My whole family developed Covid just as temperatures started to plummet. We are all still healing and at the end of sicknesses. It is -31 here and I don't think the high today got above -20 today. We have had a fire going constantly for two days now. My husband stays up late to keep it going and I wake up early. Either way, we are so blessed to have our small little house, my children who are getting healthier, and each other who are still getting healthy. I am grateful to God for all the little luxuries that we have. My new couch is soft and warm and allows my daughter and I to snuggle together. My new fridge my mother helped us buy after our 20 something year old fridge was SOOOO past it's date. The new fridge has ice in the freezer and made drinking water so much nicer and more encouraging for my kids. I am grateful my son feels he needs to do the hard work of bringing in wood so his sick ma doesn't. I am grateful I had enough sick/vacation time at my work that I could take a week off from work to heal. My husband isn't so lucky and had to go to work sooner than he should have. I am so blessed by God to have all these gifts He has given me, as unworthy as I am.

As I sit here in the morning watching your video I always get such a sense of peace. I am in the season of my life that I am retired and find my slow mornings renew me.
I am amazed at our similarities, home, cozy life, love of animals and nature and all that the Lord blesses us with each day a slow and simple life. Being a steward to what we are blessed with is our responsibility. I am grateful for all that I have each day and you too!

As I snuggle down with my cup of coffee with my woodstove going in my tiny house, I felt as though we were visiting, enjoying similar experiences. The temperature here is 30°F but the dampness makes it feel colder. I have no alternative heat just my woodstove so in the mornings it’s pretty cold, getting out of my warm blankets. My little opinionated dog gets me up at five for the potty breaks. It’s a good life, a quiet life, a life where I can hear God’s voice so much clearer.
I do not have chickens, but my sister does and she lives a few acres away . She walks down most mornings for a cup of coffee and a chat. I am actually on her land. I rent about 2 acres from her. There are many benefits as we share spiritually and physically watch out for each other. I am 69 and she is 72. She takes care of three of her adult children, who have challenges. And cared for her husband for 19 years as a stroke victim he passed away nine months ago. I’ve been separated for 8 1/2 years. I have grown children and grandchildren and actually three great grandchildren. They are all wonderful.
My sister is a teacher/tutor in a small Christian school. I travel to my jobs having built out of camper on the back of my truck so that I could stay on the job for weeks at a time when need be. My job is organizer/Declutter /house cleaner/barn-shop cleaner and Hauler of debris. I really should come up with a shorter job name😳

Thank you so much for making these videos. My husband I work crazy hectic ministry jobs right now and I am looking forward to our retirement. Your videos have inspired me to start incorporating “slow living” into as much of my daily life, as I can now, so I can “slip into” the rest of “slow living” like a comfortable pair of slippers, when we retire. Good morning! We also heat our home with a woodstove. Even though it is a lot of work and a bit messy 😅, I love heating our home this way. We have no natural gas option in my rural area, so heating with electricity is soooo expensive. Thank you for sharing your morning and snowstorm with us. ❤

I can’t wait until I can afford to get a wood stove. I grew up with wood heat and it was so nice. We had a lot of power outages and even cooked on our wood stove during those times. Oh and I read all the little house books as a kid and the long winter was my absolute favorite ❤

I exercise after prayer and Bible reading. I usually walk for 30 minutes around the neighborhood or 15 minutes of HIIT jumping jacks. Then I shower and have breakfast.

Hi from Finland! We have just had the coldest week this winter with temperatures around -16 degrees Farenheit. Cold!! We, too, love our wood burning stove. Ours is massive, it stores heat in its stones. We also bake casseroles, rootvegetables and porridges in it.

Aww I miss the feeling of being snowed in and allowing myself to finally fully relax and get cozy because...well there's nothing else to be done! 😊 In our area in Italy it doesn't snow much. We use a pellet stove and although it's not wood, the beautiful feeling of warmth and watching the flames dance are still there ❤ Thank you for these few minutes of godly wholesome company my dear 😘

Like you we rely more and more on our woodburner to heat the living area, fuel in the UK is very expensive and even though we only heat the house using the central heating for three hours in the morning and evening set to 18.5 degrees out combined gas and electric per month for a modest house with three adults is almost £300, I just don't know how to cut back anymore. I'm constantly switching off lights, I use the washing machine only two-three times per week, no tumble dryer, I don't use the oven everyday and instead use a slow/pressure cooker and microwave. It's extortionate! Our house is 100 years old and as insulated as it can be, but it is a cold house nonetheless.
