My wife’s grandma had lemon and orange trees in her garden. Unfortunately she died and the house was sold. I saved some oranges and lemon seeds and have used this technique to grow them. Your videos are amazing. Thank you so much…..
That’s exactly why I’m here. My grandpa just passed away last night (grandma passed away a few years back) so the house will be sold. I want a little piece of them by having the trees they cared for for over 50 years❤
Me and my grandma did a little project, we sliced a lemon in half, and put the seeds in one of those plastic cups that you get flowers in, about a week or two later 2/5 seeds came up so it was really fun
I've been searching for anyone giving tips for lemon trees who is also based in the UK! Your video works 100% for me (yeah, the same climate!!) Thank you so much for your videos. Really helpful!
Considering here in Mexico we don't have lemons, only limes and buying them at the supermarket(imported from California), I got me some seeds and they've come up, 3 baby lemon trees with their first leaves, and hopefully planting soon in the ground, thanks to you for your sage advice and tips on how to care for 'em! :)
I’ve put my lemon seeds in airing cupboard last week with toilet roll and cling film and they have germinated!!! Thank you so much. Now I have to pot them up along with chilli seedlings, avocado pips (roots coming through. Got 4 on the go). Thanks to you showing us how it’s done a very easy way. The weather in Manchester has been fantastic so off to a good start. Keep up the good work👍🏻🌸
I have done this way a week ago, and I have seeds sprouting already! Can't wait , then I can plant the seeds in there own pots and watch them grow. Planting some for someone else also, we love our plants. Thanks for giving us this video, helps a lot of others who want to grow lemon seeds. I still have 4 more lemons to cut up and eat, and get the seeds from
I've got the worst gardening skills but I did it, I did it....!!! You gave wonderful instructions and I have 4 or more little lemon trees sprouting in my kitchen window.
Frankly, most of gardening videos are made like run of the mill generic "informative" videos. Many of people that produce these videos does not have any actual gardening experience. You can tell by how many things they skip just because they don't know it. I bet they are using images from some paid image depot website. They are doing it for money. Glad to see there are good informative and passionate channels around though.
This Is Probably The Best, Channel for Beginning/Inspired Gardeners, like myself. Today I Planted Cucumbers, Since My Brother Some Store-Bought Seeds. I Planted Them, And Hopefully They Grow, Because You Have LOTS of Information about Taking Care of Cucumbers. Hopefully, With Your Trusty Tips/Info They Grow Into Fresh, Delicious Cucumbers! (By The Way, I Subbed Because It Was Just Worth It!)
Hi, I tried your method and it works. My seeds are growing. Thanks. I am going to plant them at school today. We have gardening project at school. I am pretty sure the kids will be excited to know they have lemon tree when they know they will have lemon tree 😀😀😀
I literally only watch video game gameplays and reviews, anime, and the like on TH-cam. I have no idea how I got here or why TH-cam would recommend this video but now I went out, got myself a pot and a lemon and tried this. I have so many questions as a newbie such as how much watering and when, when does fruit begin to show, etc. Great video!
Indeed 100% success rate! I packed in 13 seeds just to be sure, and they have all now after more than one week though, got several cm of sprouts. Some have one, some more and the lengths are different. One tiny dwarf seed just started to sprout. Nature is wonderful. Thank you so much for you videos!
I love your videos. I just started gardening seriously and you have so many projects I can involve my 6 year old sun with. It’s so cool watching you take fruits we usually would throw in the trash after eating and you show us how to turn them into more plants. You are so awesome and I’m definitely subscribing and sharing
Thanks! I thought for sure that I'd dig into the embryo but that didn't happen and the shells came off no problem!! I NEVER KNEW you could do this! Years ago I'd plant them after soaking them in water or a weak tea solution to soften the shell but I LOVE this method better! :-) Thanks for the tips! I already have an 18-year old navel orange tree here. Have NO IDEA where I'll go with these, along with the mangos and avocado seeds I started the other day ! LOL! Using a zip-lock baggie for the lemon seeds and have it sitting on top of a seedling heat mat to help it stay warm for faster seed germination.
