So good and the world 'came together' for one magic day... We need the 'spirit' of Live Aid more than ever today.... #guitarsnotguns ....✌
The good times is gone. I'm crying, this video is so beautiful
Neil Young is amazing! Unforgettable!
Good old Niel, real heart of gold out of Winterpeg:) You've been rocking the free world since the 60's, keep on rocking ... in these COVID days, the world needs U, our buddies south off the border need your songs, the southern man needs you, Alabama with its wheel in the ditch is crying out 4 help! ROCK ON from St-John to Nanaimo:)))
My FAVORITE day in music history. And Neil is one of my favorites, performing my favorite song!!
this song always makes me so sad
Can't believe live aid still has un uploaded performances keep em going!
There's a good 20+ songs to go yet. Alas one of them is Solid by Ashford & Simpson which despite 35 years of archive sweeps, along with the first few bars of Time the Avenger by The Pretenders, is all that is missing of the Philly and Wembley shows.
Vrdd 😆😆😆
I wish they'd release an updated Live Aid DVD adding performances like this one. Plus technology has improved to help clean up the audio and video so well.
@Live Aid Archive That would be cool, if only to have the audio in HD since the video wouldn't benefit at all.
@@smileforeleanorfrancis There are two fan made 1080i upscales of Queens performance here on TH-cam and the later one (unfortunately since blocked in my country) especially looks noticeably better than the DVD. I don't know the practicality of upscaling all surviving performances (provided the artists give clearance, that means you Santana and Led Zep) but if doable it would also be cool to include all surviving audiotracks as well, they potentially being original BBC/ABC TV mono, original MTV stereo, original BBC/syndicated radio stereo (often noticeably different from the MTV stereo), 2004 stereo re-mix and 2004 5.1 re-mix.
Leno on violin
I was there, and I’ve been searching for footage of my friends and I in the crowd. Lots of crowd shots in this video, but the search goes on...
What performance do you like rewatch?
Denton Williams I’ve been rewatching a ton of videos for the anniversary. Many performances I haven’t seen in 35 years! We were there for Zeppelin, and they were our favorites, but not really my favorite Zep songs. Right now, I’m leaning toward The Cars’ “Drive” or Clapton’s “Layla”, but that can change. What a day...
The song where one of Australia’s greatest bands picked up there name. Such a great song
I searched for the song title to see if anyone besides the Cowboy Junkies had covered it, only to find that most of the results were from that band, not versions of this song.
I just turned 22
I like the Cowboy Junkies cover a lot...great song great Neil great Young....
Jay Leno on the fiddle. What a star-studded affair.
Yeahhh
More like YEEEEHAAAAAAAGHHHHHH!!!
Legend
As long as Neil is sheltered by the powder and the finger, I’ll support this song?

the legend....
Is this the ABC audio mix? The one used on the MTV feed is noticeably a little denser and heavier than this. EDIT: We appear to have a few alternative angles so I'm guessing yeah this is the version that went out live on ABC (and by extension the BBC)
I gots me a feelin' this is the ABC audio mix fed through the soundboard line onto the original 24track analogue tape, and then digitalised.
Canadians ehh.
Half of my fav.bands r canuks

The band was the International Harvesters, but who were those women in the long dresses?

That there's a pretty peppy tempo.
Like most of the other acts he had a 17 minute slot with the plug pulled mid-song if he over ran by more than 20 seconds. The Pretenders also played a couple of their hits at noticeably faster tempo than the original recordings for the same reason.
I'm hosting a epic epic show in my den wanna come on ajpw and come here??
Neil is better than bob Dylan , like man and like artist
