You forget about major detail regard Polish militarization. Specifically outside high-end systems and ad-hock acquisitions to compensate whole drama in Ukraine. Majority of new hardware would be made in Poland. That include thousand BWP Borsuk and same number of K2PL tanks. So majority of hardware would be still made in Poland.

Orban is not the worst I guess. Most worring is him engaging in corruption. Making gas deal with Russia seems good as switching to renewable sources of energy can be hard. Because to get hydrotermal energy you need to make big investments that do not bring high immediate profit. And I heard that although Hungary leads in this area it will not cover all of its demand for energy. Also I do not think making deals with Quatar (what Poland did) for gas is good as the country funds Islamic League - a terrorist organization. But maybe the switch is like in case of USA in 90s when they started to shut down renewable sources to depend more on oil. Idk coz I don't live in Hungary

A Pole here, with many contacts with DE. I observe it for some 20 years now, earlier it was a kind of patronizing, now it's more partnership, where each party provides its values. Personally I would say that it takes time for a Pole to understand a difference between north/south/west/east Germans (example: a Prussian in Munich). At first you are (mostly) very reserved, but when you chill out and open, we can talk for hours and even have jokes which my/your parents would find unacceptable :)
As a Korean, Poland has my respect. Both Poland and South Korea were once deeply impoverished countries with a long history of war and invasion. But now, both our countries are the complete opposite. Poland has a thriving economy, strong military, and drastically improved standard of living, as does South Korea, and both have established themselves as massive presences within their areas both economically and militarily. Poland even bought military equipment from South Korea! I don't know what exactly is going on in Poland right now, but whatever is happening, I hope for the best. Stay safe my Polish friends.

My grandparents emigrated from Poland over 100 years ago and settled in the United States where I was born and raised. After many visits and a stint studying in Poland I became a permanent resident and then a citizen. I live in Poland permanently now. The quality of life here far surpasses that of the USA and Western Europe. The people are clean and decent with still a basic feeling for what isright and wrong. And this is why Poland will surpass Western European countries. Niech zyje Polska!

I have been living in Poland now for 3 years and at least from my own perspective life is so much better here than it used to be in Germany when it comes to almost everything that is important to me. In the end I am glad that my father taught me at least some basic understand of the Polish language otherwise I would have probably never immigrated in the first place as the language is really hard to learn if you don't know anything about it.

I love Poland. I have great respect for Poland. I have studied Polish history and it is replete with heroism from its fight with the Mongols, through Jan Sobieski's salvation of Europe at the Battle of Vienna to the defeat of the Red Army's attempt to spread communism through Europe in 1920. As a Pole it always amazes me how much our country have been through. We were erased from maps and weren't considered a country for 123 years, it was also illegal to teach or talk in polish, they destroyed a lot of our books, paintings, etc. and we still survived. I can't even imagine what my ancestors have been through, I have tears in my eyes every time I think, talk or hear about it, so what did they have feel back then?
I visited Poland 7 years ago and this Summer visited again. The country has grown tremendously over these years. And I’m in love with the beauty of historic cities and how nice and clean everything is.

As a Dutch carpenter i frequently work with Polish people, i have to say that most of them are fine people to work with. Quiet, respectfull, generous, friendly and hard working people.
it always amuses me to judge a nation in terms of some anecdotal situation, the fact that you work with people from nationality X does not mean that the whole society is like that. There are good and bad people in every country.
My aunt married an Englishman a few years ago who came to Poland and is really delighted with our country. He learned Polish very well (he also knows several different languages). Good man - I like him a lot.

Cool video but there is 1 quite big mistake. Poland even during communism had quite well educated society, specially in mathematics and chemistry. Soviet education like system did not want its citizens to learn about economy/law etc cause they might revolt but they needed engineering to produce weaponry in cold war etc. So since Poland had quite well educated population and very, very low salaries = thats why western companies invested on 90' and 00'. Now population is ever better educated and salaries are still somewhat low compered to west so investing in Poland is good deal.
Plus one of the few good sideeffects of communism is that more women actually went for STEM. So women need less of a push than in the west, where they gravitate towards shit like psychology or "traditional" jobs
From my own research I did. I read that most educated people post communism occupations were threatened, deported or executed. There was this one forest where the Russians were executing hundreds of thousands of people just because they were educated or in positions that could threaten their rule.
I agree that Poland was an educated society at the end of the 'socialist' era. The change of 1980/81 would not have been possible without it. Science is science but also the arts, broad culture, history were mostly autonomous from the system in their content. You needed to be intellectually competitive to allow your publication a proper reception.
I am from New Zealand with a Polish wife and have been here in Poland for the past four months. To be honest don't really want to go home as scheduled in November. There is a feeling of peace from the moment you land here and some of the scenery is very beautiful. Krakow is the most beautiful old town and so well organised. Great trams and rail service. Only wish I could speak Polish as would love to spend a year or two living and working here. Poland is well worth a visit.
Crackcow as we students like to call it is actually one of the least peaceful cities... but yea if you live in smaller towns you're really safe and can do whatever you want in peace.

