86 needs a nice clean and crisp new wheel but that OEM would be a rad piece for the display wall for sure!

That diff noise is not normal even if it’s a lsd. That whine is from the ring gear and pinion not set up correctly. Fully recommend sending the pumpkin to weir to get rebuilt right. 👌
could remove the stock sunroof Dustin and put in a universal sun roof into it so you can still have a sun roof but with new seals and it will just be a manual opening roof which would allow you to get rid of the rails and the stock sun roof. and then get a none sun roof head liner to cut the opening of the new roof into.
With all the OEM+ upgrades you’re doing, you gotta get a nice steering wheel in the 86!
My gtr has dual wastegates it’s plumbed back through the exhaust still sounds insane

Cut an inch or so at the bottoms of the main hoop. I did it with my wrx hatch back since Japan didn’t have the sunroof of models. Nothing else needed to be cut.
Cut the base plates off the bottom of the cage legs cut the legs down a little and reweld the plates back on with it been a bolt in cage
Dustin I know there’s companies out there that make a sunroof delete kit might want to look at that first👍🏽🤙🏽😊
I don't know when you started doing it exactly... BUT SO SO GLAD you're using 60fps for videos! Sometimes handheld vlogging in 24fps can get too shaky and jumpy to enjoy.

Cant you just remove the rails and install some brackets to keep up the sunroof. Put new seals, Suade a non sunroof headliner. Sunroof delete without paint or permanent modifications.
100% a new steering wheel. Will freshen the look and add that personal touch. Driver mods are always essential.
You could throw more sounds dampening material inside the car that’ll help with the diff noise

The cage not fitting with the sunroof is really a blessing in disguise. You need to delete the sunroof anyway, and now you can do a black headliner with SOS.

Get a carbon fiber roof for the 86, it will lower the center of gravity and weight. Double bonus.

Im sure others have said this already but if the diff is whining like that, its probably because the ring and pinion gears arent meshing properly. Might want to have a professional diff shop take a look at it
it's getting rebuilt soon.

Can you just replace the roof for a carbon roof like DK's AE86? At least that should work and increase body rigidity and lower the center of gravity. And when will the JDM Trueno front and rear bumper come in for the AE86?

I'd fix the sunroof and put new seals in it and get the right cage for it. Sell the old cage.

Nardi 330mm or Personal wheel are great in the AE86. Don't keep the OEM wheel LOL. Bummer about the cusco cage but im sure it'll all work out. Maybe go full-send Carbon Fiber roof instead of just deleting the sunroof heh

as much as I LOVE this build, the cusco cage doesn't do it for me. i like the idea behind keeping it a JDM style. but the cusco cages like to fold and bend very easily in wrecks(God Forbid). they're not really made for the purposes of what an actual cage is made for. just my take on it though.
Fix the sunroof and get another cadge.

Skip the Cusco cage or any bars for a street car. Just make sure your seat belts work lol. Also for you to run sliders you'll have to modify the mounts and floor plan. It's a known problem for tall people.

New to your channel and I live in cali and when I saw who was doing the tuning let's just say they have less then stellar reviews of work they have done. You should REALLY check out Marsh Tuning they did adamlz's car and he beat's the day light out of his car's. I know you have put nothing but money and time into this build but please at least do a little more research on who really know's how to tune those gtr's on link

Loving the AE86 content! Wonder if you could find the same steering wheel from the show? Buuut i do love the personal wheels, had one in my mx5 for years! Bummer on the cage but sealing the roof will def be worth the extra work! Plus save a bit of weight! Nicer roof liner could be a nice interior mod down the line too!
