Should have invested that money in Railways and metro connectivity. Example : kurnool to Hyderabad cost 400 in bus 180 in train and directly reach central part of city. Then why would some one spare 2500 to reach hyd airport and again take taxi to raech central part of city .

This is all down lack of air capacity allowed by Govt. to foreign carriers. We cannot rely on India carriers, we have to give more capacity to International airlines.
Real problem is lack of proper road connectivity to the airport. For 20 km distance, taxi driver charges around 2000 rupees. Air fare is 2500 from Mumbai. Improve road infra, bus transportation and see the result. You will be surprised.
It is all about giving the 'babus' more money to satisfy thier egos and likes of Adani, more public money. When you don't have basic amenities like uninterrupted power, telephone, water, gas, good roads not just highways...what's the point in building airports!!
Main issue with pondicherry is sudden cancellation of scheduled flight and also no alternate arranged.. Flight operators need to give a flight from chennai and give travel compensation to chennai also, if they cant fly and cancel at last day..
Meanwhile PUNE (an industrial hub) has to live without an International Quality/Standard Airport despite Punekars/Maharashtra paying highest taxes in India for decades!!
In North America and Europe small towns have airports. These small airports are connectivity hubs in case of emergency - security, medical and natural calamity. Even if the airport is not having traffic that does not mean we should not have futuristic plan.

All domestic flights here are low class enough(except vistara). Drop any further and you'd start geting cattle, paan eaters and chaiwalas in the aisles.

Another 10 years flew by, and China transportation network was at a point being simply the most efficient and at a scale human civilization had never seen, and they ain't stopping. Point being, making things look good on the outside is useless.
Sochkar banane chaheye the na yeh airports. Isse better existing ko better kar dete. Also, when cheaper options via bus and train are available, then majority of population would prefer that mode
Heavy taxes on common people will fill treasury for infrastructure development.. Hand over them to Adani group for maintenance with high charges on people.. Allow Airlines to charge higher airfares on people.. Middle class will be proud of watching Airports and Airlines sitting outside..

@@tanweeralam1650 Manufacturing sector of India is weak. Manufacturing doesn't create quick returns but gives a lot of stable jobs. Those jobs are difficult to do and cannot be replaced by AI. Salary in modern manufacturing is good it's not insanely high as IT but it is plenty.
Everyone in India corporates and ministers, concentrated on IT for quick return. That sector is slowly dying, since IT infra is mostly made plus AI can maintain and upgrade it easily. For example: Indians never made windows they were always contractor who supported making certain modules of it.

