  • SADISTS! "Up to 12 lashes are allowed on boys under 18." The atrocities of the English in Cyprus, the house blockades and the barbed wire fences...
In the 1950s, EOKA was established with the aim of mounting a military campaign to end the colonial status of Cyprus as a British crown colony and achieve unification with Greece.

The way of cinematographic expression and recording is done with objectivity and accuracy in the events, with the aim of highlighting the historical reality. Ιt is realistic and does not idealize situations at all, it maintains a neutral attitude without influencing the viewer's point of view. Finally, the use of correct speech and logic to explain and comment on the analysis of social, economic and religious issues is noteworthy. My purpose is not to present racist stereotypes and religious disputes but to present reality as it is. All offensive comments will be deleted and offenders will be kicked from my channel ❤

Look at the situation where Cyprus is today? 200 thousand Greek Cypriots exiled from their homes and 40,000 Turkish troops in Cyprus!
The British governments are responsible for this

@@LondonPowerI’m a British soldier who has served on UN peacekeeping duties in Cyprus. I’ve studied the conflict at university and I’ve had the opportunity to meet both Greek and Turkish Cypriots. EOKA was a terrorist organisation. They murdered countless Greek innocents who didn’t share their ideology. From police officers to even a Greek mainland teacher who was shot dead next to his fiancée in a cinema.
EOKA terrorists and the Greek Junta dictatorship brought the Turkish invasion on themselves.
Was the annexation of the north wrong? Yes, but it could have been avoided. EOKA should never have been given a platform.

@@LondonPower Pro-Turkish policy? You do realise the main Turkish Cypriot figures at the time of the emergency had little love for Great Britain? Those like Fazil Kutchuk leader of the Cyprus is Turkish Party disowned the British administration, arguing as history proved they sided with the Greeks. Our Royal families are related. Perhaps EOKA shouldn’t have been murdering Greek police officers? A travesty the Cypriot Government never apologised for until 2012.

@@LondonPower The Turks have had a presence on Cyprus since 1571 when they took the island from the Venetians. Rather a long time before Britain acquired Cyprus? Don’t you agree? The terrorism of EOKA divided Cyprus. The Greek led dismantling of the 1960 constitution divided the island, the installation of a junta dictatorship in Athens, the unlawful removal of Constantine II King of the Hellenes certainly helped in dividing up Cyprus. That junta dictatorship imposing a puppet President in the form of terrorist Nikos Sampson certainly gave Istanbul they excuse they wanted to invade.
Have you actually ever been to Cyprus? As a British soldier I can tell you neither myself or my comrades have ever faced hostility by the peoples of the north or south. Soldiers of both sides are always polite and professional. Veterans of the NG and police have never had a bad word against us, and an elderly former police commander from 1963 came up on the street and thanked me for what the British Army has done to preserve peace on the BZ between both communities. I suggest you leave your bedroom once in a while.
It also seems your main gripe is with the misguided policies of the incompetent European Union.

Nice photo collection, but you haven’t got an awful lot of evidence of British Atrocities. EOKA was pretty much a fascist organisation, and forcing people to join their cause out of fear of what EOKA might do to them. And treated the Turkish population on Cyprus absolutely horribly before and after Independence from the British. That’s why Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974 to protect its people from the Greek Fascists. And I would also like the point out that EOKA killed hundreds of more British personnel than what the British killed in the emergency. I admit that the British hadn’t done the best of things in it’s history. But I thought they acted pretty reasonably in Cyprus compared to Malaya and Kenya.

You're full of rubbish. EOKA did not have anything to do with the Turks. Nothing in its agenda had to do with the Turks. It is the Turks that started the whole situation. By the way, they were not fascists either and did not oblige anyone to join. Take off your colored glasses.

Largely ridiculous propaganda. I was there 1957-1959 and do remember the day British soldiers rounded up our male, adult Greek neighbours in Famagusta after two British Army wives were shot in the back while out shopping - one died. That was how EOKA operated. Of course the soldiers were angry and no doubt brutal. I also remember the EOKA shooting of a bank manager while taking his little boy for a walk. No one would help him or the little boy. The father, a New Zealander, bled to death in the street. Worse still, the burning to death of a Greek man by EOKA. He was tied to a lamp post. I won't even get into the Greek/Turkish atrocities. Let's try to be objective and historically correct about what happened in Cyprus.

This is what happens when a nation decides for the fate of another. The British would say that they came as peacemakers. My question is , who asked you for your help to go anywhere for any reason? As soon as they went to Cyprus, the greatest troubles started on the island. The Greeks were the majority and the Turks the minority, but they were living as neighbors in peace. The British of course never came over for a cup of tea...They came as troublemakers. Not as peacemakers. Sorry but anyone who knows history knows about the British obsession for colonies. And we all know in all cases all around the world how "peacefully" the British make their colonies ... It s a joke if anyone believes that when the army is on a land, it comes for good reasons. EVAGORAS PALLIKARIDIS 19 YEAR OLD BOY WAS IMPRISONED , TORTURED, AND FINALLY HANGED by the British royal military forces and under the signature of the queen Elizabeth the 2nd on the 14th March 1957 . He was the youngest Greek Cypriot fighter in that war among many many others. The British lost in that war, and in 1960, Cyprus was announced an independent country. In 1974, the British allowed the Turks to invade the northern part of Cyprus. Educate yourself, and if you want to know the historical facts, instead of moaning on the comment section, open a book, or go on the internet to find all the information.

I served in an LAD during the Cypriot troubles and saw British troops using crowd control methods but never atrocities. The worst were the Greek EOKA thugs who hit upon both British troops and Turkish Cypriots.
Sure, things got a tad heated now and then but the situation was nowhere near as bad as the German occupation of Greece. This video was made by a misinformed person. Or a deluded one.

Many Cypriot Greeks & Cypriot Turks have often enlightened me that propaganda divided the Cypriot Greeks & Cypriot Turks during that period, who once all lived together as brothers & sisters in peace & harmony. If only Britain left when she was no longer wanted. To consider here in the UK many would have a similar attitude decades later, with the overall majority voted for Brexit because they didn't want to be somehow controlled by the EU . Nonetheless, so much has evolved, & I hope there's reunification of this gorgeous island, soon.
