Abby Jo, your videos are so soothing and comforting. Your videos provided relief to me during the first year following my husband's passing. Thanks for what you do. Prayers for a wonderful and peaceful 2023 for you, your family, and everyone who watches your channel. ❤🙏
Another warm, comforting video that leaves me feeling like I've been invited into your cozy home! I just love your videos. I share your approach to winter. I love to embrace it and to live in a way that suits the season. I enjoyed the baking and the small projects. It's lovely to see those things as you're doing them. And I really liked you sitting down at the end to chat to us. A balm for the soul.
Buongiorno Abby, ti ammiro tanto e condivido con te questo modo di vivere in serenità la vita di tutti i giorni con la famiglia. È la ricchezza più grande. Grazie x le tue ricette.
Hi Abby Jo. I have really enjoyed your videos over the past year. You and your family are so talented and have such a gentle spirit about you all. I lived in Chicago area for over 25 years but now am retired in SC. We don’t have much of a winter here but do enjoy the “NOT summer”/100+degrees and humid weather. I am a big crocheter and have vowed to finish all my blankets that I have started before I begin any new ones. I also read more and more and my husband is starting to read as well. He said today as he was enjoying his coffee and reading “I am becoming like you”.💕😊📚🧶🏡
Awww, I'm so gad to hear that you enjoy our videos :) Chicago to SC is a big change! I would rejoice in the cooler months too ;) Reading and crocheting are favorites around here too!
Ooh I love the Sheila Maid!! My husband is going to make me a drying rack similar to that, and mount it in our stairwell. That cake looks amazing, lovely video as always.🥰
During the New England winter I plan my front yard garden. Last year I added a sitting area to it. I can putter in the garden and then sit and enjoy reading and chatting with my neighbors. I have inspired a few neighbors to start their own gardens. City life doesn't mean we can't have a veggie, fruit and flower filled garden. No lawn in my front yard...and I am so happy there.
Abby Jo…I am just taking down my trees and all the bric a brac of Christmas this week. I celebrate every holiday so I don’t even start Christmas until after Thanksgiving knowing that I have until the middle of February before I feel the Christmas season must end. For me every day is slow living due to the 3rd back surgery leaving me a lot less agile but one learns to appreciate all the accomplishments more and learn to truly live each day as God-centered as I can. I was watching A Country Life a few weeks ago and what a sweet treat to see Mom and daughter watching one of your vlogs as they were in the kitchen. Today I’m watching your latest vlog and you are baking with cranberries which A Country Life is a Wisconsin cranberry farm that Warren and Jennifer share quite a bit of cranberry life in her vlogs. Jennifer was very complimentary about your channel and who knows, those cranberries could very well have come from their farm! I enjoyed the connection I made because I watch you both for the same reason and that’s to be enlightened and entertained. Enjoy the beautiful Michigan weather up there in the U.P. and I look forward to the next visit with you. Daniel has a real gift in his endeavors around your home remodel, what a blessing for you both!!!:):):)
I love that you take your Christmas stuff down slowly too ❤️ sounds like you really have a grasp on appreciating the everyday. Someone said she gave me a shout out, but I didn’t know I was in a video, how very sweet. I will check her out ☺️ it’s always good to hear from you. ❤️
I look forward to each and every video that you and your family make. There is just something so special about the intentionality that you put into everything that you do. I also feel like you have a really great lifestyle. To be able to live in such a slow way, enjoying every moment to its fullest. It’s a joy to watch! The cake looks delicious, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cranberry-chocolate combination before. Thanks for a lovely video! ❤
That chandelier is just perfect. It looks like it belongs right there . Your home is really coming together beautifully, Abby Jo . ❤ I have that drying rack too. We have to put it up yet. It's lovely and practical, my 2 favourite things. That cake sounds great , the rich chocolate with the brightness of cranberries. Yummy. Thank you so much for taking me along dear ones , have a beautiful winter 😘 ❤
Abby Jo, I so enjoy watching every video!! Living in Tampa, FL it's hard to imagine the slow winter months...I'm not bragging but longing for how you and your family live during those months where you live! Very encouraging and beautiful! Always puts a smile on my face when I watch!! I'm also a thrifter so I can follow you in that way here in Florida even if we don't have the snow!! hahah Blessings to you and your family in 2023!! Keep inspiring all of us with your slow living and reminding us we can also do the same no matter where we live!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and I love that you thrift too! Glad you can enjoy the winter months through watching ours, I know I will be longing for sun soon enough ;) Blessings dear.
Happy New Year to you too! I love your calming & inspiring videos. I cross stitch most every day that satisfies my need to relax. Your chandelier is amazing!
This winter I'm focused on planning for our 2023 garden, taking a complete inventory of our home-canned goods and preps to ensure we're using them timely, creating more large batch dinners so I don't have to cook every night, and reading. Thanks again for a wonderful video and your hair down is stunning!
I have been anxiously awaiting your new video and it was just lovely. Sometimes winter can be hard on so many folks but you bring out the reminders of the beauty of the season with its warm drinks and delicious foods. I find myself cooking more and enjoying the warmth of the dining room table at dinner with my husband. Thank you for all of the beautiful reminders to savor each moment.
Beautiful video, full of sweetness and warmth. Your chandelier is gorgeous! Roast chicken is my absolute favorite comfort food, I put the potatoes and carrots under the chicken too to soak up all that chicken goodness❤ I too keep up my Christmas lights, taking the ornaments off the tree and leave the tree up with lights and crystals. Actually it's going out today, Jan 21rst! I start growing sprouts and micro greens to add fresh greens in the winter months.
Hello, I love your home, the decor is so beautiful. You inspire me to start a vintage gallery wall. I found your channel recently, one cold rainy day here in California, have been watching all your videos. I love how family oriented you are. Thank you so much for all your inspiration. God bless ❤️
I love gallery walls, so glad you are starting one. Half the joy is collecting things for the wall ❤️ I’m so glad you found us, thank you for watching!
I hope that you had a wonderful Birthday Natasha! The chandelier and drying rack are perfect! Enjoy your cozy winter my friend. I haven't seen you with your hair down in a long time; it is gorgeous! I have been enjoying organizing the pantries, cupboards and closets during this slower season.
She had a lovely birthday! Love hearing from you dear, sounds like you are enjoying this slower season and getting things organized! I love to get organized too :)
That chandelier OMG it looks amazing above your dining table. I love watching you float effortlessly around your kitchen. Loved the drying rack too, I need one of those for drying clothes in Winter in my tiny cathedral ceiling cottage.❤
Oh my goodness Abby Jo what a delightful video! I could almost smell the delicious chocolate cake baking and your amazing chicken dinner in your oven 😋. Your home is so inspiring! My goal this year is to simplify and get rid of clutter. The clutter only seems to weigh us down and makes everyday tasks with cleaning and cooking more cumbersome. Your recipes and lovely home brings me happiness and inspiration. Also encouraging us to enjoy every aspect of homemaking and that every moment needs to be special and enjoyable ❤️. Thank you again for opening your lovely home to us and showing that even in the winter months our creativity can be limitless! Sending blessings and hugs! 🤗❤️
I’m so glad you enjoyed it ❤️🥰😍 I agree less clutter the better. Knowing that you are inspired to enjoy your home and embrace the specialness of the every day is wonderful! Blessings to you dear.

