6:49 “can I turn into an animal?” Legendary foreshadowing. Also goes to show maybe godhood is what the individual god makes of it. Kratos loved strength and became god of war. Atreus loved animals and became god of…beast forms
I love this moment so much. To see Kratos speaking with such.... gentleness. "I will not." "I see that." "You see that it does not." It's soooo awesome.
it is no wonder this game in particular captured the hearts of all the fans. if all the old games was an amazing action packed world, this one talks about when a tired warrior doesn't want to pick up his destruction bringing weapons anymore. he also regards life far more then what he once did as he does not kill needlessly and respects those warriors he kills now like he does with the guard of hel
Atreus: Can I turn into an animal? Kratos: I don't know I uh kinda killed your grandfather before he could teach me that. Not that he was ever inclined to teach me anything other than being stabbed with a big ass sword hurts like hell.
Unless there's time travel, there is something seriously wrong here. Because if he's Loki then that snake is his son. Also so many gods can turn into animals. Hell, Odin is known for being a bird. xD
At some point in the game, you find a writing in one of those wooden things, it says that when Thor and the Jormongandr will fight they will destroy the Yggdrassil in the process, the blast will send the jormungandr back in time, that why when the World Snake speaks to MimirAtreus he asks him if he knows him because he looks similar to someone he knew.
the powers he was asking were the powers loki has. idk about flying though lol. there's also a part where mimir said that the world serpent said that atreas looked familiar. which is another foreshadowing... it's low key enough that i didn't noticed.
I love this game because of the amazing storytelling, it's perfect arc for Kratos, and all the twists at the end, and this displays pretty much all of those
With the amount of character development this game had, it's gotta be the best for lore at the very least. I mean who cares how many times Kratos gets betrayed in GoW 1-3, this has actual character development in it.
@@egocentricblack3278 The original trilogy doesn't have a bad story but it is kinda superficial. Pretty much all gods are dicks and even Kratos is just a sanguinary dick. Would that technically make Atreus a demigod since Kratos is a full god, also since his mom was a giant would it make Atreus as tall as Kratos if not taller since Thor is also half giant or does it vary?
since loki/atreus is a god does that mean that the new generation of giants would all be gods and goddesses as well(if atreus/loki becomes the new bergelmir and sires many children
Anyone else feels really weird coming back here after Ragnarok and looking at Atreus? He looks like a shrinked down version of his "true" teen self. It's a bit jarring.
Atreus is only 25% god, cuz kratos’s mother was human so kratos is technically a demigod making atreus more giant than anything else from his mother’s side
That's not true. Kratos is a demigod until the end of God of War 1. When Kratos manages to kill Ares, the original God of War, he is dubbed the new god of war and imbued with the power of the God of War by Athena, becoming the new God of War. Similar to how the demigod Hercules is made a god by Zeus after his death
Also, Atreus's mother was not human, she was a giant, so the same demigod rules don't apply to him either. As shown with Thor, who is the son of Odin and a female giant, the son of a giant and a god is still a god. So he is actually 100% a full-fledged god.
@@thejuicerisgone3215 I guess but If I'm not mistaken, the "born a god" angle wasn't pursued until GoW2. The first GoW didn't mentioned Zeus being Kratos father, did it? He was originally written as a mortal defeating a god.