Because they building it places where it is not viable...but, easy to build...i will give you an example...sabrimala in Kerala is one of the busiest pilgrimage site in india...there have been efforts to build an airport there...but land acquisition is not easy and the central don't care it is not going forward quickly... meanwhile it is easier to build in nowhere because the cost of land acquisition is less... government is not looking at economic viability just blind infrastructure building
They should have made flights to Ratnagiri instead of sindhudurg in Maharashtra..
Reaching the airport, costs more time and money than the flight sometimes.
Few cities require airport but not included as agreement like Hosur airport which will be beneficial for both Bangalore and hosur region but due agreement with KIA aiport they are not. Also few airports like pune airport working in full capacity.however new airport work is delayed.
Main problem is steep inflation of other commodities and stagnant salaries making people to choose cheaper modes of transport. People expending on luxury is decreasing because of inflation.
India has no govt airline 😂😂
Airlines in india is luxury, its not cheap like usa . No low budget carriers in india. Heavy tax another problem.
And then they do politics like removing flights from Jabalpur to Gwalior because the Minister belonged toh that constituency
These are built for our politicians be it MPs, MLAs for their convenience and are helpful during political rallies and for their self interests.
People mostly use trains and buses for local journey. And air journey is not affordable for majority of people.
Last moment they would tell that the flight was cancelled and direct passengers to go by Goa flight to reach Sindhudurga.
That costs alot.Taxi fares are huge.
Many times that must have happened.
Such an unreliable journey.🙏
In our city hubli Karnataka there was flights for hubli to Ahmedabad which was full most of time then indigo discontinued and went to belgavi and same thing many times flights gets cancelled or shifts to other cities and
This is a balanced report on the issue could have done with more details from the other side too, maybe next time
Honestly I don’t see demand in Goa’s new Manohar Airport ever being as high as they thought it would.
Hello Luke. I agree to a point. Frankly, Dabolim was a good location in my experience though constraints due to the rules. Mopa needs better connectivity to the rest of Goa. That's the major question. Maybe, it will pick up in future. I'm hopeful, let's see.
It's good, we don't want airports to become the new railway stations
Earning not rising
Cost of everything rising fast
Look at the ticket prices
A lot can be done. For example, in Agra airport process is very smooth but there is no parking. You need to reach by a taxi (or someone drops you). Next, you have to look for airport bus to get you to the terminal.
There are similar bottlenecks in several small airports.
Thanks to Nirmala mam😂😂
2 airports are cited in biased report. Rome is not built overnight. Check how Dehradun and Jaiselmer turnaround. Also what about success stories like Darbhanga, Deoghar, Ayodhya, Jharsuguda, Hubli, GOX, etc.
Lower class and Middle class never going to fly in aeroplanes that's out of the question. Only upper middle class or high class have the capability but they are very small in number at the same time flight travel is very expensive in india so they will opt out cheap alternative express trains.
out of 175 airports , if 3-4 are underutiised ... shudnt be termed as failure of planning .. these are long term investments .. our airlines are in transition phase .. lets wait for 2-3 years
I am from Solapur
Everyone prefers trains as there are many trains from Solapur to almost every big city in the country
Airports don’t take off ! Airplanes take off and land from them 😂😂
It cost me 11k for a flight from bengaluru to lucknow and total of 22k around this cost is only of flights , i am currently thinking to go directly to delhi and get a bus from there to my village which will cost me around 7k and from other side use train which will save me around 10k every trip, currently travelling via plane is not feasible. I do atleast 5 round trips which cost around 1 lakh currently.
Indians don't really have much of spending culture on flights, plus how these regional flights are deployed and operated also play a factor. For example someone from Karnataka from a location away from mega city might not travel to UP which is another regional place and how many would travel to big cities?
India to Dubai Flight costs around 10k but , Darbhanga ( A small towun in north Bihar) to Bengaluru flight with a shorter travel duration cost 15k , sometimes 20k. How on earth that is affordable to common people. The fare was 6-7k almost a year ago.
Flying is not for everyone. For the middle class and definitely not for the poor.
But how come dubai provide a cheaper flight??@@ddb0831
They built airport where no demand and don't built airport where their is demand. Best example Telangana have only one airport in Hyderabad for passengers😢 no other airport through out Telangana.

Remember when they opened bank accounts they said the same thing why so many accounts with zero balances.look now we got it became back bone of digital economy.we don’t have enough flights. They are all orders pending
Pls dont compare banks to airports. Remember one pandemic simple virus made whole worlds airport to kneel down. Even after knowing covid 19 n its aftermath govt shouldn't have done so many airports. They could instead focus on metros n sewage treatment. Open mor public parks. Where gym workout, kids play area having aprks. Look at dubai if they wish they could do so many airports, but u ll see at every 5 kms there is a park ,theme parks like jogger sparks, paw parks for pets, bbq parks, pond parks.
Profit only to Contractors like ADANI to build the airport with , Taxpayer money given as cheap loanes , then Default loanes written off ...😂

