Even before losing Brok, he took damage by ACCIDENT from Atreus. Even then he still has a feeling of little forgiveness. 'I'll forgive you eventually' Sindri is the type of dwarf that just clings and hangs on to what he thinks that could harm him and comfort him, at least in the back of his mind. I think his vengeful and spiteful nature after Brok's death could change him permanently and not come back to the Sindri we knew before Brok's death. Even if he moves on, it will not be the same for this character.

    • @pforgottonsoul
      @pforgottonsoul ปีที่แล้ว +11

@@kumaira_arts i don't think he's that spiteful just yet, at the funeral he seemed like he was grieving but he didn't really lash out against kratos when kratos brought up Brok. I do however think that if this plotline continues in a side game or something like that i can see him being an antagonist trying to go to forbidden lengths to try to bring back Brok.

@@dongianlazero when I said I’m glad, I mean he had up to here with all the shit given to him from Atreus to Odin. Sindri meant well from the beginning, but thanks to Odin he has been a completely changed person.
If there’s anyone that truly deserves to end Odin, it’s him. Killing his brother was his final straw. Still, he really didn’t deserve any of it. Not once. I thought Atreus talking shit to him in GoW was brutal when he doesn’t deserve it. He was merely ranting and nothing more.
But Ragnarok, really sets him off.
So there’s my complete opinion on Sindri. I didn’t want to explain myself before ‘cause I thought that one paragraph was enough to give many GoW players an idea.

You can tell that over time, Sindri gets increasingly aggravated with Atreus. Whatever they talked about before Kratos came back with Freya, his transformation into a bear and attacking Sindri. When he comes back, he’s clearly giving Atreus the cold shoulder. I was hoping that they’d find a moment eventually to talk and make up, but… then Brok died, and that was just the breaking point. It all rushed out, and as a result… we have who Sindri is now.
Granted, if you trace it back far enough, Odin’s manipulations play a part… but honestly? The fact that Atreus left after the story ended was… a big bummer for me. Because we can’t even have Atreus try to work things out, or even properly apologize.
On a more comedic note, if Brok were still around, I can only see him smacking Sindri upside the head or something. He was too good for us…

Damn. Looking at it from Sindri's perspective, Atreus and Kratos really are soul-draining entities. They show up in his life, connected to him by an axe that he made for someone else, they use his skills, largely show minimal appreciation (Kratos just by his nature, Atreus by being a little so-and-so when he got moody), and then in Ragnarok...well they literally bring war to their home, Atreus injures Sindri, the Tyr they brought home murders Brok; and like Sindri says, they just keep taking. No matter what happens they never apologize (until the end that is), they never acknowledge how much they're asking, how much they've saddled on Sindri (and Brok)'s shoulders.
To the player, privy to all the struggles that Kratos and Atreus also go through and the sacrifices they make, it makes sense. But from Sindri's perspective, they must look like monsters by the end.
Odin at least left them alone.

On a personal level I relate myself to Sindri a lot. I used to be like him, getting out of my way for others and helping them until they reach their goals, giving my things to others easily without them asking for it in the first place. I knew the term "nice guys finish last" but I still wanted to be the nice guy.
as years go by, I finally learnt that I need to be nice to myself, I still help others, but learnt that I can not be there for someone else all the time. there has to be a limit on how much I can go out of my way for others. The nicest part of me is gone.
Sindri's character has strike me deep and reminded me of my old days.

Mt pet peeve is when ''nice'' people offer you all these things and help you did not ask for, but do apriciate, into a weapon to use against you when you dont return the favor. Like you exploited them. When people have the disease to please, thats on them. You dont owe anyone anything if they offerd it freely. If people have expectations after helping you, it's not really helping. I do love helping people. And I also sufferd from the disease to please, sometimes still do. But I have shaken the bad habit of blaming others for me going to far in helping people at my own expense. I needed to learn balance between being nice to myself and others as well, and I am still learning. But when I go to far again I realise I simply didnt balance it well enough (or realise somebody I am helping is in fact a jerk which does happen). But some people NOT jerks can not always return the favor either. May that be for mental health reasons, emotional reasons, financial reasons. Not everyone works the same, and can offer the same kind of support. If you ever wish to help anyone, to be kind, to be nice, make sure it's genuine and done without any expectations. Dont want anything in return, and likewise guard your own boundries in how far you go to make sure you stay healthy and happy after your help has been given.

I would think he would have learned to let things go, (like Brok told him when he died.) but he seems to just keep letting his anger fester. Sindri already had a lot of self-doubt and internal guilt for reviving Brok in the first place, but now that this all happened on top of that, a lot of that anger piled on and specifically pointed at Atreus. I'm sure if Brok were here, he would yell at his brother for blaming Atreus for something none of them truly ever saw coming. Mimir also threw a small little comment for exposition about how if you don't have four of your souls, you can't really find eternal peace or rest within the light/lake of souls. So I'm sure Sindri is feeling even more guilty and angry, maybe outwardly to Atreus, but in actuality, he's angry at himself for condemning his brother to an eternal unrest (even though Brok said it was alright and forgave him before he died).

The man died and crawled his way out of Hades thrice! Some interesting character continuity here. Of the Huldra Brothers, Sindri was always the one who was worse about holding grudges and generally refusing to let go. Remember their feud in GoW 2018? Yeah, both brothers badmouthed each other, but as we figure out through the game, Brok is just ALWAYS badmouthing people. He doesn't really mean any of it and he still cares about Sindri, even going so far as to ask Atreus how he's doing, and when Sindri shows up wanting to reconcile Brok is immediately receptive. But Sindri? Nary a good word about Brok comes out of his mouth and it takes a hurtful lashing out from Atreus for him to even entertain the idea that their feud might not have been all Brok's fault. Sindri never shows any concern for Brok until after they reconcile, and even goes so far as to be incredulous when told that Brok is concerned about him. This trait stays with him in Ragnarok. Note nobody in the house - not even Brok - holds Atreus running to Asgard against him...except Sindri. Sindri genuinely seemed to have taken it personally that Atreus didn't listen and got him hurt. The cut to Kratos was far deeper, and Brok was literally mauled by the undead and neither of the two held it against Atreus at all.
Sindri turning his back on Atreus was set up all the way back in GoW4. He's been a vindictive man with a propensity for grudges from the moment we've met him.

@@kahlilraya6670 kratos was terrible at communicating with atreus, BUT he definitely got better at it since the last game. it's not perfect communication since they still argue/disagree alot but you can see how much he's changed since gow 2018. atreus may feel like they're ganging up on him and they are but to them, it's for his own safety that they knock sense into him. because from their perspective, he's trying to do everything on his own and they know it's going to get him killed. kratos isn't helping, yeah but he doesn't want to lose his family again. he lost his wife and daughter before, he's lost faye so he doesn't want to lose his son. that's why he's so overprotective and atreus feels like he's always controlling him ?
