My mom had those lamps when I was a child. They had lined silk shades in a cream colour with a gold braid. I loved those lamps and remember them clearly.
Interesting fun fact: I read somewhere that the reason some overseas dishes are in odd numbers is because people of that particular manufacturers region feel even number sets are bad luck. So maybe some of the plates, mugs, etc that you find in an odd number of pieces aren't truly missing a piece.
@@donnathomas8612 That's very interesting. I buy glasses and dishes in sets of 3 since there are only 3 of us living here. It's ok to break the rules sometimes. Life is short!
This was such a fun video. I love it when the shelves are loaded. "Still bearing the founder’s name, Thibaut (pronounced Tee-Bo) was founded in New York in 1886 by Richard E. Thibaut, an American of Parisian descent."
Keep each other laughing, you two!! I gallery walled my powder room with all women oriented artwork, even some oil paintings, and I invited the men in my household to stay out. I love it and it keeps ‘em out most of the time.
Game Console detachable Power Cords: In our Goodwill power cords for electronics often end up in a separate area from the electronic units. So when i find a unit I plan to take I swing over to the "power cord area" and check, often they are there loose.
Hi Sweet Karen. What a fun Video. I haven’t feel well today and this cheered me up ! ( I LOVE Fish! Do we love a good Fish?? YES WE DO! ) I had to play that Line twice. WE NEEd a Karen shirt with Karen quotes. ❤
Love the Quimper you found! My mother is from that region. It's pronounced Kam-pehr and the wallpaper is Tea Beau. Big French day at Goodwill! You find such amazing things. Thanks for sharing
My mother was from the mountains of East Tennessee. She loved Quimper pottery. She even learned the correct pronunciation. 😊 That was before internet so I have no idea how she learned the correct pronunciation. 😁
Just discovered you on youtube not too long ago and i have to say you are my favorite reseller youtuber! love everything you pick up and your voice is soothing. Its also fun to see what your husband gets on the trip too.
You guys are the best. My husband said your voice is calming. 😂 I wish you could do a meet and greet in Tampa someday! You are so loved in my family! Thank you for teaching us valuable things for resellers! ❤
The first time I have disagreed with you. I believe that these lamps had fabric shades. The globes ar e from a different era. Will apologize if I am misinformed. Really enjoy watching all your videos.
I have to say I was trying to imagine a glass globe on top and couldn't visualize it. Imagine beautiful silk brocade shades on those - would be lovely!
You're always apologizing for checking the clothing and I'm going "YAY". The diversity is nice and I like that you always make it interesting. I also like to see Roger smile!
That is why Roger is such a great guy he has a little 8 year old boy that still lives inside him. Nothing more endearing than an eight year old boy you never know what they'll come up with or get into.😂😂😉
I have a set of old lamps from my Mom's bedroom that are 1930's ish era and the lamp shades originally were silk with the wire that clipped onto the bulb, like the ones you didn't buy. Similar to those.
I'm so glad you got that Quimper pottery. My mom loved Quimper pottery and my dad bought her a small selection of Quimper pottery 30 years or more ago. Some of the things we collected 30 and and 40 years ago is less valuable today.😢
I loved those two stonewear plates that you left behind! Some people hang them on the wall as art or use them on their counters to corral objects, so picking up just two for your booth may not be a bad thing when they’re that good! 😊
Hi Karen...All the dishes you're looking at, especially the dinner plates, remind me of when I used to look at dishes to resell, but rarely do anymore. So many beautiful dishes, but of course, the shipping is crazy and then if they're in the booth, they just sit for the longest time. I do think salad/bread/dessert size plates, in even numbered sets, especially from high-end and popular brands, like Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Crate & Barrel and the like, will sell pretty well, whether vintage or not. p.s. I just sold an Anthropologie platter on Ebay for $75 plus shipping (got it for like $6) I did the double boxing thing & all, but don't mind for good profit.)
On the boudoir lamps, you need to be sure that the shade has a collar that will fit down inside a rim near the bottom of the bulb if you are using a glass shade with the large opening at the top. I think you can put a regular shade on them that clips onto the bulb.
My two adult sons are like Roger, they think fart machines, are so funny. They even have a utube channel where a guy goes around with a machine in a store, and guys laugh so hard about it! Men!! Love their crazy sense of humor!! Always fun to see you and Roger “hunting” together!
