  • I talk about some of the main manuals and references that I have in the office working as a traffic engineer. These days, most of my manuals and references are digital, but not all of them!

Can you do a video on reading a Traffic Study Plan/Report? What would be the first things you would look at while reviewing a study/plan?

Hmmmm, interesting idea. I'll think about it. I don't know how many people who watch this channel actually would make use of that information. It's very specialized.

What digital books and manuals fo you recommend? Are there any traffic engineering textbooks that you recommend?

There are more specialized books/manuals depending on what you want to know at a deeper level. The Traffic Signal Timing Manual is a good resource (and free). NACTO guides are good for more urban environments. I don't have a good traffic engineering textbook off the top of my head since it's been awhile when I was in university.

    What is the TE exam?

The TE exam is the traffic engineer exam. I don't think it is offered in many states. If you live/work in California, it is great to have completed it. It's an 8 hour exam but all on traffic engineering. It's not recognized outside of the state.
