My niece had "Gastric band Surgery" in the U.S. about 6 years ago. She was 34, when she had the surgery. She had a successful procedure and she lost 40 lbs, at that time. The problem is it looks like she has gained the weight back, over the last 6 years. I think this surgery is not worth the risk.

Going for surgery abroad should absolutely not be banned! It's an individuals right to choose surgery anywhere they like as long as they have a passport. I'm planning to one day go to Turkey for a hair transplant (far from bald planning for future) and would be livid if I was denied that right. People travelling abroad for surgery should do their own due diligence and properly research the clinics they may want to go to. It's a damn shame the poor girl died, whether it was due to her not vetting properly or just a freak accident it doesnt matter. People should always be allowed to decide for themselves.

The US President came to Moscow, wanted to visit an American school to check how Russian children learn English. He sat down at the last desk. The teacher, a young woman, wrote words in English with chalk and dropped the chalk. She took it, turned to the class and asked what I had written? All the children are worried and silent, only Vovochka pulls him by the hand. The teacher asks for the second time, they are silent again, only Vovochka squeezes her hand. The third time I asked, and again only Vovochka raised his hand. There is nothing to do, the teacher says, answer Vovochka. Vovochka got up and said - That's an ass! The teacher blushed, angrily told Vovochka - get out of the classroom and come to school tomorrow with your parents! Vovochka leaves the classroom in tears, turns around and says resentfully. American schools don't teach standard English as used by educated English people in England; they teach American dialect. Learning English at an American school is analogous to learning French at a Cameroon school: below par.
Moreover, as an example, in correct English, as used in England and the rest of the UK, an 'ass' is a small, usually grey, long-eared animal of the horse genus; whereas an 'arse' is the buttocks.
Interestingly, the English form 'arse' is now extremely rare in North America, where in later use 'ass' (originally a regional and colloquial pronunciation variant of arse, with assimilatory loss of 'r') became the usual North American equivalent. Therefore Americans now use the same word to describe both the animal of the horse genus and the buttocks, which can cause confusion.
English = belonging to or relating to England, or its people: Englishwoman, Englishman.
British = belonging to or relating to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or to its people (English, Scottish, Welsh, and Northern Irish) or its culture.
Englishwoman = me, because I'm specifically an old girl from England.
England = a country within the island of Great Britain; England shares land borders with Wales to its west and Scotland to its north and is part of the United Kingdom.
Britain, or Great Britain = large geographical island in the British Isles comprising three small countries: England, Scotland, and Wales. The fuller name 'Great Britain' has been in use since the Middle English period, originally to distinguish the island from Brittany, which was then also called Britain.
British isles = a geographically named group of islands, including Britain, Ireland (Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland), the Isle of Man, the Hebrides, the Orkney Islands, the Shetland Islands, the Isles of Scilly, and the Channel Islands, lying off the coast of north-western Europe, from which they are separated by the North Sea and the English Channel.
United Kingdom = sovereign country and kingdom consisting of four smaller countries: England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Full name: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Moreover, the Union Flag (or Jack) does not represent England. St George's Cross is the flag that represents England: it's a red cross on a white background.
The Union Flag (or Jack) is not a symbol or flag of England or Great Britain: it's the flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, being a composite design composed of St George's Cross (England), Saint Andrew's Cross (Scotland), and Saint Patrick's Cross (Ireland, now with Northern Ireland remaining). Wales had been annexed to the Kingdom of England before the Union, and therefore its flag does not form part of the composite design of the Union Flag.
Hope this is of interest and helps to elucidate one's understanding of the UK. xx
      ❤xx