Make sure you Google the markings for Quimper, there are 2 kinds, one is by the company and one is just pottery made in the town of Quimper France. Very different.
Your amazing & love every spark of funny ness you have in your videos/ love watching what knowledge you have, your soo talented & you share it with me❤great blessings to you both this year:)🎉😮😢😂🎉😮
Hi Karen, I have the small gold baskets. I bought them at pottery barn or crate and barrel 15 years ago. They were with the Christmas table setting. I put small gifts in them as part of my Christmas and Easter table scape.
My husband doesn't mind paying $9.99 for a nice clean gently used golf shirts for himself. A lot cheaper than new, and you know how it is in summer, there are so many ways to get marks, spills on clothing being outdoors a lot, it is nice to have extras in the wardrobe.
I'm screaming 😱 "look at the white pig with the black glasses." 26:22 But I guess it wasn't anything great. But I love pigs....and with glasses 👓 he/she looked so fun . 😁
Such an interesting video!! Thanks so much for the video. And as always, thanks for being the positive, polite, lovely person you are-makes me feel good to know there are people like you in this wonderful world. Take care.
Dont pick up trash out of the cart with your fingers or hand Someone could have coughed or sneezed on it. Always carry wipes in your purse. Usually there is hand sanitizer and paper toweĺs at the entrance. I would have immediately chosen another cart. They spray the carts but you never know what is on the handle. I am sure the teacup to the royal Albert saucer is on another shelf.or in another store 😢. I find. It is nice sometime to mix- match the set.but get similar pattyers. So just for whimsical delight. I may have looked for a teacup to match the saucer.if they weren't expensive.
Hi Karen. It is a great idea to create a Gallery Wall for all of your small pieces of artwork. I have Gallery Walls in both my living and dining rooms and I love them.
Gorgeous GORGEOUS finds today. I'm especially in love with the crystal boudoir lamps (swoon!). At 30:00, when you are looking at the chandelier shades, were those red cut to clear boudoir lamps in the back left corner??? I also have a soft spot for bunny figurines. Thanks for a wonderful shopping trip. (Those carts are waaay to short and small for Roger! He has to stoop to push it! And , while I might not have bought the fart machine, I sure would have played with it a bit. 😂)
Oh the Quimper egg cup should do well. I worked at a dinnerware store and sold Quimper (pronounced kam-PARE) and their egg cups were super popular. Love that you find it in your thrifts!
Just my opinion but I think the crystal lamps would look great with just an Edison Bulb, no shade. You could really see the lamp and it's sparkle. Or it would look awful, I don't know. Also, I think the yellow cheese cover is actually the lid to what must have been a very large and beautiful Ginger Jar. I love the yellow, my favorite color by the by. Fun video!🎉❤
32:11 I think you should have gotten the pink lava lamp. They sell really well! I have one from the 90's that needs new liquid that I'm going to attempt to replace to sell. I bought it for my daughter in 1998 when she was 5 years old.
Up here at Goodwill in Calgary, they like to pull all the good stuff off racks and shelves for the colour tag of the week, and leave the junk to sell .
I think I watched a video of yours a year ago! But hadnt subscribed! Not anything in that thrift Ive seen here all my life! But ill admit im not brand savy! Plus since ive sewn upcylce over 60 years im lokking fir anything i can remake. Im jn southern Calif. I now sell a bit at small farmers market! Mostly jean bags as all in my small retirement town asked where I got them! Seeing your finds makes me want to travel to tge east side of country!
You should have bought that green globe as they sell high for lamps. With those globes it does not matter if they glow or not. Any ball globe is usually good money.
When Roger grabs a cart!!! Hit the floor and roll towards the wall!!! Smile and give the man a thumbs up!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
Rogers smile when he gets a good find😊
Yes! His face just lights up so brightly 😊
Roger's smile ... anytime! 😉
My mom had those lamps when I was a child. They had lined silk shades in a cream colour with a gold braid. I loved those lamps and remember them clearly.
Had those in my bedroom as a child They had silk clip on shades somewhat like the small ones you picked up. They had gold clip on the bulb shades
Today's video was hilarious😅😅😅...my favorite line...there are truly two people that live in my head😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Hi Karen ! I remember the days when IZOD was a coveted brand too. Interesting!
Interesting fun fact:

