Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a practical lifestyle approach to “keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.
We moved six months ago to our cozy cottage, and we are in the process of fixing it up. I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what remodeling stage we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

I don’t blame you for taking a little time off to rejuvenate yourself! We all need a rest! Spending time with your daughter is such a precious gift! Unfortunately, we can only meet up twice a month, because of our jobs ( my daughter is a registered nurse practitioner and I’m a carer, so meeting up is a challenge! lol!
I loved the look of your pumpkin soup and bread, must try both recipes out! Like yourself I absolutely love grated Parmesan cheese and a little grate of nutmeg on top of my creamy soups!

What a beautiful presentation of everything you both prepared. The best part was watching you both work together in the kitchen with one another. I’ve never tasted pumpkin soup but I sure wanted a bowl with the yummy bread. We have a few restaurants here where I live that don’t serve bread with their meals and that’s just sad to me because I feel bread completes the meal. At least for me it does. Nice to see another video of you out. I know what you mean with going through stuff and sorting out. I don't have that much but I am in the process of reorganising and already collected loads of things that are no longer for us at this time in our life. I also wanted to say your pizza dough recipe is awesome. It is the only one I use these days after trying several. I got it from a video where you were preparing freezer meals. And it is so easy and forgiving. Best dough I've ever made.

@@ForgottenWayFarms it is for us now aswell. So quickly put together and sometimes I let it rise, other times when pizza is a last moment decision I use it straight away and the results are always amazing. I just had to play around with thickness of rolling it out for how my family prefers it and cooking times for our oven (currently using the convection function of my microwave since my main oven broke) but when you have that in place it's just so easy and quick.
I love this mother and daughter I have one daughter. She is a hard worker as a 911 operator but wants nothing to do with the kitchen 🤷🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️🤗

The top view of candles flickering ,the shine on that beautiful bread and golden soup and crunchy seeds is so stunning. What a gorgeous meal. We had butternut soup a few days ago and tonight well have the last of it with our home made pizzas . Yum. We love a sprinkling of crispy bacon bits to garnish our soup and I made a garlic bread loaf to go with it last time. That was so yummy. Your kittens are so sweet. We adore our cats for cosy living. I have our elderly one on my lap as I watch this actually. She was never a cuddly cat until she got older and now is a Lap cat. She was always into mischief and constantly moving as a young one. Our other 2 girls are pretty quiet and live to follow us all over the property like dogs. Haha. Thank you for sharing the beauty and I'm trying extra hard to be a clean as I go person , it's finally working 😅. Much love to you darlings ❤❤
Our cats can get rambunctious, but they are great lap cats too. It’s been so enjoyable having them around ❤️ your food always sounds so delicious too! I always love hearing from you friend, sending lots of love and hugs to you and your family 🥰

It’s a pumpkin day here as well. I think a lot of us are going through and purging this year, it’s very freeing to let go of excess. Looks like a lovely day ❤️

@@ForgottenWayFarms sometimes it’s hard it’s like how come I have this many cookbooks because I love cooking that’s probably why but I like to look at them so it was time to purge a lot of those too. I purged them earlier last year but I did a little bit more yeah, I’ve still got two more good size pumpkins from the garden but I have a lot of squash still so little by little and the dogs help me eat it cause it’s good for them too. Besides, how can you not love pumpkin and squash?
@@sharenp3839 I agree who can’t love pumpkins and squash ❤️ cookbooks are very hard for me to purge 😂 and I rarely do. But every once awhile I realize I have not looked at a certain book for years and then I ask myself do I need it? Totally get it.

I think people focus too much on the darkness and cold, but don’t realize the opportunity to turn that to cozy and peaceful. I look at it as a way to slow down and reset. To make my home even cozier and restorative for us. I think if we all honored the seasons for what they bring, we would be far more calm and happy! Lovely, lovely video! Thank you!

The double candle that's more plain? If that makes sense are Tiffin Franciscan candle holders. Made roughly 1960s in Tiffin, Ohio. A good buy, as they run about 40-45$. The more decorative double ( that you have burning while making bread are vintage Indiana Glass Co. That one runs about 20-25$ I'm not sure what the two singles look like. So I can't say. Still for the 2$ a piece you've done good.

I have a pair similar. They belonged to a friend of my Mothers and i believe they were a wedding gift to her friend. So I believe late 1930 early 1940. This is a guess on my part.

Me, too! I’ve been reading a lot of historical fiction set during the 1600s and 1700s lately, and I’m amazed by our forefather’s courage, determination, and willingness to suffer. It’s inspiring.
