The styling of these cars have really grown on me for the past few years! I really want to eventually buy one, hopefully sometime next year! I would go for the 350 F Sport with the red leather interior & ether the black or white exterior. I currently drive a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 that I bought new in 2015 & it has been a great reliable car, but I want to step up to a luxury sports sedan with better handling & also want a few more features such as cooled seats which the Camry doesn't offer them. I've been wanting to step up to a Lexus for a while now. Some of my relatives currently own or have owned Lexus' over the years & they've all been great & super reliable. My Camry is a huge improvement over all of my 3 previous cars combined, but this Lexus would be another huge improvement.
I ended up buying a used 2017 IS200t F-Sport (gray exterior, red interior) last year with 15k miles for only $27,500 (It was around $45k new) & it's been the best car ever so far! The turbo engine is punchy (especially in sport mode) & has plenty of power for me & the ride is very comfortable & well controlled (it rides better than my Camry did). The 8-speed auto is excellent, very smooth & shifts quickly. The seats are very soft & very comfortable & hold you in place very well. These cars aren't going for much money in the used car market right now cause many people want SUV's / Crossovers for the space.
Great cars. I have a IS300 hybrid and had a gen2 is250 previously. Both cars are supremely built and luxurious. I only wish they had put the 3.5v6 hybrid engine from the GS into the IS. I would have gladly sacrificed mpg for the extra speed
@@03Deltaintegrale I actually traded in my IS & bought a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport three years ago which is a massive improvement from my IS in nearly every way. The 3.5L V6 is fantastic & a huge upgrade from the turbo 4, but I would for sure go with the 450h hybrid if I bought another GS like you mentioned, but they're very hard to find.
"...a more rewarding experience where it matters more - on the track!" Oh boy. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that 99.5% of Lexus models sold never see a track. I like Motorweek, but their emphasis on track performance isn't helpful in deciding whether to purchase a car. Lexus's reliability is its strong suit, and that never gets mentioned.
Paul J it’s a Lexus. Of course it’s going to be reliable. And what matters is what they hoots in suits wanna do in their Saturdays while still having an overall good daily driver. After all, money like that doesn’t come idling around.
Just got my Lexus IS250 on 07/16/2013. So cool to be one of the first to be driving around in Palm Beach, FL. Had a 2013 Lexus IS250, that car was a lemon. LFA ( Lexus Headquarter Rep) came out before Florida lemon law State attorney got involved. Smart way to go I think. Bottom line Lexus made my HAPPY. Handling on the 2014 is worlds better. Key down notes I think: Old car had a 13 speaker sounds system, the new only has eight speaker. Bottom line the old one had a Much better sound system.
I just walked past this car it was parked a block away from my house, HANDS DOWN BEST looking car in the class i was shocked at how much design Lexus has put into this car. pics and video does not do this car justice. It looks so damn good a couple was walking by the same time I was and I noticed them looking at the car also. Bravo Lexus
What I have learned from all these reviews that one single company cannot make all line of cars what people want ever. Its impossible and enormous thing to comply.
No sunglass holder on the 2014, I would think thats a big down for most. I never use them anyway but a lot of people do. 2014 is more mainstream, and the 2013 was just classier I think. Btw the 2013 had a better interior as well, not that Im saying the new is bad but you can see the cost cutting for sure. The 2013 interior doors and panels are way better then the new ones. I do love the new 2014 IS, I must say.
The price of the new IS is truly a deal breaker. I would have expected the 250 to start at around 29k, which would make far more sense based on its more aggressive styling that will in no way appeal to those who can afford a 37k price range...
Test drove these a lot. It is NOT particularly sharp on the track. There are better choices for sport, this is a luxury car with sporty handling and decent acceleration, not a super fun machine. Pick up a used GS350 and enjoy the extra space and refinement.
But the problem with the new azera is the quality of the ride and material are far less better than the Lexus. The azera is kinda like a luxury Sonata so the interior quality is about the same than a Azera.
As a current Mitsubishi EVO owner.... I really like the styling of this thing and that LFA dash alone makes me want to go buy it. The deal braker for me however is the trunk hinges.... corolla hinges on a luxury vehicle? Even the 22,000 dollar mustang v6 has the shock strut system for its trunk.
Get real. The Equus looks better than the re-hashed 2006-era LS460 that Lexus is still serving up. The Azera looks better than the bland and boring new 2013 ES350.
Current Gen Lexus and Toyota are the ugliest they have been ever.. Whats wrong with the current design team? Their cars used to be so visually appealing, but not any more.
You are bull-craping how is this another overrated Toyota? The IS-350F is a blast to drive. You must think that whatever Mercedes and BMW poop out must come from God.
These look really good in the road imo.
I'd take a Lexus IS over a Caddy ATS anyday
Presentation feels like the 90s. Reading off a script, 90s voice style presentation. I guess its cool if your old...
Mo Mare
Well, the show came on in the 70's.
306 hp is underpowered?