Although I wanted to take flight to Kushinagar, I chose Gorakhpur airport as price was approximately half compared to price of flight to Kushinagar (for just ~50 km distance difference).
First reduce prices of food in airports. Even in a lousy airport like Pune, food is priced at 5x of outside. The only airport I’ve seen with reasonably priced food is Shivamogga airport in Karnataka. This makes flying, especially to cities like Bengaluru, a very pricy proposition.
Should have invested that money in Railways and metro connectivity.
Example : kurnool to Hyderabad cost 400 in bus 180 in train and directly reach central part of city. Then why would some one spare 2500 to reach hyd airport and again take taxi to raech central part of city .
That is why India's metro network has increased from from 243km to 993km and 997km under construction (the work is slow because the opposition as usual opposes it for no reason and pritest that it will harm enviorment caused significantdelays) also in last 10 years 31,000 km of new railway line has been added
People spend money on airport for comfort and time, can go from bengluru to Kolkata 20x cheaper than plane but people still use planes as it does not take 3 days transporting time in a train
Indians prefer to travel four adults on a motor cycle and a dozen in a five seater sedan. Airports are just too futuristic. The government should have known better 😂.
The reason behind all these ruckus is govt has made flight journey a luxury 😊
This is all down lack of air capacity allowed by Govt. to foreign carriers. We cannot rely on India carriers, we have to give more capacity to International airlines.
The flights are costly, that's why.
Real problem is lack of proper road connectivity to the airport. For 20 km distance, taxi driver charges around 2000 rupees. Air fare is 2500 from Mumbai. Improve road infra, bus transportation and see the result. You will be surprised.
Darbhanga Airport which is successful is yet to have proper terminal
Make tickets bit cheaper ...and see the difference but this govt believes in tax collection on everything
Patna airport is overcrowded and the replacement airport has been under construction for five plus years!!
Better convert them Into Airforce bases or Airforce training bases so it’s better utilized ❤️
Struggling because NO FACILITIES and ZERO INFRASTRUCTURE ...
Don’t forget the airport taxi fare. Almost cost 30-40% of the airfare. Cheaper to travel by train/bus where the stations are in the city.
It is all about giving the 'babus' more money to satisfy thier egos and likes of Adani, more public money. When you don't have basic amenities like uninterrupted power, telephone, water, gas, good roads not just highways...what's the point in building airports!!
Flight becomes luxurious thing
how many can pay for these trips abroad these days?
Main issue with pondicherry is sudden cancellation of scheduled flight and also no alternate arranged..
Flight operators need to give a flight from chennai and give travel compensation to chennai also, if they cant fly and cancel at last day..
Cuts freebies, cut GST and cut income tax. Stop taking a dump on middle class.
We can't keep up with group employees on a pay roll for the airports with no operations .
Rural airports will only work in south of India as their purchasing power is higher . Northern rural people has no money.
Indian Economy is going to collapse, Thanks to BJP ..
😂 keep crying
India should develop airports as part of of a multimodal cargo hubs in industrial hubs. That's where the actual need is. There are many industrial towns faraway from ports, they are in the hinterland. By building multimodal logistics hubs that have air cargo facilities, railways and lorries, industries can transport their goods to ports, to other industrial hubs to feed into other companies products or export them directly to foreign countries.
Low income growth .
Jab kamai nahi hogi to kaun baithega plane pe.
REASON : HIGH GST and people's earning capacity ruined by the government. Less purchasing power.
Ultra low cost airline is the need of the hour like Ryan air and spirit airlines
All domestic flights here are low class enough(except vistara). Drop any further and you'd start geting cattle, paan eaters and chaiwalas in the aisles.

When I first visited China in the 1990s, airports were shitty as best, but I saw big, efficient roads and highways being built at breakneck speed, that's where resources went.
10 years later China's really impressive roads and highways were already taken for granted, and hordes of new airports were either in operation or being built, along with HSR and metro lines.
While these airports are still deserted.. our honourable aviation minister is planning to build 6 domestic cum commercial airports across andhra pradesh to just simply waste public money.. coz those areas where they have selected will not have any passenger movement frequently!!!
Air tickets costs somewhere around 10-12k on return tickets. To top it everything is taxed. Salaries have remained the same for a very long time. How will the consumers afford anything?
The Kannur International Airport has very vast international passenger movement. Unfortunately, the Indian Airport Authority did not grant it point-of-origin facility to operate international flights. But other Indian airports are empty, and the central government is playing dirty politics in the name of development to the detriment of Kerala.