Yes. Asian countries, especially Japan. Such as a tea set with 5 cups. If it has an even number of cups, it was made for the US market.
@@donnathomas8612 That's very interesting. I buy glasses and dishes in sets of 3 since there are only 3 of us living here. It's ok to break the rules sometimes. Life is short!

lol! Men never really grow up! 😂😂😂 thanks for the laugh Roger!!
Ain't that the truth?!
Keep each other laughing, you two!!
I gallery walled my powder room with all women oriented artwork, even some oil paintings, and I invited the men in my household to stay out. I love it and it keeps ‘em out most of the time.
I REALLY LOVE THAT CAT T-SHIRT :)
The gold vintage coffee carafe is nostalgic for me!! Love the pottery barn mercury glass vases.
My mother had the coffee pot, too. It had a stand that held a candle to warm the coffee. It is missing more than the lid!
Karen u explained the butter bell perfectly!!! Do we love a good butter bell, yes we do!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
The lamps would take a fabric shade that clamps to the light bulb, I believe
Yes- Silk definitely.
Yes, that is the option I would choose.
I agree with the three of you.
Agree, the crystal lamps would have had fabric shades.

Twisted candleholders, stick them in the freezer and the wax should be easy to get off

I do that-- say put it back ( in my mind,) and most of the times, a person does!!! Glad I'm not alone. 😊 Love the 2 rabbits!!

Lol @ Roger. You guys crack me up. Love the videos, thank you!
I pick up pretty wallpaper and use it for gift wrapping. It doesn't tear like regular thin wrapping paper.
You're always apologizing for checking the clothing and I'm going "YAY". The diversity is nice and I like that you always make it interesting. I also like to see Roger smile!
I love when you shop for Roger!! You two are the cutest couple.
Hi there, "tee-bo" is I believe how to correctly pronounce Thibaut (it's French) : )
Correct. I'm French, and yes, that is the correct pronunciation.
Yes!!!! A long one!!!
Watch all your videos, but Roger makes them alot more fun. 😂😂😂
That is why Roger is such a great guy he has a little 8 year old boy that still lives inside him. Nothing more endearing than an eight year old boy you never know what they'll come up with or get into.😂😂😉
I believe those lamp have a silk bell shaped shade. I have lamps like those.
Hi Karen❤️ Fart sounds are funny no matter how old you are!! Roger is so genuine and has a great sense of humor☺️
Tthank you !! ❤ you remind me of Tiffany Thrifting Vegas ! Thank u !
Fun video ! Never a dull moment with Roger around lol loved the lamps with crystals !!!
Ah I was waiting for your video! Happy Wednesday!!💖💖
I have a set of old lamps from my Mom's bedroom that are 1930's ish era and the lamp shades originally were silk with the wire that clipped onto the bulb, like the ones you didn't buy. Similar to those.
I'd use that vintage coffee carafe as a cold drink pitcher. It was beautiful.
I'm so glad you got that Quimper pottery. My mom loved Quimper pottery and my dad bought her a small selection of Quimper pottery 30 years or more ago. Some of the things we collected 30 and and 40 years ago is less valuable today.😢
Roger's fart gun sounds!!! Epic!!! He never disappoints!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
When something is dropped doesn’t break, I shout, “ thank goodness for Vintage glass or pottery” !
Wish we could have seen all of Roger’s finds- great video♥️
I would take that coffee pot and put fake flowers or greenery in it. It would be stunning
I filled mine with multi color mini bottle brush trees at Christmas and put it in my coffee station and it looked so fun! 😊
Me too !
When she was showing it I kept saying ( get it, get it)
lol!
Me too! I would've removed the handle and used as a water carafe. But like she sometimes says, too much work and it's for reselling
Regular lampshades for those lamps. Another great haul!
“There are truly two people that live in my head.” So funny!😂
I saw you today coming out of the Starbucks parking lot! I noticed Rodger first driving as usual!
Roger...😂...you never outgrow that boy bathroom humor!
Roger is a true “hunter “ , he just gets on with it 😂
I loved those two stonewear plates that you left behind! Some people hang them on the wall as art or use them on their counters to corral objects, so picking up just two for your booth may not be a bad thing when they’re that good! 😊

Those glass shades you are looking at are actually for ceiling fan lights - I never thought about putting them on a real table lamp...interesting...
Your commentary is so sweet, Karen.

My grandmother has some lamps like those. She had shades similar to the ones you usually pick up.
