First off welcome back we missed you. As for the imperfections, it looks great and I am sure the person who owns the trunk will be happy that you left those imperfections instead of replacing them with all new. Great job as usual.
6:01 😆Oh jeez, I know your pain! That's what pushed me to eventually get a quick release attachment for my dremmel, because the cutoff wheel is the tool I use the most.
I have my grandfather's trunk he took back and forth to college, on a wagon, back in the 1920's. All his college books are still inside. You've inspired me to rejuvenate it.
At first look, I really thought this trunk was beyond saving. But, as always, you worked your magic, and I would be proud to show this in my home. I especially love how you keep the character of the trunk. If only it could talk, the stories it could tell! ❤
Hi Trena! So glad to see and hear you today! That was quite a restoration project! Worked out beautifully. Will be happy to see you in your new shop. I know it must have been a few really tough months with the move and transition. I've missed you! Take care.
Good to see you back, 😊 your TH-cam has helped me through a difficult health crisis. Something to relax my mind, I learnt a lot too: glues, clamps and restoration. You are an inspiration.❤
Jesus said “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you and learn from me ….for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”- a blessing for you.
Yay, you're back! I hope the move went well and you're enjoying your family. For some reason i really like trunks. Probably because my Mom did. I have a dirty old one waiting for me in my garage. Not high quality but it'll be fun to clean up.
I have to say your work is amazing, but what I find equally amazing is how you honor your dad by using his business name for your shop and your channel. Awesome daughter.
I am so sorry I have been so busy. I haven’t had time to watch any of your programs but I’m watching the one now and I’m gonna get caught up I promise I miss how lovely you take care of a lot of the pieces you work on
Bending nails over is an age old thing. The term is "clinching", I do it on some barn doors. Same as a farrier on a hoof. Wonderful to have you back. Not a furniture repair person. Taught my son stuff just like your dad and you. He says sometime when he is doing something he hears me !@#$%#
Good to see you again. Hope the move is still going smoothly. Magnificent work on that trunk. My wife has ones very similar that is in rough shape. All the burlap is gone. But, I am now going to do my best to restore it as much as possible .
Phew! I sent a message yesterday on previous video because I was worried…and this morning (I live in South Africa) up pops this video…so happy you’re ok!❤ Such lovely work❤
Good to see you again, Trena! Really nice work, and it looks perfectly old, without the bad of aging. I'm sure your friend is ecstatic to have this old trunk back again.
Original patina preserved, canvas repaired, not changed, wood refreshed but not overdone, in a word great job ! Sometimes restorers go too far and retain 10% of the original item.
I'm so glad you're back! You were really missed. Hope your move went smoothly. This trunk was really cool. Loved it and the finished product was great! Enjoy your new place, and hope to see more videos soon!
Great restoration, I like the "aged" effect that keeps the character of the trunk. I would have replaced the straps and used a cold blueing solution on the buckles to tone in with the outer hardware. It is very refreshing to watch you and the skill you show in the work you do. Regards Chris 👍🏻🎯🇦🇺
Lovely to see a video from you, even if it's pre-move, just to let all your fans know that you're still around. I'm really looking forward to content from the new shop, and hope we get to meet your dad.
So glad you're back! I can't get enough of your videos because you are truly amazing at what you do. If anyone was ever cut out to do this type of work, it's you. Absolutely amazing how this turned out and I love the way you left the "character" of the piece by not restoring with all new parts.
So glad to see you back. Have missed your videos. Thank you for sharing the restoration of this beautiful trunk. You did a wonderful job preserving it's character. Beautiful result.
A superb restoration - it is truly amazing how good the trunk looked after you finished. I really really enjoyed watching you do that. Good luck with the move - can't wait to see your new shop.
So glad to see your back, I've been on the lookout for ya. This is a great piece, I have one in the garage that needs this treatment and I am afraid to say I didn't know where to start with it. And no clue someone was still manufacturing pieces for them. Thank you!
I love it when people bring you furniture that is in such rough shape. Especially when they are willing to let you go forward with just some basic input. It gives you so many options to show off your amazing talent. Also, I really enjoyed watching you fight with the glue gun. There are times when they are the perfect option, but they always fight me every inch of the way. So it is nice to watch someone whose skill is lightyears beyond mine fight with them. 😀
You had me worried, lamenting your disappearance from TH-cam. I had a rather complete wood working shop, but age and shaking hands eventually mede it dangerous for me to continue to use it. At least I got to watch you take on some challenging projects and do an excellent job on them. I was especially impressed with the job you did on that exterior door. I am hoping you will continue from your new location. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!!
I had a trunk just like that when I was 13, some 60 years ago, I kept my horse tack in it. I can tell you for sure it didn’t look anything like that. Great job. I wish now I would have kept that trunk. Beautiful!!
Wow, the trunk is amazing, you have given me inspiration for a family trunk I have. Many blessings, hope the move goes well. It’s been a long time coming.
Great job, Trena, as usual. I like that you kept the original character rather than trying to make it look perfect. Like you said, "It's got a story to tell."
So glad you did a trunk, I have two that I need to complete and now I have a better idea of how to proceed. Hope you are settling in and your family is doing well.
That turned out really well! I picked up some good pointers for an old family trunk. Ours is the round top. I especially like how you did the paper. Thanks for the tip of where to go for parts! I'm currently restoring an old chifferobe and am looking for hardware.
Fantastic to c u again. The trunk looks so nice. You do such a wonderful job on the pieces you redo. Can't wait to see things from your new shop. Hope the move went well .
We have all missed your videos and cant wait to see the new shop. I admire your artistry and your courage to make a big move. I hope the new place feels like home. Just remember we will keep following your channel, no matter where you go❤
Love watching your incredible skills. So many channels that restore furniture but most don't know what they are doing and I get really frustrated if I watch them. That does not happen with you! You show great respect for all pieces you work with.
Trena, I never comment on You Tube. But I have to say how very happy I am to see a new video from you!!! I am so grateful that you had the time to post this. As always, stunning result! Thank you so much!❤
I find old trunks very nostalgic for some reason. You did an amazing job restoring this one and it still looks as though it has traveled the world. Well done. Glad to see you back. I can’t wait for your next video.
Wow! I watched this video in 2 parts a few days apart. I had in my mind what was possible during my first viewing, but WOW, during the 2nd viewing of the last part, I had forgotten what you started from. Your decisions, judgement, experience and craftsmanship all shined on this one! I’d be proud to have this piece in my home. You should be proud of your work on this one!
Yes, Trena, it's been a long while since I've seen you. I don’t know if I've seen anything you've restored start out looking as incredibly dirty as this piece! What a great job you've done to give it new life and purpose! I think you made all the right decisions in not over-restoring this piece, and keeping remnants of its history and battlescars to reflect it's age and previous service! As usual you do not disappoint the depth of your skill, craft & respect for an object's previous crafter and craftmanship by not radically altering its original design asthetic. I love this piece and I would be proud to display it & incorporate back into useful service into my present 112 year old residence that not only my parents lived in until their demise , but also my grandparents and great-grandparents also resided in up until their passing from this life. I so love your channel and have the highest regard for your work and craftsmanship! I wish you the best returning to your hometown! 🥰
Yay Trena! So wonderful to see your beautiful smile again. You have been missed. Absolutely stunning job as usual girl! I love that you kept the beautiful character of this piece. I have a suggestion for the hot glue have you ever tried Beacon 3 in 1 glue? Also goes by the names Fabritac or Fabrifix. It’s a silicone based glue so it won’t warp paper but is strong and sticks paper and fabric to paper, fabric, wood or metal. Hope your move was good and your family is doing well. It was so lovely to see you with Scott on Fixing Furniture! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Be well 😊
So good to see you again! The trunk is perfect- you always seem to know exactly when and where to move forward and when and where to hold back. Hope you and your family are settling in nicely.
welcome back Trena you have been missed. Again you managed to turn an item that is only fit for the fire into a work of art. You are a master at the comeback. Long may it continue.
Wow. That was a miracle. Glad to see your work again. Everything you do is very outstanding work and I'm going to miss you once in Canada. But good luck there and I wish you and family all the best.
Welcome back,We certainly missed your fantastic and talented work! Your trunk came out terrific and now gave me some incentive to work on mine.Thank you!
There you are young lady, missed you and the channel, still a pleasure to watch. Awesome finish to the project, we have its twin is setting in our living room being used as a blanket chest and sewing machine storage, we have thought about refurbishing it, but we like the rustic look that the years of hard use have given it. Once again, good to see you back, thank you for an awesome video.
hey trena that's so awesome to see you carrying on with this, i sure wish i had a chance to do something like that and i hope you all the best and so look forward to seeing more video's from you thank you for taking to the time to do this as well god bless

