I’ve been listening to this song since 1999. This bands old shit is groundbreaking. Nowadays lots of bands try to sound like them like Godjira or Lamb of God
Thank you for being a channel that listened to the entire song without interruption. This is my favorite son of all time. Inflames if such an underrated band.
Another great Swedish melodic death metal band you guys need to check out is Soilwork. Rejection Role, Light the Torch, Figure Number Five Thanks for more In Flames!
Thank you for reacting to one of the greatest bands of all time and my favorite. In Flames are known for some of the best riffs in the business. Older in flames have sick lyrics btw. If you want lyric video then react to 2 songs from Jester's Race album - December Flower (one of the greatest solos ever) or Jester's Race song. Problem is focusing on lyrics is gonna take away from listening to instruments so maybe not the best idea to focus on lyrics for starters. Your choice of course. Here are some more gems even though there are too many when it comes to this band. I guarantee 100% you are going to love My Sweet Shadow. Almost everyone does, be it old in flames fans, mid era or new era. Then stuff like: - Only for the weak (honestly this one no matter how amazing it is took me couple listens to really love it) - Bullet Ride - Worlds within the Margin - Chossen Pessimist live performance on Nuclear Blast channel (sickest live scream) - Alias (kinda newer one) - Jotun - Episode 666 and many many others. There is live concert of theirs from 2004 from Used & Abused dvd with pro quality recording where they were at their absolute best. 2 concerts on that dvd - Sticky Fingerz and Hammersmith. Can't go wrong with either if you want some live reactions. Spoiler - they were sick live 😁
As always, my In Flames suggestion: Goliaths Disarm Their Davids. It's from the Black Ash Inheritance EP, and absolutely amazing. Jotun and Ordinary Story are other great options.
If you get to watching Imminence they set the videos up like a continuous movie. Paralyzed Infectious Erase Heaven in hiding Temptation Chasing shadows/ alleviate That would be a start guys Enjoy
Nice review fellas. As others have pointed out, this is melodic death metal with a Gothenburg twist. At the time of this album (2000) , In Flames had started to become more commercialized and modern than their previous three albums and you can hear elements of other metal genres in the sound. It wasn't until "Soundtrack to Your Escape" in 2004 that they really shed their melodic death metal skin.
My man Hollywood....love....love that purple rain tee.... such a great song let alone artist... prince was a genius on the guitar..... by the way trash talkers in flames are fucking awesome....keep reacting to gems like these!!!!
For more great Swedish metal, go for Entombed, Amon Amarth, Dismember, At the Gates, The Haunted, Meshuggah, Arch Enemy, Dissection, Soilwork, Candlemass…aaaaand the list goes on. In Flames play melodic death metal, but there is obvious nu metal-chunks in there. That chugging has been called “the Gothenburg sound”.
In Flames' first 5 albums (up through Clayman in 2000, which featured Pinball Map) are so dense with sauce that it's hard to pick among the potential suggestions (nearly everything on Colony easily qualifies). Embody the Invisible, Bullet Ride, Ordinary Story, Jotun, Behind Space 99, December Flower, Artifacts of the Black Rain, Coerced Coexistence, Colony, Zombie Inc., Insipid 2000, Square Nothing, Satellites and Astronauts, Episode 666... It's hard to go wrong; whatever's next, looking forward to you hearing more
Because a lot of people that listened to In Flames before Reroute to Remain think of that album as when they started to change direction. I like it, but it isn't the same as their older stuff. I think of like Metallica's black album, still not bad, just not as great as the stuff before it.
@@mikefelty2625 perfect description of reroute to remain as the black album…although i feel like clayman was going there too….i feel like colony was their pinnacle of sounding the best musically and production wise
@@Heller103085 Colony is also my favorite. Clayman was great too in my opinion and not as much of a departure from their sound at the time. I had never put a lot of thought into it before, but In Flames has had a similar path as Metallica in more ways than just comparing Black Album/Reroute to Remain. Colony is their Master of Puppets and Clayman is their Justice for All as far as I'm concerned.
Old In Flames is what you call Melodic Death Metal (‘94 - ‘00). New In Flames is what you call…. Idek 🤣, but jokes aside, In Flames were very important to the creation of Melodeath.
Love this! Hope you guys react to more old school in flames, this to was the black album for them. No talking crap, it was amazing! Another band maybe you guys may like , they are around the same place and made a vid together. Check out “soilwork, “rejection role”
@@mrhbn9251 I completely disagree about soundtrack. siren charms I could see your point on its def not one I would go out of my way to listen to but I still didn't hate it.

