It's his sense of responsibility. More good than harm is generally ok but not in surgery. Mistakes can kill the patient. He noticed his age was becoming a problem that could introduce a higher chance of mistakes, so he decided to retire before it's too late.
You have to think of it as you or a loved one. Would you want him doing surgery on the person you loved the most in this whole world if he was starting to make mistakes or forget something? Neither would he, and so he did what he felt was best.
This is what i called devotion to his core and his values is not whether is other person or himself also need to standby those value and he left because he broke his own value (everything counts)
i think from a general perspective he is not doing it right, hes being kinda 'selfish' to quit (i dont mean it nagtively), he wants to be responsible to every patient, so he won't allow any mistake, which is very respectful mindset, but from other perspective, they lost the most experienced surgeon (others may or most likely not gonna be better), it is repectful but if every surgeon keeps his mindset, there probably won't have enough surgeon (so all the repectful ones leaves and let others do it), everyone make mistakes, i think minor errors are acceptable, like one of the ways to rate the surgeon is look at the 'death rate', rate of 0% is not a good surgeon. But in the end, hes still very respectful, he is very humble, he doesn't think of how great he is and is ready to quit once he fail
thing is just because he quits doesn't mean he won't advising or teaching. he is right in the sense that once mistakes start it gets worse from there. so the right move was to move on. the selfish part comes if he also refuses to teach after the fact

"Everything counts." Words to live by.
What does it mean ?
The heart surgeon is a good doctor. Not only is he extremely skilled, he's humble and wise.
"Still good to hear," bro was really humble
Man the doctor who told Murphy to leave and continued with the procedure after he told people to stop would loose his residency so quick.
That's the Chief of Surgery / President of the hospital in later episodes lol.
No he won't.
hes not a mere resident hes the Chief and heir aparent to the presidency hehe

Or Doctor Shaun Murphy
where is the next one?????
I think you have to weigh if you are doing much more good than harm, I don't think I would stop healing people because of that mistake.
He didn't stop healing, he stopped doing surgery
Then you would kill so many people

Why is Andrews always wearing a colourful surgical cap?
He wants to represent his culture as a head surgeon
And he is little fashionable for his outfit to look good
Cultural roots matters I guess.

At the start, no face masks? Why though?
They didnt made an incision they were just inserting a guide tube inside the artery to maybe insert a stent.
Is that the doctor of Oliver on arrow?
Episode number?

Why that guy wearing a cap
Which episode
Can anybody thought about filming on this topic?😂😂😂
Nah he needs an Oscar for saying Shaun to leave😂
I truly cannot stand people like Dr. Andrews. I mean he’s a good person and he means well, but when it comes to his job, he acts like a jerk
He is the jerk you need at the job place
I think it's a matter of morals. He wanted to avoid errors because it might become a big one. He made a choice and stuck by it.
Which means the writing is good. They want you to feel that way. Which is why they write the character that way.
Where can i see this whole movie
Netflix
They fr first don't listen to him and have to go to him only when it gets worst
The reality is that if he were to retire in the real world we’d be losing a much neaded CT surgeon with valuable experience.
It seems like many of the doctors don't take Shaun seriously because of his autism
Wer the nxt epi

This dr Shaun guy sure is annoying.
Well you think he’s annoying because that’s your opinion. Nobody cares if you think he’s annoying. We don’t care about your opinion.
Well i like him ❤
Cause he is autistic, the actor is really good portraying that.
