It has been too long! Though I thoroughly enjoyed my break this month, I am glad to be back creating new videos for you. It is my hope, this year, to continue building this little historical fantasy world in my Prairie Kitchen here at Under A Tin Roof Farm. Join me in the kitchen as we bake Cinnamon Raisin Orange Muffins, Crusty Spelt Bread, and a pot of Apple Carrot Pumpkin Soup. Watch as I welcome you into a cozy fantasy world of cooking! These cozy, soothing sounds will transport you to my cottage kitchen on the Iowa prairie. Cozy sounds such as simmering soup, cutting vegetables, crackling fire, bird song, whistling kettle, snow falling, soft spoken voice, and cats purring are all featured in this video.

Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your concern about our kitties! I appreciate your kind hearts and want you to know that they are well loved. As a ND individual, I am a big lover of cats and animals and always have been. We did not grow up on a farm, so I never had outdoor animals before and always had house cats. Now after 7 years of living in the country, cats just kind of show up here and make our farm their home because I feed them cat food and provide them with a heated shelter. I just can’t help myself and feel bad for them! They are barn cats and catch rodents that would otherwise eat the feed for our livestock. Some are indoor/outdoor cats, and some are feral cats that have either wandered to our farm or have been dumped on the roadside. We often have people dump cats by our farm because they don’t want them anymore.
I hope to provide them with a safe place to land, and I do so by providing outdoor shelters that I heat for them as is often recommended and we also take them to be spayed/neutered if we can.
I apologize if this video felt insensitive! That was certainly not my intention. I just don’t always have the time to capture every aspect of my week and did not think to share all of their moments but I will try my best to show their shelter more. I just thought it was a lovely moment to see them enjoying life when they decided to spend some time outside on this particular week.

Please when you use eggs, don't rush to throw the shells away, because there is much more egg white that you are throwing away... And also, your videos are very asma and beautiful, but the way you cut the onions is really not...! Please improve your skill in cutting them so you can cut them quietly, and all in the same size, which is gonna be better for the taste and for the recipe. Much love!
Thank you for your video today. I'm 67 and live alone with my 2 kitties , Bunny and Oliver. We live in a 1940s cottage. It's very sweet but lonely for me. I Iike to play vintage music or watch d movies. We have our treat time and my Earl Gray tea every day and cuddle. I look forward to your recipes and trying them . The soup looks really good! It‘s one of my favourites this time of year. It reminds me when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, it was all she wanted me to eat, so sometimes I still call her my little pumpkin.
In any case, if you can get your hands on a little bit of ground turmeric, add a little bit to the soup next time - it really helps bring out the flavours of the other ingredients and I think something about it helps against the cold as well.

@@hannahrose5739 yes, they do. Some are indoor/outdoor. Others are feral/barn cats. They also have a heated cat house and we have several outbuildings with hay built up for them.