He did a really good job atmosphere. You kept it integrity and its history and yet made it worthy of a Creighton barrel or Restoration Hardware photo shoot. You do beautiful work.
Welcome back Trena.
❤❤❤❤❤was so so good to see you again my old friend
❤️
Great job as usual and welcome back!
Thanks again!
Beautiful!
Well done!
Great job.
I love what you did with this trunk. It looks so much better while still retaining it's character.
Give it back? Stunning, I’m sure they are going to be just thrilled.
First off welcome back we missed you. As for the imperfections, it looks great and I am sure the person who owns the trunk will be happy that you left those imperfections instead of replacing them with all new. Great job as usual.
Thankyou!
The trunk looks absolutely amazing! Great job as usual!👍
So very happy to see you again!! 🎉 Hope your move went as smoothly as such a move can! ❤
I too am glad you are back
Beautiful Restoration.
6:01 😆Oh jeez, I know your pain! That's what pushed me to eventually get a quick release attachment for my dremmel, because the cutoff wheel is the tool I use the most.
Fantastic work and beautiful in appearance, as usual.
Thank you! Cheers!
I have my grandfather's trunk he took back and forth to college, on a wagon, back in the 1920's. All his college books are still inside. You've inspired me to rejuvenate it.
those books probably have a higher level of college education in them than what is taught today.
At first look, I really thought this trunk was beyond saving. But, as always, you worked your magic, and I would be proud to show this in my home. I especially love how you keep the character of the trunk. If only it could talk, the stories it could tell! ❤
Thank you very much!
I am sure Blackbeard would have loved the chest, especially when full of pirate treasure. a beautiful finish Trena, well done
Beautiful results!
Thank you! 😊
so nice to see your work again. You are so talented. This trunk is stunning. You never cease to amaze us
Thank you! Cheers!

