Watching this video made me feel like I was part of the construction work. Am proud of the work these guys put into this masterpiece structure. Engineering is a great skill on which the world works
Simple. Because the video is from the discovery channel networks. They own several different documentary channels. I remember watching it when it was on television. I live in upstate New York. I remember when it was being constructed.
After visiting some apartments in this tower, I was amazed to learn that the diagonals along the facade are not structural. They are paper-thin graphic strips that make the building look slimmer and cooler but have nothing to do with structure and take away from the views within. Of course, there are plenty of fat diagonal columns inside the building that are responsible for holding this tower in its place.

Amazing job to all of you guys!!!! Very difficult and challenging building to be constructed !! It's like dealing with a constant mind bending headache that needs to be continually figured out!! Respect and admiration !!
@@tonyjackson4099 yes, but sometimes it takes egregious and corrupt forms where, for instance, access to key plumbing and electrical and IT arteries is so restricted that it adds hours and many thousands of dollars of extra labor to even the simplest job to change some apartment's shut-off valve. So think you'd bought property (even if you were so wealthy as to do it with cash, no % to the bank) but you still keep paying maintenance and property tax - so you're just a patsy getting milked.

To be honest, every hour is rush hour in NYC. But yes, other times of day would have reduced some of the congestion. But then you have city regulations on working hours of job sites. Looking at the trucks, Ferrara Brothers, and then searching Google maps for that area, it looks like it came from what is now called SMR Concrete around the Flushing area. But just a stone's throw from the Queens Midtown Tunnel in LIC where they showed their trucks passing, is a different SMR Concrete facility that could get it to that site in less than half the time.
This tower will eventually be finished, and someone will rent out the luxury penthouse apartment with the "million-dollar views" only to sit on the couch and play with his smart phone.
I have seen other skyscrapers being built where they used the future elevator shaft as the place to situate the crane. Why didn't they just do that here? Something is missing from this story.
Wow...This is a TV show that aired on the Science Channel back in 2018 and not a creation of whoever runs this channel. Even though in the fine print within the bio, once you click expand, its lists it as being aired in 2018, but it tries to pass it off as an original creation without exactly stating it and letter the viewer assume it without any clarification. Even the narration is identical to the original show. Kinda shady, but I guess if they have legal rights to rebroadcast it then it is what it is.
