Seeing Jordan cleaning the wheelhouse windows…made me think just how good every like bit of kindness shown to the boat is gradually reversing all the years of neglect and she really is starting to live again… it’s great how she’s being restored inside out too… amazing x
I'm a southerner and it's really good to hear those Liverpool accents. There is a warmth to them. "They couldn't afford the top coat"...what a great line. Made me laugh out loud. 😁
Thank you for the view into your personal space with your videos. Always nice to see the banter between everyone there. Thanks for the smiles. Never forget, we are here as your guests, don't change who you are based on any negative comments. :)
12/02*/2022 Hello Ship. Your help is special. Fun but very good at the work. I like the palm hammer. We used this type tool nail driver for hurricane sizemic braces in very tight locations. New paint and all. She sure looks a lot more shipshape by the hour. Stay safe 1 year ago. Don usa
The laughter , the banter , all of those smiles , Sarinda is going to be a very happy ship. The palm nailer makes quick work of those washers and the copper rivets for sure. I'm happy almost all of the time , I am always happier after I have watched one of your videos. Be well .. Keep smiling .. Catch ya on the flip side .. Cheers.
You guys are just incredible. The work is getting done, the videography is first class, and the humour is classic! You survived Arwen, hope you don't suffer with Barra.
I’m really so excited for you both!! Yaba is really taking shape. The interior living area is so massive, and the drop down on the side rail, with all of the windows that will be installed was a great design change. Just so beautiful!
You found a song about painting things gray? Lol nice! When that boat doesn't rot because it was cleaned so well and painted even Weller, yes that is a word those boys will regret harrasing you Gemma 😉
Guys, don't finish work on the boat for a few more years because your channel provides us with a lot of optomism and happiness, but l suspect that even you sail - the same warmth and fun will still be there.
You are cool ! I've been watching you for 3 days! And I'll stay here. I am building a yacht with a hole, not a motor yacht, but a sailing yacht. Take a look at your free time.
I'm sitting here watching this in our boat with the wind howling and the rain pissing down, luckily we're alongside in the marina not out on a mud flat.
Hi from Newfoundland. Your doing things the proper way. Your enjoying yourselves ,having fun and your still getting the work done. Like my dad always said. Two hands made it so two hands can fix it. Love to see it in person one of those days. Your doing great keep up the great work. Take care.
Great to see you having some regular helpers GREAT WORK GUYS !! RESPECT ! Good job you didn't invite me coz it wouldn't be the wind that would be keeping you awake lol There is going to be some FANTASTIC MEMORIES ON THAT LITTLE O'LE BOAT OF YOURS THAT YOUR NEVER GOING TO BE ABLE TO REPLACE !! As possibly mentioned before I think you should have a little space where the people who have helped and contributed should have there name as a thank you ! Just my 2 bobs worth xx
Well done for pressing on with the work -I was on the Wirral that weekend and it took me the rest of the week to get warm again; that wind was bitterly cold and the temptation to drink coffee and huddle round the stove must have been enormous.
Well it's Friday. I find myself looking forward to Friday to see a new episode of Ship Happens. Thanks for sharing your adventure with me. Merry Christmas to all your family.
Looks like you had great fun despite the battering weather, and the new work looks excellent. The project just keep getting better - progress is really being made now.
sometime next year I'm looking at getting over that way in one of my superyachts might be the new Absolute 68 Gemmer you and your kids can hang out on board and Simon can sit in the tender just for being mean to her lol
Exactly what I was thinking on the last video, now to communicate with the bucker on the outside (instead of blowing out your vocal chords) you can tap on the fastener once for more and twice when its bucked to move to the next fastener. Thats how we the aircraft structure mechanics have been doing it since I stated back in the 80s, thousands (maybe millions) of rivets on aircraft. Nice job and great video
You guys are as nutty as a bunch of sailors, but keep on working while having a bit of fun... I like that UK Battleship Grey with a touch of blue green in the pigment. You need someone keeping up with the chronometer, otherwise you will forget when its time to "splice the main brace." Cheers to all.
You could try sleeping with earplugs the next time you have to sleep on the boat when it's windy. Also, don't go on about the wind without showing the wind generator output. Teases!
Real happy about the Simon Built [maybe a good Brand name] mud hooks though Arwen payin a visit! But that tall cheeky glass-ed 1 could run the [paint] roller round the overheads 😉 Warm mud is way better than cold mud though, been there, done that. Nice work and thanks Robbo and Jordan. Thanks m8s, you and yours stay safe and well
Would you consider using an airless sprayer painting them frames instead of a roller you can get just as much paint on , and cover more area , with less effort . And follow up with a brush as needed .
When you're doing all that copper nail work, a video baby monitor would come in handy. Put the camera inside aimed at the work area and the outside man can use the monitor to see exactly which nail to hold with much less yelling. Portable and reasonably inexpensive. Alternatively, you might be able to connect a small monitor to your security camera system with a long cable to move around, then just hang it from the side where it's useful.
"There are warnings of gales in all areas... gale 8 or severe gale 9 or storm 10 or..." The Beeb's announcer cautioned. And there's another on the way for Sunday/Monday. Here too this weekend, we'll stay away from the tall trees (30+ meters) in the backyard.
Hi from Northwoods Tim. The palm nailer made short work for you. We're getting hit with storms here too. 8 inches last night, and 8 inches Last Sunday. P[us a couple 1 inch dustings during the week. We'll definately have a white Christmas. Great video, thanks for the giggles.
All i can say is wish i had one of them when i had boats and all that hammer pain like you said, good little tool there nice one, your well open there for the wind south easterly if i remember best but not 70mph lol
I have to admit I was worried for you , we are just downriver on the Welsh side with nothing in front of the house and it was scary that night ., hopefully you will have now come through storm barra unscathed as well .. I was shocked at seeing the amount of huge trees blown down in west Kirby mid week so you did well
When they built that ship originally, why would they not have given it 6” more headroom.? And, will you need to add all the ballast back into the ship if you are not going to add the weight back onto the boat? Ie. shells, men guns and such?
HMMM-lots of "shady" thoughts running rampart in this Video. Guess you all had a good time at the Sleepover. The Palm nailer is quite the new tool. No, the Mud is just too much for me though. All keep well and healthy. Happy Holidays! Rich
I always wonder , am I the only one here that clicks the translation button (cc) to help understand the talking on the vid ? sometimes their local accent is tough to follow ! ( even after all my years listening to Monty Python ) I'm from USA and need the captions each week !
Hello Simon and Gemma, I'm a new subscriber to the channel, I've been lurking in the background a while catching up with all the work you've done so far, I think I've watched 19 or 20 episodes up 'till now. Many many years ago I was a Steward in the MN and I love anything relating to the sea and boats etc. There is one thing I would like to ask you, I haven't yet heard anything about the ship's bell, is the original ship's bell on board? Regards Richard

