I need to get down there and try my luck. This would be very unique for me. I just love catching reds. From Ft. Hood it would also be a little closer. I have a Mako boat as well. Thanks for the videos. Making plans right now. What about current lake levels?
Isn’t that an over slot Redfish? (Edit: answer my own question… no special rules for the lake) I am asking because I have only caught reds in saltwater. I would think the slot would be the same but I don’t know. You can keep 1 over slot with your tag but I have never done it. The really big bull reds at the coast are very old and have worms. Well, I just looked it up and that lake does have special limits . Minimum 20” with no maximum.
Since they are stocked here at the lakes any thing bigger than 20 inches is a keeper. I haven’t came across worms like the bull reds in saltwater. No tags for redfish needed also here.
I promise you that there is so many ponds around lake that filters water clay plastic bottom I’ve seen the operation know several people been eating fish for years out of the lake and fish are sensitive as we know if chemicals were in this lake it would kill everything fish are strong and living great in the lake

Can you eat fish from that lake? Lots of chemicals dumped in from CPS kind of concerning
Yes you can.

@@DoubleDiamondFishing12 ok cool, thanks guys
How is there redfish in this lake???
@@moisestorres90 They are raised in the hatchery and released as fingerlings. They are sterile so they can’t breed!
@@Fishin4Trophies wow that's crazy!
It really is to easy to catch Reds in Calaveras, but their still fun
Yes you are right, really all you have to do it get your line wet! I’ve been skunked there many times. Thanks 😂
Omg you need a bigger ice chest.
😂 yes I do! Thanks for watching! 👊🏽
