    If you take a look at history you will realize that Poland was always right:
    - Poland was right about Soviets and communists
    - Poland was right about nazis
    - Poland was right about energy addiction to Russia
    - Poland was right about migrants
    Poland seems to be always right, yet its always being disregarded by the rest.

    Western Europe treated Poles as oversensitive Russophobes when they warned against the threat from Russia, now it turned out that they were right. • @Kejmur
      @Kejmur ปีที่แล้ว +64

      Russia NEVER had any democratic tradition. All you need to do is to analyze their history really, a modern one as well. Russia and Russian citizens' mentality was always about 'we need that one strong guy to deal with issues' instead of things like 'freedom of speech' or any other democratic values. And they STILL support him (80% show it), because he makes Russia 'strong' in the eyes of others, which is the main motivation. Also, I don't know why people are surprised by Russian actions when modern Russia already committed similar actions to Ukraine in earlier years like towards Georgia in 2008 or in 90's towards Chechnya. Trust me, this doesn't come out of nowhere. So why people are surprised by Russia being an autocratic regime pretty much since forever, and they needed literal war with Ukraine (that also happened in 2014 as well, a reminder, on a much smaller scale) to realize this is beyond me.

    • @Sylwia220394
      @Sylwia220394 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, and what's really sad is that Poland who knew all along what Russia is like (had suffered soviet ocuaotion which in many ways was way worse than german) and would often warn about them, was mocked and disregarded.
      And now the conservative politicians who warned the most about them are accused for being pro russian... Like what the hell are they saying? It's crazy.
      Instead of saying 'yeah you were right. Sorry. Let's work together to get rid of that monster, the west insists on starting a dialogue with them.

    Well, first and foremost, Poland's history is complicated for 10 centuries, not just 20th century and Poland fought for independence for 200 years. So pointing out just troublesome 20th century is understatement of the year.
    Not accepting refugees was the right move and Europe is slowly waking up to the fact that they f*cked up. Sweden being best example. EU also has no right to dictate which country does what. But in general we will see more and more right wing governments emerge in Europe as the left is pushing for more LGBT and more migration from nations that do not share European culture, something we are already seeing in Sweden or Italy. Poland simply did not need to experience shit western European countries are experiencing right now to know its a bad idea.
    Not too long ago I saw some videos about people in the UK marching against the islamisation of the isles. Guess what? Poles were marching right beside the English to support them. Massive migration of Poles to the UK was bad, it was way too big in way too short time, but at the end of the day, its one European nation migrating to another European nation. Both sharing similar values and respecting each others culture and willing to protect it. Do you think that random islamist from the Pakistan is willing to die in defense of European values? These guys currently are walking down the streets of London with machettes.
    LGBT will have very hard time to take root in Poland, if at all. Reasons for this are numerous, but 2 main ones is that Poland sees what leftist agenda does to the world and then comes the fact that its traditional values that allowed Poland to survive 123 years of oppresion, persecution, death and misery, not identifying as a pansexual table. When LGBT screams 'oppression', typical Pole looks at that and says 'you do not even know what oppression is, sit down and shut up'.
    The anti German words spoken by ie Jarosław Kaczyński at 4:35 are completely correct. Guy is a moron in general, but he is not wrong in this. I suggest you research 'Gaullism'.
    Poland has ALWAYS been a counterweight to Germany-Russia axis. Napoleon understood this, De Gaulle understood this, Macron and his recent predecessors were too dumb to understand this and this is why we are in the mess we are now in Europe. Gaullism is a political stance devised by Charles De Gaulle that puts Poland as the most important ally of France and requires strong Poland to counter German tendencies to get friendly with Russia. Like f*ck, we are LITERALLY seeing this. France playing best buddies with Germany instead of Poland and woop dee doo and we are on the verge of WW3. It is LITERALLY unfolding in front of our eyes.
    Poland and Ukraine did not overcome the historical issues. They are simply put on hold due to, 'more pressing matters' involving Hitler 2.0 sitting at Kremlin. Ukraine still has quite a bit to do for Poles to forgive 1943. As of right now Poles are not even allowed to exhume the remains of the people OUN UPA murdered in most gruesome ways imaginable that make anything that Russians are doing right now in Ukraine look like child's play (I am not exaggerating btw, there are books describing over 200 methods of killing performed by Ukrainians and some would make you wanna throw up). Despite what some people say, 1943 is not ancient history and there are people who are still alive who witnessed their entire families being murdered.
    It's good that Ukraine and Poland start building relations again, but if Ukraine won't take responsibility for murders in Eastern Galicia it will destroy anything that these 2 nations are building right now.
    If you want security in Europe you need to either have France stop being so friendly with Germany and turn to Poland, or you need France-Germany-Poland to find a common ground on which they can work with as equals as opposed to France and Germany largely ignoring Poland for couple of decades. Only other option is USA-UK-Poland option that threatens EU stability.

      Well, to this post you have to answer:
      I am Polish so I can tell you that Jarosław Kaczyński and his party may not be the best, you can always attach to something, but the opposition is complete idiots. When I look at what is happening in Sweden or Germany, I was there before and after the waves of migration that they wanted to impose on Poland, I can only thank God that the rulers did not agree to it and did not bow to EU.
      on the other hand, he lives in a small commune with about 12,000 inhabitants and probably 1,000 foreigners (from Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Africa, even Chinese) and there is no friction between nationalities. It was true that it was not a wave like from Poland to the UK in 2004, but their number increased gradually and probably because most of them are similar cultures, so the assimilation went smoothly and the rest adjusted.
      and when it comes to defense and ensuring my own security, at the moment I see only cooperation between us / uk / pol and ukr (but this is the last one I will show) until the French policy does not change. France is now such a little brother to Germany and they are not going to change that for now. and hearing about this common eu army is a parody because who would manage it ?? france germany ?? if the Russians stood at the border, they would say you have nothing to worry about.

