It cracks me up that I saw some comments saying that the games progressed to the point where caverns would be dead on arrival. Oh you poor fools it’s only gotten stronger.

Yeah idk why that was a thing. I made a terrible version of it that focused on fast quest completion pre-patch and I still managed to complete the quest by turn 4 on average. There's no way it wouldn't get faster post-patch
og quest rogue was super inconsistent. new quest rogue is pretty dang consistent. nuclear quest rogue if they ever revert prep nerf.

When news of Caverns below being unnerfed was first announced, I remember writing a comment saying, " I've been playing Hearthstone since Goblins and Gnomes and the one thing I learned is that you NEVER underestimate Caverns." Now it has taken over wild, I feel like doomsayer.
Turns out it was only because it was a new rotation. Just like every other overly hyped powerful deck is at the start of an expansion ends up being mediocre at best
Wax Elemental is also a good quest rogue card from back in the day.

One mana is a lot more than zero mana. I love my waxy bois too, but I could see it being too slow for Wild.

Big fan here. I was asking him about it until I had sharted live. Missed these games but this channel is the bees knee's for many different reasons. I hope rof keeps it up
I mean every game IS staged, but not how comments think. Roffle does a lot of work curating which games are shown, in what order, and editing then down to be fast and entertaining. Like, he's an entertainer, on the stage that is the Twitch / TH-cam platform, and I think he does a really good job.
He's commented on this in the past (the first game he shows tends to highlight what the deck can "pull off", regardless of when that happened chronologically in his stream). This, I'm sure, helps with his retention metrics. The faster editing, exciting games, etc. for the YT audience makes a lot of sense, and as a standard player who enjoys Wild-by-proxy, this is a great experience for me!
The fact that you're not running Recurring Villian for immortal minions makes me very, very sad.
Sadly its a case of "Why run an immortal minion when I can just kill my opponent"
If the meta was slower, would prob be a staple. But unfortunately, why pay 5 mana for an invincible minion when I can pay 2 to heal for massive amounts and clear a minion from my opponent most likely. There are just too many low cost minions to allow midrangey decks to have a staple. Aggressive decks just can’t be kept up with if you’re not going full value or full tempo.

I've been having a lot of fun with this deck. I've been running a reno variant with a higher win rate actually. 90 percent of the games you win you are going to win no matter when you complete the quest. completing it faster just means you win faster.
Lost to this deck a few minutes ago. Was a pretty close game though. So I wouldn't say its very oppresive. I was also playing a homebrew deck, not even a homebrew of a meta deck.
Good timing for this to pop back in my recommended, its back one more time.

I'm doing it and I'm facing random insta concedes. Though I've decided to run the very unreliable lackey variant and I can still somehow end games before turn 7 rofl.

Oi guys, I have a question: are your rewards bugged too?
I received the regular copy of Old Murk Eye as expected (even if I crafted it long a long time ago), and expected to receive Captain's Parrot too - which popped up as reward, but I can't find it anywhere in my collection (while second copy of Murk Eye was there...)
Any suggestions? Or it's a bug that Blizzard needs to fix first?

Pardon me if I'm missing something, but didn't you miss two 5/5 at 33:25 by not playing the Coaster first?
Upon seeing the title and thumbnail I think I got a small glimpse of what an actual PTSD looks like. And I haven't even played HS in years.
Quest unnerf is good for wild I think, but there’s nothing more frustrating than dying with big minions on board since your opponent won’t stop bouncing glacial shard.
Why the Zola instead of Tenwu? Tenwu is only 2 mana and bounces with a discount...
Zola makes a copy, meaning you keep a board presence. One problem with this deck (and partly why its not run) is because your losing all development by Shadowstepping minions for 2-3 turns

Anything agressive.
Mage secret with luck, you have to start, play the 2/1 to cast secret for (0), play a counterspell (then hope your opponent not playing coin 1st) : 2% chance it happens, but still the best chance to win vs this rogue quest...
Basically any aggro deck beats them
@@26_swords yes and control decks have 0% win rate against this bs. It's so polarising and toxic. Yes there are match-ups. And control usually beats aggro but aggro has at least a chance to win...

I know this is a month old but, would running Tenwu of the Red Smoke be a good idea? He's a bounce card and is only 2 mana, but might not flow as well compared to the other bounces idk. Just an idea that popped into my head.

it was broken when it was in standard but when it rotated i don't think it ever saw a meta play in wild

1/1s. Originally it was 5/5s, but there was a list in Wild that could get do some shenanigans with skaterbot and mech warper

Wild is a crazy place where the rules are made up and the points don’t matter, so if it works out it does. I still think the caverns below/the crystal core is the most poorly designed card in the game. I mean, that makes it fun to see at its full power but also aaaaaaaaaaa.

Blizzard surely want us to get away from wild because we sit on our large collection and we don't really need the new cards they design for standard. And standard is very expensive so they hope we will buy more packs.

Considering he is banking on completing the quest with freebooter (because he isnt running the ferryman or the other 2mana return a friendly minion to hand, i forget the name), i think he is simply running a list thats trying to be too fast and greedy. If you play this and you don't draw you freebooter then you aren't gonna complete the quest. Take this list with a grain of salt my man
Different card for a different idea. You run it if you're facing too much aggro. Otherwise, there are better cards to run.

Yall amateurs. I play singleton, secret, Crystal core rogue. Actually surprisingly decent. That being said I thought the murloc and boar were supposed to be losing charge. What happened to that?
They changed their mind. Instead of removing them from the game, the two rotated to Wild. In their place, Blizzard out the 2 mana 3/1 rush Murloc and 1 mana 2/1 rush beast in the core set as a replacement for Standard

I think you should not craft or play it at all, this deck will likely kill wild.
It's looking pretty likely to get nerfed. A lot of people don't realize how flexible it can be in terms of tech cards.