Polish people are the best migrants i now here in the netherlands. Our friend group even exists out some polish guys. They are nice and hard working people who want to make a difference. I went on holliday with my father to poland. In the beginning he didn't want to go because he remembered poland from the sovjet days as i eastern poor country. After the holliday he changed his view on poland. It was one of the best countrys we have ever visit with nice people.

I was born in year 2000 so I haven't seen the 90's but I really took for granted the change that happened in the last 20 years in Poland, until I visited Ukraine in 2016. It looked like Poland from my earliest memories, if not poorer. I thought its the World that is developing so fast. Turn's out it was only my polish World and that it won't last forever.

Some time ago I've seen a western media and politcians opinions about Poland from the early 90s - many of them were convinced that after the fall of communism Poland will become some kind of a quasi-fascist, authoritarian state, which is mind-boggling to me. I welcome our new polish overlords. Worked with a ton of Polish people in Dublin and I have zero bad thing to say about any Polish people. They are easily the hardest working and nicest people in Europe. They integrate immediately into Irish society with no problems.
They did the same here in the UK and considering in the space of about 2 years we saw an influx of about 2 million of them I’ve never seen a community interstate so well in the communities, work places and the kids in schools. I’m in the construction sector and can also say I’ve never met a lazy Pole !

As a Polish I'm really touched with all those kind comments. I must say that I really felt how much Poland and Warsaw has developed this year when I was visiting Berlin after 12 years. Once I felf like poor neighbour, I was fastinated in modern architecture and public spaces and this time I felt like Warsaw now looks much better. This made me proud of how much we done during these last years.

It's really amazing how much Poland has changed. My family left Poland in 1991 to immigrate to the United States, and when we went back to Poland in 2011, we were in complete shock at how much the country had changed and improved.

My polish grandfather who survived the 2nd world war. He said that he had no crumbs with the germans, he accepted they lost and got occupied. But all his life he hated the brits, because you guys had an alliance, a pact, that if one of the countries would be invaded, the other one would assist. My grandad was very sure to never forget that the brits didn't raise a finger, and then you used the polish pilots, who escaped to the uk, for suicide missions. So yeah, my dead polish granddad will smile in his grave if PL beats UK 2030 with the bnp. Im Swedish, who never war, in a way I can laugh at all this, I just find that to be an interesting piece of history, talking about learning from the the polish.

Yes most migrants to Poland are ethnic Europeans and Christian’s like Ukrainians and Belarusians, or Christian’s like Georgians, but recently more Indians, Turks, Vietnamese, Chinese, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, etc have started to migrate to Poland and more of them will go to Poland as your economy is growing and you need the labour. Poland will become just as diverse as Western Europe or even more, the Polish birth rate is one of the lowest in Europe, you either accept non European migrants or you die out. Even Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia have slowly started to accept more non-European migrants, most of east Europe (former eastern bloc countries) will now accept non European migrants.

I am from Turkmenistan and having visited many EU countries, have to say that I liked Poland most out of them all and will rank it even above ones like Italy(where I reside currently), Germany, France, Spain and many others. Beautiful Baltic Gdansk, summer Warsaw and warm people gave me the great memories. Knowing russian one can understand polish language as well. Food is cheap and delicious, many museums, like resistance to Nazis, Communists and Kopernik science museum, and parks to visit. Definitely would love to visit again. All the best to this country

I visited Poland recently and was shocked. I expected it to feel soviet and sad, but it was vibrant and very pretty, delicious food, well-dressed people. Well-kept homes. Was very nice. I'm not usually one to engage in conflicts over such matters and topics. But know that we still remember the Swedish Deluge, better known in Sweden as Karl X Gustav's Polish War. During that war, a larger percentage of the inhabitants of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth perished than in the 20th century during World War II. And the cultural artifacts that were looted have not been returned to this day. Consider where the manuscripts of Nicolaus Copernicus in Uppsala came from.
When I visited Poland in 2010 it was very easy to see Poland become great if politics didn’t get in the way. There was a fantastic work ethic and brilliant minds, I gave them 25 to 30 years to become incredible. I’m glad to see Poland is still on track.

