sell on Ebay for a bit of money.
Ive bought stuff from the goodwill bins that ive eaten. Like candy thats still sealed in the pack. As long as theres air pressure still on the bag and its not super old, i aint skeeeerd!
Hanging spider thingy is a Bath & Body Works candle holder.
There is a safety recall on those glasses from McDonalds. I believe they were 80’s 90’s glasses. I had some and just recycled once I found out about this recall. Just check b4 buying these
I would absolutely have bought that coffee! Why not?
NY doesn't let the GW sell food.
At 13:21 that is a cover for bath and bodywork’s hand soap pump container 😊
I really really want/need to get myself started on ebay.. I really enjoy watching your videos, you have a distinct voice.. I love it. Your calming
I love your haul today. I love actually to see the carts also.
I wish our GE stores were half as good as yours. Love shopping with you.
And BTW, I always sell piano music rolls. Ppl collect them. They sell for about $15/each.
score thats my coffee too would of totally grabbed it
The item you thought was missing glass insert was from Bath and Body works. It holds a soap dispenser in that shape.
That small tin was for handsoap from Bath And Bodyworks.
Lycky you all goodwill inmy area close at 7 PM sharp. I’m so jealous. Iol. I love watching you doing your thing
I think those smaller volume coffee mugs show their age. Back in the day, '70's or so, we drank much less coffee. Though, recently I saw someone suggest those smaller mugs for Late, (spelling)? I do buy singles. I can deal with OK, but that y'all gets on my nerves.
Wonder if those colorful sneakers sold in another country?
Oh no Karen, you're slipping back to an old habit of leaving your handbag, that says take me in the baby seat, even with handles! That could be gone in a flash!. Just be careful, not even Roger here today to beat the theif off.😂😂😂
PIANO MUSIC GREAT ITEM
Enjoyed the video. Travel safe.
I absolutely would buy food items at GW. Depending on the product age / exp date and deal.
Hi Karen❤️ My Philadelphia accent is recognized from coast to coast!! “Are you from Philly”lol😁
Leg Avenue sells a lot of fishnet stockings, patterned nylons, hats, gloves and other Halloween Costume accessories.
Roger is a "good egg"😅
He’s truly wonderful 💜
I would buy coffee pods for a bargin- anywhere
Think about Mother's Day coming up. bring on the tea cups and those different things a momma might like
Love the poppy cups.😊
I would say the coffee came from Target. overruns, and food rotations often go to goodwill stores
I’ve bought food before at GW! I’ll buy just about anything!
I love the dog. It’s the stance, tail and color.
Love a good thrifting road trip, Godspeed!
I didn’t know Goodwill was allowed to sell food items . Maybe I’d try the coffee . I’ve found some expensive good shampoos, soaps , laundry detergents and light bulbs at thrift stores for personal use .
