This bread has been part of every Kapampangan's childhood. Before fast food restaurants made an influx to the province, this would be the typical treat for kids. The smell of it along with roasted garlic peanuts and floral notes of fresh sampaguita from the Cathedral (and, occassionally, horses) are basically the smell of downtown San Fernando.
Apung Gari bakeshop is what its called before, nostalgia overload! I remember back then, when i used to go with my Mom to the market my reward was 5 pcs of cheesebread lol
I tried LA Bakeshop cheese bread while I was returning from Clark to Manila. Although bit too sweet even for my sweet tooth, it was very tasty! One thing that I will miss from the Philippines.
I grew up in San Fernando. I remember going here with lola after church. We would then ride kalesa eating this cheesebread. Everytime i go home I'll make sure I'll stop by this bakeshop every bite reminds me of lola.
I grew up in San Fernando and for a time I wondered bakit hindi na same ung lasa ng cheesebread ng LA branches dun sa LA sa palengke until I read that LBS has the original recipe. The taste is so nostalgic. I remember 20 years ago, my mom would take me to Apung Gare for the pancit guisado and then we would buy cheesebread at LA before going home.
Lovely family, the Santiago siblings got their attitude from their parents, especially their father, very down to earth person. God bless you more Ate Lai and Ate Pei. Regards sa favorite kung tindera "Rizza". Cheers to the original!
I remembered when they opened LA bakery in San Fernando in 1985 I was in my first year high school... Every time my Mom goes to palengke sa madaling araw she always brings cheese bread and they have other bread there that looks like pandesal but doesn't taste like one it's better.
Our kuya used to buy us these after school during the late 80's, the cheese breads are still delicious though they used to be bigger back in the days. Casualty din siguro ng shrinkflation😅
Heto talaga una kinakaen ko pag umuuwi ako sa bahay namin sa pamp galing dito sa UAE, kinalakihan ko ung lasa na to na super the best na cheese bread. Good to know ng story nila.
before it was name lbs..it was apung gari before..their breads still the same and also the taste is one of the best old bakery in san fernando pampanga..thanks for documenting lbs bakeshop ♥️
Sabi ni ate partner nanay nya dati sa LA bakeshop tas humiwalay noong 2008, so im curious if same talaga cheesebread nila and spanish. Apung Gari sells breads and meryenda ever since i was little. I wonder if ngmerge ung 2 business.
The Videography is excellent. Kudos.
I just bought 1 box of cheesebread ang 1 box of Spanish bread and this is the quality of bread that was nostalgic to me as Kid . They were freshly baked not too sweet and the bread was proof longer. This is beyond better than the famous LA bakeshop. I will comeback for sure
That Cheese Bread would even go up another level when lightly shaken on top with granulated garlic powder served with filipino style spaghetti with hotdog or italian style spaghetti with a giant meatball. That's what I make here and serve 2 styles of spaghetti just to pleased everyone. Watching across the miles from Ontario, Canada.
I am from Apalit, naaalala ko dati b4 pumutok ang Mt Pinatubo plagi kami jan sa San Fernando ng Family ko kumakain. sakay ng Kalesa, Halo-halo sa Everybodys Cafe. And yang Cheese Bread😋
you guys really need to do an episode on the Vjandep Pastels of Camiguin. a beautiful sweet bread delicacy from a beautiful & often overlooked part of the country...
I’m from San Fernando, Pampanga and have tried both the LBS & LA cheesebread. And yet I can’t remember the last time I bought the latter. LBS is not too sweet and still soft even after a few days.
I've been hearing about them whenever I was in my province, Tarlac!!! and omg their cheesebread looks soooo good!
LA and LBS used to be partners under the LA brand. After their partnership expired, LBS bought Apung Gari's stall and continued baking the recipes. Watch the video.
We went here to buy some cheese breads. Newly baked batches of around 20 boxes are gone in around 15 mins. And with this video, that might be down to just 8 mins now. 😢

What a fun and nostalgic moment! Thank you for sharing. We're glad this brings back good memories.

This is my favorite bread since I was a kid, whenever I go back home for a holiday, this is one of the food I'm craving to have.

For those unfamiliar.. it sounded like u r talking abt San Fernando in LA California
LA’s is a different bakery from LBS
Our kuya used to buy us these after school during the late 80's, the cheese breads are still delicious though they used to be bigger back in the days. Casualty din siguro ng shrinkflation😅
LA is the best
Everytime I go to downtown san fernando, I always grab the opportunity to eat cheese bread from this store😅. #ProudKapampanganHere
Heto talaga una kinakaen ko pag umuuwi ako sa bahay namin sa pamp galing dito sa UAE, kinalakihan ko ung lasa na to na super the best na cheese bread. Good to know ng story nila.