You forget about major detail regard Polish militarization. Specifically outside high-end systems and ad-hock acquisitions to compensate whole drama in Ukraine. Majority of new hardware would be made in Poland. That include thousand BWP Borsuk and same number of K2PL tanks. So majority of hardware would be still made in Poland.

Orban is not the worst I guess. Most worring is him engaging in corruption. Making gas deal with Russia seems good as switching to renewable sources of energy can be hard. Because to get hydrotermal energy you need to make big investments that do not bring high immediate profit. And I heard that although Hungary leads in this area it will not cover all of its demand for energy. Also I do not think making deals with Quatar (what Poland did) for gas is good as the country funds Islamic League - a terrorist organization. A Pole here, with many contacts with DE. I observe it for some 20 years now, earlier it was a kind of patronizing, now it's more partnership, where each party provides its values. Personally I would say that it takes time for a Pole to understand a difference between north/south/west/east Germans (example: a Prussian in Munich). At first you are (mostly) very reserved, but when you chill out and open, we can talk for hours and even have jokes which my/your parents would find unacceptable :)
As a Korean, Poland has my respect. Both Poland and South Korea were once deeply impoverished countries with a long history of war and invasion. But now, both our countries are the complete opposite. Poland has a thriving economy, strong military, and drastically improved standard of living, as does South Korea, and both have established themselves as massive presences within their areas both economically and militarily. Poland even bought military equipment from South Korea!
I don't know what exactly is going on in Poland right now, but whatever is happening, I hope for the best. Stay safe my Polish friends.

My grandparents emigrated from Poland over 100 years ago and settled in the United States where I was born and raised. After many visits and a stint studying in Poland I became a permanent resident and then a citizen. I live in Poland permanently now. The quality of life here far surpasses that of the USA and Western Europe. The people are clean and decent with still a basic feeling for what isright and wrong. And this is why Poland will surpass Western European countries. Niech zyje Polska!

@@mylifeismymisery Well, my father is Polish and my mother is German, so I am kinda of mixed heritage, anyway, I was born and raised in Germany in the city of Hamburg. I have been living in Poland now for 3 years and at least from my own perspective life is so much better here than it used to be in Germany when it comes to almost everything that is important to me. In the end I am glad that my father taught me at least some basic understand of the Polish language otherwise I would have probably never immigrated in the first place as the language is really hard to learn if you don't know anything about it.

I love Poland. I have great respect for Poland. I have studied Polish history and it is replete with heroism from its fight with the Mongols, through Jan Sobieski's salvation of Europe at the Battle of Vienna to the defeat of the Red Army's attempt to spread communism through Europe in 1920. Poland was destroyed by the Nazis coming through to their retreat and the overrun by the Russians and yet it rises! It continues to be the bulwark against Russian invasion of Western Europe.

As a Pole it always amazes me how much our country have been through. We were erased from maps and weren't considered a country for 123 years, it was also illegal to teach or talk in polish, they destroyed a lot of our books, paintings, etc. and we still survived. Cool video but there is 1 quite big mistake. Poland even during communism had quite well educated society, specially in mathematics and chemistry. Soviet education like system did not want its citizens to learn about economy/law etc cause they might revolt but they needed engineering to produce weaponry in cold war etc.
So since Poland had quite well educated population and very, very low salaries = thats why western companies invested on 90' and 00'.
Now population is ever better educated and salaries are still somewhat low compered to west so investing in Poland is good deal.
Salaries growth very much in the last 8 years.
Plus one of the few good sideeffects of communism is that more women actually went for STEM. So women need less of a push than in the west, where they gravitate towards shit like psychology or "traditional" jobs

From my own research I did. I read that most educated people post communism occupations were threatened, deported or executed. There was this one forest where the Russians were executing hundreds of thousands of people just because they were educated or in positions that could threaten their rule.
I agree that Poland was an educated society at the end of the 'socialist' era. The change of 1980/81 would not have been possible without it. Science is science but also the arts, broad culture, history were mostly autonomous from the system in their content. You needed to be intellectually competitive to allow your publication a proper reception.
I am from New Zealand with a Polish wife and have been here in Poland for the past four months. To be honest don't really want to go home as scheduled in November. There is a feeling of peace from the moment you land here and some of the scenery is very beautiful. Krakow is the most beautiful old town and so well organised. Great trams and rail service. Only wish I could speak Polish as would love to spend a year or two living and working here. Poland is well worth a visit.
Crackcow as we students like to call it is actually one of the least peaceful cities... but yea if you live in smaller towns you're really safe and can do whatever you want in peace.

