Good video and breakdown of some scam strategies 👌🏻 Maybe #IBM could consider repackage it in some short-form, as there’s another big audience out there that should get this kind of information. The future of business.
Good suggestion. We've been doing some TH-cam shorts lately that run 60 secs (or less) and there could be a few generated from this for those who don't want to watch the long version
@ yes, that would be nice 👍🏻 and maybe some examples with other social medias that are potential sources of information, or payment methods that youngsters use most. Because those are a serious threat when someone’s identity is compromised.
I was nearly a victim of one and I work in tech 🤣🤣 . It sounded so good they overplayed it, that's how I made it out. I double checked the name, story on multiple forums and it was the same text. They didn't score high on creativity.
I'm glad you caught it before they caught you. The one thing we can count on with these scammers so far is that they do a lot of copy/paste. In the future, AI may be more creative
I think the user should be able to write the questions to confirm identity, not only supplying the answers to the by now so easy to answer questions like which city were you born, or your mother's maiden name...
You try to find a job, so you send a CV to some "reputable company" This CV ends in bad hands, and it sells your CV for the best bidder on the net. You are screwed.
All your personal information is already on the internet. It's not us that are the problem it's the banks, government, medical organisations etc that leak our information.
Because people didn't get scammed by these techniques. They are scammed by the never-ending psychological manipulation that the scammers conducted to their victims, which contributed 99% of the time they are conversed with each other. As long as we never talked about this, scams will never end. Society has been scammed-victim-shaming since the beginning of the time. Scamming will never end, it'll keeps evolving with AI and Deepfake. If you think you will never fall into one because you are very smart, then most likely, you will become a victim in the near future.
They have a whole script, workflow in place like a giant decision tree suited for the type of personality of the victim. Even food ordering apps already have this.
Another version of this is the inheritance / romance scam been attempted on me at least twice but all starts similar 🤔 🤨 eventually found out they were in Venezuela obviously 🙄
Great video, very informative. Everyone should take advantage of this great opportunity, if I'm not talking about the legitimacy of your company then I'm ungrateful, I was like jumping in the air because it's been a long time since I heard people meet with a sincere cybersecurity manager like this *GrindTechiei* , I will never stop talking about your good work. God bless you for the bottom line
This is such a great video. It should be mandatory for everyone to watch it at least once a year.
I'm so glad you liked it!
Appreciate how this video breaks down the anatomy of the scam. Thanks!
I’m glad you liked it!
Hi,from where you are
Telling us to be careful and shifting the responsibility to us seems to be the purpose of the security industry.
Thanks, Jeff. This is an excellent video on scams that are not as addressed as romance scams, and phishing etc.
Glad you liked it, Scott!
Thanks, great job!

Definitely
Hi You are doing a great Job Sir.. was very helpful
Thanks for saying so!
The real question here, Is... How 'F#' can you write from right to left so god????!!! 🤔🤔🤔
The IBM people are in another level of knowledge
I hate to burst your bubble but I can’t write backwards. Search the IBM Technology channel for “how we make them” and you’ll learn the trick
The secret is simple, mirror the video!
Very informative ❤
I think recent anonymous messages I received in signal and whatsapp are similar. We need to be cautious.
For sure. I’m getting these regularly. Just got another this morning
I know this, I was getting through it and I know all the details even the location of scammers, they strategies etc
Good insightful video. Most of these scammers are in Nigeria, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, India.

I agree but, unfortunately, most people would have no idea what questions to ask
FREEZE do not lock your credit.
Dont even open it if you don’t recognize the number. Delete and report as spam.
don't post any personal info on the internet.

Good advice, but it's not posting personal info that's illegal
They can social engineer you by going through your trash to get personal information that home owners and businesses didn't shred.
All your personal information is already on the internet. It's not us that are the problem it's the banks, government, medical organisations etc that leak our information.
Report all scams to your police or the relevant authority (local CERT, FBI, commerce departments etc)
I was defrauded of more than 900,000 yuan in cross-border e-commerce before. Fortunately, I found a lawyer to help me recover it.
I'm sorry that happened to you. Congratulations on recovering your money. That's rare
Thank you for sharing, I have seen alibaba cloud used in cyber attacks like this, beware of the alibaba cloud service everyone!
People only get educated on avoiding scams after being scammed, lol!
We are always playing catch up, unfortunately, but if enough people see this video, we might prevent a few
I got a scam recruit from ninja promos
I feel like I get one of these just about every day
How the hell people still fall for these scams???

I’m already fat from eating too much ham, but thanks anyways.
I was butchered by school and society. Don’t trust anyone.
I know what you are talking about. The key is to learn to listen, observe, and analyze; and to question everything, without losing our essence.

Stay frosty, stay vigilant!
