Hi Kayla, I'm an artist also. A but older than you. I have read Lead the field by Earl Nightingale for many years. Im a goldsmith and sculptor now with a retail store. I agree 100% with this video, I live by these rules. Within 3 years of opening, I did one million in sales. Now, 35 years later, I have done over 130 million in sales. No collage degree. Just an artist who cares about others. I feel that after listening to you, there are still things in my life I need to learn. Your doing a great job.
I remember when I was in high school and attended a college program, I had to wait up early and exercise with all the other students. We didn't have an alarm and back then I didn't own a phone. So, I put my watch on the window near my bed and opened the curtain just a little bit and told myself I was going to wake up at 7am each day of the two-week program. And oddly enough I woke up automatically exactly at 7am with just the single ray of light entering my room. I do that now and I always wake up 30mins before my alarm clock goes off.
Sharing my “Ah-ha!” moment: As you went through Step 5, and the importance of connecting your dream/goal to a cause greater than yourself, I suddenly realized that my own “block” keeping me from my art is that I have believed that creating/doing art is “selfish” and only for myself. I recognize it as a belief from childhood, one that told me “art is a waste of your time”, and has prevented me from exploring the idea of impact outside of myself. I wrote down, “If I only ever see my art as something I do for myself, it will never feel important enough to deserve my resources!”, followed by the further realization, “I’m not rejecting ‘ART’, I’m rejecting ‘SELFISHNESS’”…which has allowed me to believe that denying myself the opportunities to make art to be “noble” and somehow “righteous”. 🤯 Now to think deeply about connecting my dream/goal to something greater than myself, and FREE MYSELF from limiting beliefs!! Thank you, Kayla. 🙏☺️
Amen ❤ I am a single mom and I am just starting on my painting journey. I finally found what I was created to do....but fear keeps attacking me. I am taking a neuroscience course trying to learn my brain.. I have ADHD and I wanted to retrain myself from habits that are keeping me from my success. I know God gave me a gift for paint...now I need to be brave enough to follow through and follow the dream. Hard when you been told that you can't make a living as a artist. If you can do it.... ❤I can too. Thank you for this video!! Love you lots ❤
I love this. I can geek out on stuff like this so it was easy to listen to and I couldn't agree more. We are often our own worst enemies, but there is such power in our minds. As a Christian I believe we have the responsibility to renew our mind, to train it and to subdue the fleshly desires. It is not just 'luck' or a 'higher power', even though I believe the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, if you as an individual being, don't take charge of your own mind...you're by default heading for destruction.
Thank you for changing my life! I’m an artist, stuck and ready to achieve my goal. I have studied Kwik, Caroline Leaf, Julia Cameron, etc. your video brings it all together. I am a Christian and know that the Lord orders my life and created me to know my own responsibility.
You've slowly become one of my biggest inspiration and motivator. There's something so genuine in the way you convey information that makes it so easy to follow and believe, even with something as controversial as the one in this video. Thank you for all the videos
It is wild hearing speak about this! I viewed the episode with Mel Robbins a month ago go with Dr Doty. This is very real, I have been practicing the 6 steps daily since then.
Awesome video and very timely as I think I have been stuck in old patterns and just getting frustrated when the same shite keeps happening - although a longer time span between each time so maybe I have been learning lol
Kayla, you are amazing! I'm so proud of you. Your talents are many. Your mind is super smart. All the best to you sweet lady. Oh, and I ordered the audio book so that I can listen while I paint or walk. Cheers!!
Hey Kayla I’m new but I’ve binged watched a lot . My question is what drove traffic to your site ? I paint and tattoo . But wanna art to paint more and maybe sell prints to live in a cheaper country .
My take away from the video! Step 1) Believe that’s where it all starts. Small task before going to sleep. Write down a goal to do right when you wake up in the am. Do it. In pat your self on the back. Step 2) time block your day to allow focus on the proper tasks. Manifest your goals by using your 5 senses. Write them down in repeat everyday. Step 3) Remove - replace old habits with new ones. Write down affirmations by writing down your beliefs on the left of the paper in writing down the opposite on the right side. Step 4) Do it over in over in over again. Think.. dream about it. To embed it in your subconscious. Step 5) go after your goals with passion be fearless in unstoppable. Be serious. Connect them with a deeper meaning basically find your purpose. Step 6) Let go. Be grateful. Be positive. Find the positivity in everything. Know that everything happening for you not to you. Thanks you! I recently took the biggest leap of faith of my life. In quit my job to be a full time artist. Without any saving, Back up plan. It’s been tough but I’m making it happen in each day I’m becoming better in the business is growing even more. My belief is becoming stronger. Life is beautiful enjoy everyday!

That’s such a crazy experience, what a cool story to tell. I’ll have to try that! Haha

Sounds like a book that summarizes a lot of wisdom. Great video. Your new direction is lining up with the direction of my brain. 🎉
You are so right! It is biblical, we just get hung up on how things are worded. Scripture talks about renewing your mind.
Couldn’t agree more!