Now children's health concerns were retracted by the constitutional court but it's uncertain how the case will end up cause nearly every party is now using this as political amunition, LGBT free zones are overblown they aren't really prohibiting anything it's more of a symbolic opposition to sexual education and erosion of traditional values that happens and which every older generation tries to oppose, currently it's being retracted in many places since it's just a bad legally and even some right wingers see it as Illegal violation of private sphere of life, it will probably die out in few years. Syrian crisis help was firstly accepted but in the end retracted beacause Ukrainian war started seriously escalating in Donbas and Poland was housing hundreds of thousands of people already so they needed a place in case of full Russian invasion. BTW Polish representative was laughted at and accused of racism and rusophobia back then. Now we carry approx 65% of all refugees and with the rest of the ex-soviet block nearly 80% so that was good move I guess. As to that Orban thing, yeah it's bad. What to say our government sucks but the society is as anti-russian as it can be so they can't be even semi-neural or people will destroy them, for their eagerness they gained approx 5% in the pools on help to Ukraine and could actually try to stay in power thanks to that (however they probably won't manage too unless the opposition will be acting as if they purposely try to loose again). If Taiwans existence is threatened, I bet global markets will go into extreme turmoil because it will destroy the semiconductor supply chain and business and governments around the whole world may lose revenue. I bet Western Europe and USA would not hesitate to intervene directly with their militaries to defend Taiwan.

      In the end, it’s all about money. I know it sounds unfair, but any country that does affect the global economy significantly is basically a disposable country. Having a large military does not really make you strong.
      To become really powerful country, Poland needs to have a GDP in the trillions, not billions like china, Germany, USA. I bet you ask any economists in the world, and they would say it’s unlikely to happen in this century

    Poland is completely in the right. France and Germany's conduct in the Ukraine war has been embarrassing to the point of humiliating. If it hadn't been for rhe UK, US and Poland rushing supplies to the Ukranians they might not have been able to hold on at the start. Yet Germany dragged their feet and even criticised Lithuainia for enforcing the sanctions against Russia set by the EU. France has still barely offered any support, one journalist went to the depot in Poland where the NATO equipment arrives before going into Ukraine and couldn't find a single piece of equipment from France. Not to mention Macron continuing to be friendly with Putin well into the war.
    It's not going to cause the break up of the EU but it had irreparably damaged it. Eastern EU countries look to the UK and US for security and leadership after they realised they couldn't rely on EU/France/Germany to help Eastern Europe unless it alings with French/German interests. Macrons dream of an EU army is dead in the water.

    You can't blame Poland and others in the east for their tough position on the issue. We just don't feel safe being under constant threat from Russia. Also it seems like being part of the former eastern bloc gave us a little more understanding of how Russians do business. They couldn't compete on economic grounds so they resorted to military intervention which was the only thing they had left. Americans seem to get it more than western Europeans. Also for us poles losing Ukraine would mean turning Poland into the buffer we hope Ukraine to be and that would spell future economic trouble and possibly further hybrid war tactics in the region. Russia has done enough already to halt our growth. So the Eastern EU stands to lose much more in this conflict than the rest.

    We have the same issue here in the U.S. and personally I would lean towards the left camp, nevertheless I realize that in order for a healthy Democracy we must also maintain a strong right camp to balance us out in our national discourse. We need moderate left and moderate right, that's why the U.S. succeeds.
    We don't need Psychotic Left or Psychotic Right to take over and we need to remind ourselves of that on a regular basis.

    It's hard to estimate scale of gnocide in Volhynian region, Some sources claim it's "only" 60k civilians, but others go as high as 200k and there was no way to prove those numbers since Ukrainians never allowed any research in that manner and they still blocking it to this day. Also, I've never heard of 25k Ukrainian civil killed in return, sources I've seen in the past usually declared around 4k + another few thousand of Ukrainian militia which was directly responsible for the massacre.

    EU was designed to further both German and French companies access and influence throughout Europe. This was to help German and French companies to have gain greater access to other countries markets. What Poland is not willing to do is to allow the EU to dictate or to override the laws of Poland as an independent country. Poland has always been used and abused throughout its history. By Russia, in the past Sweden, Germany, Austria, Sweden and England who took its people to defend England into its armed forces but did not honour its duties under the pre WWII alliances it had with Poland. To add insult to injury they didn’t even allow the Poles to March in it’s victory parades after the war. Little wonder Poland is sceptical of assurances and promises from many unreliable “friendly” European countries. Primarily the USA has stood and supported Poland whenever possible. Hence Poles have trust and a strong friendship with America. Also recently the trust is slowly being rebuilt with England. Let’s look at what is happening now, lots of words coming from German and France regarding the Ukrainian and Russian conflict. Yet the actual real assistance being provided by these countries is minimal in nature so far. Again their self interest and economical priorities are what matters to these countries. One day, hopefully soon, their actions will match their words. Preferably before the war ends. From an proud Aussie with a Polish heritage.

      With that beeing said: I really do like the way that poland is walking by dismissing germany / france as well as hungary. I also think that the polish government does not fall blindly into love with america but they see US as another country with similar strategic interests.
      In the end europe needs to find a way how to work together to confront the other 2 global powerhouses that devide the world: US and China. Germany treats the EU as its fourth crowd and its influence in the EU harms Poland as much as they can and is fighting Poland politically and economically by the EU, accusing Poland of various legal aspects of Poland's internal law which legally does not apply to Poland's accession to the EU and this is a breach of EU law by the EU itself under the command of Germany.