I think, it makes the room looks so cosy🥰🏡.
Thank you Abby Jo! It was nice to see your video! Winter is definitely a time to slow down and enjoy simple things. I’ve pull over some knitting projects. Thank you for the chocolate cake recipe!❤️
Hugs my dear friend. Though I probably will never meet you in person. It's so good to see a new video of you. Thank you for inspiring me to settle in for winter. Usually I really dread winter it's so cold and so long. But I think you have birthed a new idea. Slow down. Let your self stop and just be ok with the slow months of being at home. Love you so much....
I'm working on a big 2 story miniature house my father built 30 years ago my 2 grand daughters played and played with it so its time for a makeover(a good way to pass time in this cold weather) Enjoyed the vlog Thank you
Happy NewYear Abby Jo. I always look so forward to your videos. Your daughters Birthday cake looks absolutely delicious, your chandelier is beautiful and your drying rack not only looks serviceable but what a lovely addition to your laundry routine. Thank you for continuing to share with us!
Thankyou for another wonderful visit!! You always relax me, AbbyJo! This month we have been super busy stocking up on all our bulk items such as wheat berries, rolled oats, all the beans, and lots of herbs and spices! My husband and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary by going out camping nearby to our home, (no snow at the moment) last week. We try go for walks as often as we can after our schooling is done for the day. I am busy making your pizza dough recipe for dinner tonight. My girls are upstairs playing with their Calico Critters, and my "men" have just come home from a motorbiking excursion. So pizza is sounding real good now, eaten by our woodstove!
This all sounds so cozy, I love that you are making pizza and I can imagine you all next to the wood cook stove. Such a cozy picture of family like. Congratulations on 32 years of marriage ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wish I could rest but we are busy packing. We bought 1.3 acres last april and have been building our homestead these last 9 months. We get to move in in March! Definitely dreaming about my new garden and chickens.
Happy New Year Abby Jo. What a wonderful video. I don't take my Christmas tree and decorations before January 6th, the feast of Epiphany. Then I slowly transition to my winter decor of snowman. I have some hanging snowmen that I use for door decorations and others just placed around other surfaces in my house. This keeps things from looking barren after Christmas. Then when February comes I get out my valentines decorations. Winter is definitely a time to slow down and plan for the upcoming year ahead.
God bless your time. I admit the garden is on my mind. I have been thinking of things to do inside. Sewing and painting came to mind. I think I need to get to Hobby Lobby and see what presents itself. 😁
Happy to see a new video from you. Hope you’re staying warm up there. Hoping after tomorrow we get out of the lows. I finally started my channel - seed starting season is a good time I think. Wishing you well!
The cake looked amazing! The chandelier is magnificent! What a great tip about the sprouted onion tops! Everything you make makes me hungry, AbbyJo. Roasted chicken is one of our very favorite meals, and the house smells cozy. Your videos never disappoint me!
I like the cranberry chocolate cake idea. Oh I never thought of a lemon in my chicken I usually do a huge onion. We are working on our bathroom it’s been almost 30 years since we originally remodeled it. Oh new flooring too.
I love your kitchen back splash! It reminds me of what was in our kitchen as a kid. I also love the clothes airer....I want one! After the new year began, my daughter and I started a new eating and exercise plan, so we are focusing on that right now. I got several new books for Christmas and I am starting to work my way through those as well. I love all of the Ruth Goodman historical stuff from the BBC (Wartime Farm...Tudor Monastery Farm, etc.) and I got a couple of those books which I'm diving into now. Years ago I read instructions for roasting a chicken that read: roast for 1.5 hours or until the chicken sings. That description delighted me! If you've heard a chicken sizzling around that 1.5 hour mark you'll know what it means by "sing". 😁
I think this was my first winter where I was unlike myself and quite down (being postpartum surely aided in that). God's grace overwhelmed me finally last night and I feel myself again and this video was pure nourishment to my soul. Thank you.
I always enjoy tuning into your videos. Love the chandelier! I’ve never seen black candles like those, maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but I really like it. Stay warm!
I'm also from Michigan and really enjoy the down time of winter! ( but being in the upper lower part we have not had very much snow) I love your video's. they are so relaxing and that cake looked SO good! I would have never thought to put cranberries and chocolate together. will have to give that a try.! also, where is the recipe when I clicked on the chocolate cake recipe it was a different cake with apples on it.
I totally agree, winter is great for down time. That is the cake recipe that I use, I just doubled that recipe. It's a stand by I use all the time for birthdays :)
Love your videos ...Abby Jo ..so good to see you in your warm, cosy home ...baking and cooking ..I enjoy your cookbook Cozy Christmas Baking ..😍🤩😋 A new year ...I loved your roasting pan ...I have never seen one like that with a pourer at one end ...Do you know where it can be bought ..?
Thank you so much! Im so happy you are enjoying the cookbook :) I'm very sad to say that roasting pan is vintage and I found it at a thrift store. It fits perfect in my wood cookstove, so I was thrilled to find it! But you would probably have to just keep your eye out for one.
All is good, thanks for asking :) I keep people more updated on my IG account. My daughter got married and we flew to Idaho for the wedding. Also had a bad flu/cold for several weeks in Feb. We have a new video coming out tomorrow!
Awe my sweet sister good news and bad. So excited for your daughter and sad you have been sick. I can not wait to watch your new video. By the way I have exhausted a few older videos of yours. Sorry lol