Oh man…if you’re gonna go down this road, for the love all that is metal, do some Soilwork. Imma fan so I’d say really anything from them, but favorite? Damn I dunno. Chainheart Machine, Light the Torch, Needlefeast, Song of the Damned, Shadowchild….any of those.
Nice! Hey guys I heard a band today on liquid metal that I was thinking I know that voice!!! I'll message the band tonight. It's a supergroup. I honestly don't think the song is right for the channel but definitely check it out. Big bonus if you can name the singer/rapper without looking it up.
You guys should react to "Error" by The Warning, "Enter Sandman" by The Warning feat Alesiia Cara and also "Mars" LIVE by Liliac and all their cover of "Seven Nation Army" Dont know if yall have heard either band but both are worth checking out i gurantee you wont be disappointed.
Great video can you guys react to Crowbar they have plenty of great songs to choose from Chemical Gods, Lasting Dose, Dead Sun , Planets Collide I would love it
metal and rap go hand in hand... people just won't accept it. Parkway Drive is one of the best metal bands on the planet and Winston can fuckin rap. not to mention Slipknot....
In Flames? "Drifter" or "Trigger" but from the same album as this song, "Bulletride" is better...but try their brethren in Soilwork: I suggest "Nerve" or "Stabbing The Drama".
Their 2nd through 5th albums are glorious, this song is quality too but there are still better songs on those 4 records. Highly recommend “another day in quicksand” from the same album
The genre is Swedish Melodic Death Metal. One of the originators of the genre. Been around since the early 90's and still kicking ass today.
In Flames are one of the greats, so gonna try again here lol. Please do "Deliver Us". I feel like it would be right up y'alls alley!
Yes Deliver Us, that is one of my favorites.
You guys should do "Only for the Weak" by In Flames!
Or "Blinded by fear" by At the Gates.
At the Gates are awesome.
older in flames
Yes please do At the gates
First! Truly a great song. NEED to do Colony!!!!
I’ve been listening to this song since 1999. This bands old shit is groundbreaking. Nowadays lots of bands try to sound like them like Godjira or Lamb of God

Thanks for more In Flames!
Thanks for introducing me to this band. Huge fan of Swedish melodic death metal. Huge fan of Avatar.
Stabbing the Drama is another good album from Soilwork.
@@mikefelty2625 I think overall, Predators Portrait is still their masterpiece
Thanks!
In Flames Friday anyone...? 😉 I'd suggest 'Evil in a Closet', live at Sticky Fingers. Keep the melodic death flowing 🤘
Oh my god, this song is like reliving my high school years. 😊

The film to this song was taken in the surounding of Gothenburg and some inside the town. The band is from these parts of Sweden.
As always, my In Flames suggestion: Goliaths Disarm Their Davids. It's from the Black Ash Inheritance EP, and absolutely amazing. Jotun and Ordinary Story are other great options.
ahh, the legendary Gothenburg Sound
Yes!!! 3 absolute rippers there my dude
Melodic death metal basically
Ordinary Story and Insipid 2000 are also incredible songs from In Flames off of the album Colony.

You are missing out.

Amazing
I second this
my favourite in flames song ever from my favourite in flames album clayman summer melodic death metal
The legendary melodic death metal band In Flames
Hell yeah In Flames representing my hometown of Gothenburg, lots of great bands from here
There’s another Swedish band called ‘The Crown’. Anything off their first 4 albums will blow your heads off
Oldschool In Flames is gold but Stay with me is probably my fav In flames song ever made
Finally Finally In Flames
Do Jotun, Gyroscope or embody the invisible next

Why does no one mention Cloud Connected when In Flames is mentioned? That song is fantastic.
Because a lot of people that listened to In Flames before Reroute to Remain think of that album as when they started to change direction. I like it, but it isn't the same as their older stuff. I think of like Metallica's black album, still not bad, just not as great as the stuff before it.

good, good. but you still need to do Clayman.
they're great! this one rolls like a train.
I miss In Flames, they used to be so damn good
I think the band you were thinking of with the female lead was In This Moment
In Flames - Clayman
this is when in flames was melodic death metal
finally some inflames reaction! my fav early 2000 band! che out reflect the storm studio version next plz
*In Flames - "Delight and Angers" next pleeeeeeease*

Absolutely classic album!!! In Flames runs double leads. :)
Melodic Death Metal baby!
Love the shirt smokey
You guys should check out strangers by the kinks, great song
Lots of suggestions lately but one more would be Pigmy Love Circus- Livin like shit and Swamp Creatures. Danny Carey(Tool) drums for them also.
Love this band.
Yall gonna be surprised by this band
If you do more in flames i would recommend alias, i am above and state of slow decay. I am above and state of slow decay are their newer songs.
IF was very a special band back in the day
althought it's a bit of a slow song, Satellites and Astronauts is a masterpiece, lyrics are great too. One of my favourites.
These guys are musical genius
So many great songs over the years !

Soilwork or dark tranquillity….feel like them plus in flames were like the big 3 in the early to mid 2000s with Gothenburg