Ganda ni ma'am!!! Beautiful bake shop lady, inspiring!
was so invested watching this and suddenly that 4:46 - 4:47 timestamp sound shookt me hahahha😅 (using headphones)
May pa-moan 😅
Yes heard it too haha 😂
Grabe pasada pa gamit. Sige lang one day, magkaka bakery din.
From the looks of it, may Mozzarella yung streusels kaya masarap.
The Videography is excellent. Kudos.
Proud kapampangan here! Love it! As always awesome job erwan and crew! God bless you!
Thank you very much!
Thank you, FEATR. I’m from Pampanga and I didn’t know about the history of that place. Kaya pala nung kumain ako dyan ang sarap.

I am from Apalit, naaalala ko dati b4 pumutok ang Mt Pinatubo plagi kami jan sa San Fernando ng Family ko kumakain. sakay ng Kalesa, Halo-halo sa Everybodys Cafe. And yang Cheese Bread😋

One bread, one bite, sobrang satisfying ❤
Your visit to San Fernando wouldn't be complete without taking home this special cheesebread. ❤️❤️
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸. Cheese breads look delicious. Mabuhay🇵🇭

I’m from San Fernando, Pampanga and have tried both the LBS & LA cheesebread. And yet I can’t remember the last time I bought the latter. LBS is not too sweet and still soft even after a few days.
My kids & i love their cheesebread, same with the spanish bread.😋😋
This bakeshop looks very nice. Lots of stuff. Thanks for the video.
Perfect partner sa kanilang napakasarap na palabok 😍
Throwback memory non mag bata pa kami!
I remember back then sa umaga fresh pandesal at kesong puti the best!!!!

Apung gari is my family’s go-to kainan after going to the palengke. Ginegatekeep ko lang ito before, hopefully they don’t increase the price.
Omg I used to bring three boxes of cheese breeds when I come visit the Philippines!
I've been hearing about them whenever I was in my province, Tarlac!!! and omg their cheesebread looks soooo good!
This is the bakery I always go after school.
LA is the original and the best Cheese bread, kahit tag 10 pesos per pc/bite people still buying it.
Masarap pag newly baked, pero pag lumamig na, especially after a day, ang tigas at dry nya na, LBS kahit kinabukasan soft padin plus not too sweet
LA and LBS used to be partners under the LA brand. After their partnership expired, LBS bought Apung Gari's stall and continued baking the recipes. Watch the video.
@@katnissevergreen3191lbs is better. Mas hype lang si LA
they were partners so both are originnal
this was my classmate's go to pasalubong for me 😭 i miss it so much my god i want it now!!! it's even tastier if its heated or toasted!!
Nostalgia!
Apung Gari♥️
Been living in San Fernando City for 3yrs and their shop is just 3km away from upon checking with grab but never heard of them. Gotta order now.
The best💙🥰
Basta Kapampangan, manyaman!
I❤LA Bakeshop ❤️❤️❤️
😂😂 direct competitor ang pinuri
Wag kana magkumpara!
Have you interviewed any of the workers? They’re important too. Without them, who makes all the bread?
Workers come and go
it helps that you are also located to an iconic location, Apung Gary. the Place of great pandesal and pandesito.
I'm so hungry now :((( miss The Ph.
There are actually two additional branches here in Guagua, Pampanga 💙
Our family go to cheese bread is LA bakeshop ❤
I miss my hometown 😢
Sarap naman. Nakakgutom 😅❤
Are you planning to remake the cheese bread? Please para kaming mga ofw will be able to enjoy the cheesebread. Thank you.
There's a weird noise in the background if you listen carefully between 4:46-4:47 mark.
The best sweet longganisa also.
Kapampangan
Namiss ko kayo FEATR 😭😭
LBS Number 1🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
That does look delicious
basta miryenda dito agad kme umoorder using grab, for best experience though: kainin agad dahil ang tigas na nya pag lumamig or medyo tumagal na
cheese bread ❤❤❤
Nakakalima ako neto parati haha
Like the Blue color BOX , ala TIFFANY of NY !,
ANG SHARAPPP
Manyaman 🥰
That made me hungry.
Both, but it depend on your taste
We went here to buy some cheese breads. Newly baked batches of around 20 boxes are gone in around 15 mins. And with this video, that might be down to just 8 mins now. 😢
mas masarap kaya pag gumamit sila ng butter instead of margarine?
LA and LBS are now rivals. I prefer LBS. More homey
Must be GOOD 😋😋😋
Same taste ba sila ni LA?
You know you're getting older when you recognize its former name, LA Bakeshop.
so this is the OG and LA bakeshop is the copy?
I remember during my high school day, one cheese bread only cost 2 pesos and they’re way bigger back then
Bstat pamangan Kapampangan, MANYAMAN!!!!!