I think this was my first winter where I was unlike myself and quite down (being postpartum surely aided in that). God's grace overwhelmed me finally last night and I feel myself again and this video was pure nourishment to my soul. Thank you.
So happy to hear this :) Take care dear one.
I always enjoy tuning into your videos. Love the chandelier! I’ve never seen black candles like those, maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but I really like it. Stay warm!
Thank you! The chandelier is so fun for that room, I’m not sure if black candles are the norm or not? But I sure love them ❤️
Your first videos were amazing
This one .......
Your chandelier is perfect. And that drying rack. Drool.. Lol.
Thank you! I really am enjoying both improvements :)
Your kitchen is so warm and inviting and the Chandelier is absolutely gorgeous. Sending blessings from Texas
Thank you so much!
I’m so excited!!!
🥰 Awww, I’m so glad!
Love your videos ...Abby Jo ..so good to see you in your warm, cosy home ...baking and cooking ..I enjoy your cookbook Cozy Christmas Baking ..😍🤩😋
A new year ...I loved your roasting pan ...I have never seen one like that with a pourer at one end ...Do you know where it can be bought ..?
Thank you so much! Im so happy you are enjoying the cookbook :) I'm very sad to say that roasting pan is vintage and I found it at a thrift store. It fits perfect in my wood cookstove, so I was thrilled to find it! But you would probably have to just keep your eye out for one.
@@ForgottenWayFarms thankyou Abby Jo ..I will see what I can find 🤩🦋⚘

It's actually an old paper canvas from a large store advertisement from long ago.

Thank you, I found it at a thrift store, it's huge!
Where did you buy the crystals for your chandelier?
They came with it, I had just cleaned them and was putting on for the first time. ❤️
Just the pic alone is giving me some serious Hygge feels
Awww 🥰 glad to hear that!
More reading and garden planning. Liz
Lovely ☺️ great way to spend winter days.

Thank you. We are still making videos, we just slowed down to one a month, hopefully, we can up it to 2-3 a month as our work schedule allows
Hey Abby I hope things are ok. Really miss your videos.
All is good, thanks for asking :) I keep people more updated on my IG account. My daughter got married and we flew to Idaho for the wedding. Also had a bad flu/cold for several weeks in Feb. We have a new video coming out tomorrow!
