Mushoku Tensei *is* wish fulfillment, but it's a bit more nuanced than that. The wish that is fulfilled isn't having a wife and kids (though that is certainly what Rudy wanted), the wish that was fulfilled was the opportunity to *earn* that life.
This series is the best, i would like to see a s3 video.
I have to ask Espiritu, where do you see this response to the series. I may not seek many CCs for discussions, but damn people must really hate the show given how much to mention it.
A lot in my comments, in tweets on X/Twitter, some on Ed's comments or on his stream. Those are the simple ones, then other minor areas as well.
Its not your fault you don't see as much, the various algorithms try to only show you what they think you want to see. People go insane on this show in a lot of comment sections, Twitter/X and reddit

making fun of something is okay, jokes are never a bad thing, but that does not mean you should not take time and effort to try to understand what the character(s) are going through, understand how they got to that point, understand why they are at that point, and if you cannot empathize with them, at least understand on a logical and emotional level why things are as they are.
But yes, most creators or fans do not wish to delve deeper into any show, especially in anime, as they take it as light entertainment; they do not want to be challenged with difficult choices, dilemmas, or characters. they just want to consume content and then consume the next content. The average creator, like the average viewer, simply does not have, or does not wish to have, the capacity to understand art, like anime, on any deeper level whatsoever.
And while I can anguish over that, it simply is what it is, especially with the newer generations.

Man, i 100% agree that the fact the MC was ugly is one of the reasons for the hate, that and maybe the fact he was also into lolis, while othe rprotagonists that are more good looking get away with way worse because it's fine when they do it
The """critics""" are not able to understand a mature story. They assumed that MT is a generic wishfulfillment isekai and they NEVER questioned whether this assumption was actually true. It's as simple as that. The haters just aren't smart enough to understand this story.

Mistakes are there to make us better versions of ourselves, even if with made those mistakes sometimes, some people can call that “he doesn’t learn his lesson” em hello? Welcome to an unpredictable life of twists and turns where anything can happen, are you really telling me that you haven’t made a mistake that you think that you learned but actually not? Think about it.

I definitely would not have had my sisters in the room when I was discussing with Sylphie what had transpired and what he wanted with Roxy. I would also probably not had Roxy in there on the beginning of the conversation. In the end it was up to Sylphie, so I think they did that part right. I love how this story is about the journey, about human frailty and growth. It really makes this series top tier for me. I believe there is a lot of hypocrisy, jealousy, self loathing, and virtue signaling when it comes to people complaining or pointing out things they dislike or disagree with.
It used to be important to teach and learn empathy, humility and caring for others. Now it is a me, me, me culture and it is absolutely the wrong way to live your life and think mentally. This is far more joy and comfort when we try to relate and think about others. My parents and i were raised old school, they taught me the meaning of walking a mile in another's shoes before you judge them and that is more lost then ever with today's generation. Society as a whole starts to fall apart and fail when you refuse to realize you are not the only person that matters. Sure individual matters, you have to take care of yourself, but you can't just destroy everyone else in the process if they have done nothing wrong.
Well anyway, this series is a 10 out of 10 for me due to the human aspect of it and teachable lessons that really do matter.

Remember anime viewers Hitogami is an utter piece of garbage and question everything he says. He is working toward a result he wants not what Rudeus or any person he interacts with wants. If you only knew his backstory you would probably agree.
The ED thing being mocked makes sense. No man wants to be seen as relating to a character with ED for fairly obvious reasons, and for the same reason, any content creator who _has_ gone through that is likely to be even more dismissive, unless said content creator has been open about it in the past.
