This car is actually the first generation of the Haval H6, which was introduced over a decade ago. It was renamed and continued to be sold. The entire vehicle was a reverse-engineered version of the Honda CRV at that time, with a very cost-effective and thin body structure. When the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) conducted the 25% offset frontal crash test on this vehicle, it performed very poorly. However, starting from the second generation of the Haval H6, the safety of the entire Great Wall Motors' vehicles shifted to the other extreme, becoming very robust.

It is a tyre lever Dmitri, and he wields it like a pro🙃
He really demonstrates the old adage that you get what you pay for. The Chinese vehicles are good but they need to be significantly cheaper than their rivals to make up for the cheapness in construction and design.
There is no issue with this whilst new but once these cars are a few years old the differences will become more apparent and their secondhand value will suffer accordingly.
They will offer a great s/h alternative for the budget conscience which will help to drag down everything else, if there are enough s/h Chinese vehicles around.

And that is the problem mate - they are great (not all of them but GWM is) when they are new, but 3-5 years on, from more and more facts that I'm seeing in these and other videos I watch - they will start causing problems. I wish GWM and other Chinese car makers start looking at the end-to-end quality, not just bling and attractive interior to make a quick sale.

Haval H6 is a budget car, so we shouldn’t be surprised that the assembly of the car is imperfect.. people shouldn’t compare this car with any other pricier car..

Are you talking about H6 or M6? M6 surely is "budget". And we compare apples to apples here - Haval to Haval. So, your comment is a bit beside the point and confusing.

@@ValueCarsAU yes, sorry I meant the Haval M6 in my original comment.. I also meant the mechanic guy featured in the video, he was very critical of the build quality of Haval M6 like if he completely forgot the fact that it is a budget car!!

M6 is the downgrade version of the last generation H6.

actually the downgrade version of 1st gen h6, which is haval's first car, current h6 is the 3rd gen

To me it looks like an entirely different car to H6 that has (and would have in AU too) a market niche different to H6. These 2 models could co-exist in our market (if priced differently) in my view. The poor assembly quality is a concern of course.