Robbo is really funny he sounds like a great chap
As a retired Canadian Navy guy it is great to watch you and your crew resurrect the old girl. Bravo Zulu .
Thanks to the subtitles - I have absolutely no idea what they are saying but it's a banging channel 👌

That palm nailer is as you brits would say, brilliant. Looking good guys. Great progress.

Epic restoration and epic people doing a brilliant job. I look forward to my weekly dose of Ship Happens.
"Was the roof of the boat damaged during the storm?"
"Dunno, we haven't found it yet."

You have the copper nails down to a fine art now, coming along nicely. Well done all. 👍😁⚓🚢💪

That pram nailer that's wicked 😁
glad to see your still having fun even during high winds and the shared sense of humour all around
What wonderful friends! Love to you all.
You know, the Sarindans could start a band and call themselves " The English Rovers". Great job on the roves!
My singing would see you all off for good!!!
With each episode I see progress. Alot to do but your heading in the proper direction. Someday I would like to see the boat in person. Good Luck!
ALOHA glade you used the palm nailer. Suggested way back lol great work guys

Great team work guys
Well done everyone. Simon just shows how well you secured Sarinda a few weeks ago! She’s a tough boat for sure 🌟👍👏
Another great ep. Looks like your new tools are going to be a great boon. 👍
Loving your onboard adventures 👍
I can imagine that wind ... I sometimes see the coconut palms bending horizontal here ....at least you are prepared for when you visit us 🇻🇨

Palm nailer. Great idea. That's a lot like the rivet gun I suggested, only without the compressed air.
The original palm nailers were air powered with lithium batteries there now cordless ones like they have.
What ever weather that throws at you, keep safe.
"Paint your nukes!" I'm still laughing
Even out the testosterone levels 😁😁 Although it’s nice to see how brave Simon gets now that he has 2 other men to protect him. 😂😂😂
Much better roving with that tool.
Excellent best one yet

Sure enough. a gust snapped the trunk of a 30 meter maple tree, about 10m off the ground. It ripped the power transformer off the adjacent pole too.

3 inches … hahah he’s a bragger !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hot pot on the cooker and ride the winds out to lol

I have a Snapdragon, ive not put in the water yet, been thinking of ancoring along the west part of Wirral?
good vid
how did the wind effect the battaries with the new wind generator.fully charged? you guys are great !!

Originally the boat never had ballast when in warship configuration, it was only added when the yacht conversion was done x
