He is an inspiring guitarist who makes people want to pick up guitar and learn it.

@@balialharris7446 only a problem if your solo goes up to the top of the fretboard on the e string. But even in that case you just improvise down an octave. It’s just a matter of knowing where each note is on each string throughout the fretboard, something most serious players master early on. You can pick just about any guitarist and find a video of them doing this exact same thing. Sometimes they’ll finish the whole song, sometimes their tech will bring them a new guitar, which they switch seamlessly. There’s a clip of BB King actually changing the string himself while he plays and sings! One of Stevie Ray Vaughan seamlessly switching guitars while still playing, switching from one to the other in between beats. You can probably search “string breaks” and find some good ones.

The weight balance is really weird so it dropped like a sack of potatoes lol that and 22 frets instead of 24 just made the decision easier. No weird tuning issues with my Jacksons, Charvels. nor Washburns so far. However a Sunburst LP is always a beauty to look at! I was tempted recently but restrained myself lol

Forget 09 and 10 gauge strings. He needs like a custom-made 015 gauge set and work his way down. His forearms are massive. Ernie Ball needs to create something to deal with a player that can bend a low E string 2 and a half steps without breaking a sweat
Nicely done. Straight up an octave on the B string which took him to the limits of his guitar which is the 24th fret I believe. Good improv there dude. I've seen the one where that fan tackles him and he tries to carry on but it's knocked 3 of of his highest strings (the ones he's using) severely out of tune. So as he swapped guitars, as he took the guitar he flawlessly picked up on where the solo would be. I like Slash. He's very Slash, but I like him for that.
This is great, and does show great skill, but also it's not like Slash is a high-school kid that's going to fall apart on stage because his string breaks. He's a pro who's been playing for decades, of course he's going to get the job done.
I only listen to djent/Polyphia, for most of my life, I barely know most mainstream things and guitarists like Vai or santeaini and slash, I didn't expect slash to actually be pretty decent.
To me, the most interesting thing about this video is the way, after breaking the string, he lowers the guitar and pushes on the neck. When you break a string, the reduced tension on the neck makes the rest of the strings go out of tune. I'm guessing that pushing on the neck like that helps put the guitar back in tune? I guess as someone who breaks a lot of strings, Slash knows tricks like that!

I only listen to djent/Polyphia, for most of my life, I barely know most mainstream things and guitarists like Vai or santeaini and slash, I didn't expect slash to actually be pretty decent.

To me, the most interesting thing about this video is the way, after breaking the string, he lowers the guitar and pushes on the neck. When you break a string, the reduced tension on the neck makes the rest of the strings go out of tune. I'm guessing that pushing on the neck like that helps put the guitar back in tune? I guess as someone who breaks a lot of strings, Slash knows tricks like that!