nothing wrong with a Corolla :) But that LEXUS IS is super sexy :D

I test drove the new is 250 awd 2014 last week and must say! It drove the same as my 2006 is awd that I got new! Just sayen!
How do you know that? Have you seen my Sonata?
What've they done to the headlights!? :-o
I think that in order to conclude that the IS looks better than my Sonata, then yes, you probably do need to see it.
why does this review sound like it came from the Price is Right..
I just walked past this car it was parked a block away from my house, HANDS DOWN BEST looking car in the class i was shocked at how much design Lexus has put into this car. pics and video does not do this car justice. Bravo Lexus
The car looks futuristic!
What I have learned from all these reviews that one single company cannot make all line of cars what people want ever. Its impossible and enormous thing to comply.
Wish I could afford one, not with my current job though. I guess I can afford a 2014 Corolla S ROFLLLLLL
Most reliable sports sedan

@0:11 uncle fester, is that you??

0:25 - why is this guy yelling? He hurts my ears.
😅 True
2014 infiniti q50 or 2014 lexus is
Is350
I'm a lexus fan but not really feeling the design on this new IS.. and the price have gone up like 5 gran over a few years.
rpaul247
Thank da joos at the federal Reserve.
Motorweek sucks now! Not what it uses to be. No 0-60, no lateral acceleration test, no braking. No thanks!
dont compare Huyndai and Lexus because Huyndai can never be better than a Lexus , only when Lexus not making the car anymore
Test drove these a lot. It is NOT particularly sharp on the track. There are better choices for sport, this is a luxury car with sporty handling and decent acceleration, not a super fun machine. Pick up a used GS350 and enjoy the extra space and refinement.
I saw a black today I like it

BMW is already softened up its most selling car to compete with Lexus, these guys are still whining about the handling of the Lexus' :)
80% of cars for sale is dependable. It just requires fixing.
looks better in black
I don't really like the new headlights that much.
My neighbor got a 2013 LX silver
Ayy doubleyuu deeeee
Get real. The Equus looks better than the re-hashed 2006-era LS460 that Lexus is still serving up. The Azera looks better than the bland and boring new 2013 ES350.
No it's not. Not by a long shot.
The front looks awful on both versions. They should have stuck with the original LF-CC design.
smh that front though. I see where they tryna go with the grill looing like a X but no
compared to the ats's 321 hp.........yes
The IS looks better than the ATS...
ATS over Lexus IS? you mad bro. These square caddies are the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
Q50 ftw
Denmark Rupee
If you hate resale value.
Good lord that thing is ugly. The GS350 looks awesome. Someone f uped on this. Front end reminds me of the mouth of a Predator.
if you have enough money to buy a lexus a drive it , i dont think you fuking want a huyndai anymore , save some money and enjoy ok haha
My 3-year-old Sonata still looks better. C'mon Lexus, you can do better.
Well yah if you put the break down in that luxurious Toyota you'll probably be albe to speed up. Brakes are over rated anyway
Current Gen Lexus and Toyota are the ugliest they have been ever.. Whats wrong with the current design team? Their cars used to be so visually appealing, but not any more.
q50
infiniti q50 anyday! better tech, better engine & better looks. The q50 has the same engine as the is350 cheaper than the 350 & faster..
pty95 No limited slip differential on Infiniti and probably won’t last as long either
NOTHING from Hyundai looks better than ANYTHING from Lexus. Keep dreaming.
predator mandibles
lol @ interiors dont get much better than lexus
Underpowerd..........give me my ats back!!!
I think I'd get the Infiniti Q50 instead
ugly headlights
God that thing is ugly.
that ugly thing? No.
Caddy's ATS has this car covered on all corners. This car is insanely ugly!
Another overrated Toyota.
You are bull-craping how is this another overrated Toyota? The IS-350F is a blast to drive. You must think that whatever Mercedes and BMW poop out must come from God.
Monsieur Africain Don't like Mercedes or BMW. Lexus is light years better when it come tor reliability but they're all overpriced.
im1greatman true
Lexus in general is a lot more affordable new than mercedes or bmw, and they hold their value a lot longer because of the reliability.
kgisabeast these days I'd say they are all around the same price when configured similarly. But like you said Lexus is a whole lot more reliable.