I went on holliday with my father to poland. In the beginning he didn't want to go because he remembered poland from the sovjet days as i eastern poor country. After the holliday he changed his view on poland. It was one of the best countrys we have ever visit with nice people.

can I ask you why you were so pessimistic? Some time ago I've seen a western media and politcians opinions about Poland from the early 90s - many of them were convinced that after the fall of communism Poland will become some kind of a quasi-fascist, authoritarian state, which is mind-boggling to me. They forgot that divide and conquer/"dziel i rządź" doesn't really go as far as to partition Poland to districts again (I've heard historians claiming that everything from from the creation of Polska dzielnicowa/dividing Poland among sons by that king was just downhill, maybe except for some specific short bursts of increase in power (incl. economics) like last 30 years and the time between wars.

I welcome our new polish overlords. Worked with a ton of Polish people in Dublin and I have zero bad thing to say about any Polish people. They are easily the hardest working and nicest people in Europe. They integrate immediately into Irish society with no problems.
They did the same here in the UK and considering in the space of about 2 years we saw an influx of about 2 million of them I’ve never seen a community interstate so well in the communities, work places and the kids in schools. I’m in the construction sector and can also say I’ve never met a lazy Pole !

As a Polish I'm really touched with all those kind comments. I must say that I really felt how much Poland and Warsaw has developed this year when I was visiting Berlin after 12 years. Once I felf like poor neighbour, I was fastinated in modern architecture and public spaces and this time I felt like Warsaw now looks much better. This made me proud of how much we done during these last years.

My polish grandfather who survived the 2nd world war. He said that he had no crumbs with the germans, he accepted they lost and got occupied. My grandad was very sure to never forget that the brits didn't raise a finger, and then you used the polish pilots, who escaped to the uk, for suicide missions. I am knowledgable and I’m aware of the situation in Poland. Yes most migrants to Poland are ethnic Europeans and Christian’s like Ukrainians and Belarusians, or Christian’s like Georgians, but recently more Indians, Turks, Vietnamese, Chinese, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, etc have started to migrate to Poland and more of them will go to Poland as your economy is growing and you need the labour.
Poland will become just as diverse as Western Europe or even more, the Polish birth rate is one of the lowest in Europe, you either accept non European migrants or you die out.
Even Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia have slowly started to accept more non-European migrants, most of east Europe (former eastern bloc countries) will now accept non European migrants.

Polish products are wonderful, they create a LOT of inexpensive, high quality, genuine ingredients in their skincare and cosmetics, free of junk and I will always support any company that doesn't sell their soul to a big corporate takeover, THAT should never happen in Poland, no one should ever storm in and take over again and that goes for all good right thinking companies everywhere, keep the corruption out. Polish people are lovely and I truly wish them well.
I am from Turkmenistan and having visited many EU countries, have to say that I liked Poland most out of them all and will rank it even above ones like Italy(where I reside currently), Germany, France, Spain and many others. Beautiful Baltic Gdansk, summer Warsaw and warm people gave me the great memories. Knowing russian one can understand polish language as well. Food is cheap and delicious, many museums, like resistance to Nazis, Communists and Kopernik science museum, and parks to visit. Definitely would love to visit again. All the best to this country

I visited Poland recently and was shocked. I expected it to feel soviet and sad, but it was vibrant and very pretty, delicious food, well-dressed people. Well-kept homes. Was very nice. The Poles have a good reputation in my home country as hard-working salt of the earth people and with their tough history I'm happy to see them thriving.

When I visited Poland in 2010 it was very easy to see Poland become great if politics didn’t get in the way. There was a fantastic work ethic and brilliant minds, I gave them 25 to 30 years to become incredible. I’m glad to see Poland is still on track.
I wasn’t convinced to polish people until i hired 3 blokes, who just happened to stepped out of the ferry.

As a Pole I may say, there are many bad sides of us. but yes - it is true: lots of Poles can think by themselves and get their hands (+everything else) dirty. Polak jakoś wykombinuje. Many other nations who used to live under socialism managed that skill, but on different levels. Sadly, there are some of us polluted by socialism for generations, but spirit of our ancestors seems to be really hard to erase...

@@costaricap7122 Well, Anton is probably Begian so for citizens of EU there are no working restrictions within EU area. Probably, as a citizen of Costa Rica you should have working permit from Polish side. But check it at the polish government pages. Of course if you like to come here as a tourist its easy access. It very depends where from you moved to Belgium. You know, with proper visa, any worker will be able to work in variety of countries. The question is not where to work, but were to live.
as a Pole I must admit that the growth and transformation in the last ~20 years has been fast and tangible. It's like night and day compared to 90's Poland.

I went to Poland back in 2019 for my high school senior trip and I’m grateful to visit that great country. Love the history, people, culture, hope nothing but greatness for Poland.
