- Neil Young performing at Live Aid in front of 100,000 people in the John F. Kennedy Stadium, Philadelphia USA on the 13th July, 1985. The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

I grew up on this amazing song in high school in the early 70's in St. Louis. I'm 63yo now. lol It has aged well. Much better than myself! ;)

I'm from Bethalto Illinois just across the mighty Mississippi river from St. Louis was 18 years old watching this filled with hope and promise. Wanting to escape to a better place and future. What happened time slipped away 35 years later living California wondering what happened to the world!? 🤯2020/2021 crazy! Helpless

Over the years some have knocked Neil's voice..I have always disagreed. No one I can recall has the same plaintive and emotionally impactful voice. You can literally feel the pain coming from him..Legends become such because they change us somehow....those goosebumps you feel when you hear this are that legacy.

I was 14 years old from NY, we went and at the time my uncle said to me "this is your woodstock". A memory I will always cherish. That day everybody was one, it didn't matter which genre you followed. Simpler and crazier times back then. Would much rather be back in 85 then here now.

I've had the pleasure to see Neil play live 13 times. Every concert was beautiful. Never a bad performance. Maybe I'm a bit bias but that's ok. Neil is my favorite Canadian artist.
