I met him and his wife one night years ago. I was working security at national (bar) and there was a woman being inappropriate with him and he asked me to get her away from him, but be respectful and kind. He is on and off the ice a stand up guy.
I've heard of stories of people saying they had their family's groceries paid for, from one of gio's people, but from him. And never made a fact be known that he did it. An actual legend.
Giordano played his first NHL game in Mats Sundin's 500th goal game. The one where Mats scored a hat trick, completed it in OT shorthanded with a bomb over the shoulder.
I got to meet Mark at the American Airlines Center in Dallas a few years ago when Calgary came here to Dallas to play the Stars, and he's a stand up guy on and off the ice. I'm glad to see him get the love and respect he deserves in his return to the Saddledome!