Jesus said “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you and learn from me ….for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”- a blessing for you.
Isn’t that just the most satisfying feeling when you take something sad and grungy and bring back it’s beauty?
Thanks for sharing this with us ❤❤
It really is!
So glad to see you again. Missed you and your excellent work. ❤
Yay, you're back! I hope the move went well and you're enjoying your family.

Yay, you’re back! This is an absolutely stunning resurrection!
Yay, thank you!
Had to let you carry the Canadian restoration torch while life got away on me lol. Thanks for watching Angie

Oh my goodness! How beautiful! I have one exactly like this in my living room…however, it’s not refurbished… 😟
What a gorgeous job!
Welcome back Trena, so happy to see you. This project looks great, in that it’s a restoration rather than a refinish. Hope you move went well.😊
Thankyou❤️

Very nice restoration on the trunk being careful to leave some 'character' in the project. Blessings to you.
Thanks, you too!

Oh thank you!
Welcome back Trena. I won`t tell the guys on Oak Island, you have Blackbeard's Trunk. They might show up and start digging!!!!

Hi Trena, You work very Hard, what you Share for us on You Tube Is a BIG THNKYOU, amongst your busy schedule you manage to give us Gems of Wisdom your Father taught you very well us many YOU TUBERS admit it takes a lot a lot of time to do a video. Good Luck on your move, May Your Family Stay healthy and Safe.