The thing now is where WILL I go with all these growing beauties? I recently purchased a pomagranite fruite and want to try germinating them as well. I saw how that was done on a youtube channel and it's real easy to grow! Have to try them too! Not sure if you ever did a video on it but that would be a good thing to show! Thanks Lee! ;-)
This was so cool. My friend is in her 70's who grows lemons on her 5yr. old Meyers Lemon tree. Each x-mas she blesses me with a dozen. This year made lemon jam and lemon wine for her gift and now. I will include a couple of baby trees too! Enjoy your vids! Aloha Mahalo and God Bless you
Great videos, clear and precise. My lemon seeds are in kitchen roll and my garlic cloves in a cup of water, my peppers and chilies have just started to produce their first leaves. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Here's a challenge for you. As you seem to grow everything I like I'm sure you would be interested in trying to grow a cardamom plant. I'm going to try it like you did these lemons but would be interested in your opinion.
I recently got into planting things. Not sure how long it'll last but in the meantime, I'm trying to learn as much as I can while trying to grow new things. Thank you for this video! I have one lemon seed I planted yesterday, which, after watching this video, I think i will be taking back out and following your directions. Hopefully, it'll still work. If not, I have another lemon I can play with! haha
I got some lemon seeds to sprout using this method! I can see little green buds coming out of the seeds after 8 days in a dark, warm cupboard next to my dishwasher. Thank you so much for these wonderful and informative videos!
I peeled the lemon seeds. Thought I would never figure it out, lol. I used a sharp knife and skimmed the ridge. So now I'm on a quest to try the rest of the steps. Fingers crossed cause plants seem to darken and wilt around me. Thank you for the simple steps on the video.
Thanks for the super easy tutorial. I've just peeled and put three seeds away in a cupboard. Have my fingers crossed that in a week I will see little sprouties 😊🤞
THANKS SO MUCH!! GREAT INFO on how to grow it from a seed!! Super glad to know the reason of lemon plant leaves turning yellow!! I was facing this issue and happy to know how to fix this!!
When I potted my seeds, I used a cracked top egg shell with a hole poked in the bottom as the starter pots. When the plants are big enough to re-pot, just squish the egg shell in your hand and plant them in the new pot with a citrus mix soil. They will get extra nutrients from the egg shell and it promotes faster growth.
Subscribed. I just found your channel today and I'm excited to try growing some of these plants in containers. I have lots of unused planters and I started gardening over 2 months ago. Mostly to beautify the balcony. And now because of your videos, I think I'm going to start planting fruits and veggies for real and not procrastinate. Thank you! :D P.S. You have a nice smile. [Am I right girls?] Hahaha!
That's great! I'm trying to do as many videos as I can for people who have Balcony or small places. I'm glad they help you. Thanks for the smile comment :D
No worries. Hahaha! And yes, please do because I really want to grow plants in here as much as possible. I appreciate the short introduction too. That's one of the reasons why I subscribed. Short and concise, for a change.
Whoa! I planted my seeds and they are going great! I wanted to know as I am starting them at the beginning of summer is it okay to put them outside because you said the leaves can burn off? Is that only happening with the plasic around it? I am new to gardening but I am really enjoying it thank you for all your amazing videos!
Nice to hear an English voice which gives me a bit of hope that I might be able to grow a lemon (as opposed to being one so often). I have five seeds growing and wonder if I will ever have lemons or just leaves as I live in the north east. Thanks for your video sir
Just planted key lime and meyer lemon seedlings under a grow light! I left them in the bag with the damp paper towel for much longer than you did, so I could make sure the roots were as strong as possible before I had to pot them. One of the key limes has already sprouted and I'm gonna start the light cycles in a day or two.
Ohhhh yes that's the trick, I need to peel the hard skin of the lemon seeds. I believe 100% this will work for me. Will make a vlog about it too. Hope you check it out. 😊
Huge WOW WOW, had no idea, will try this this week. I would love lots of citrus trees, I live in Palm Springs, just started watching your vids, brilliant, and I joined your FB page, you are just so great at instruction and I thank you. Stay safe
Hey! Nice to hear about your passion :) I used to plant everything I could since I was little also :D Now I'm trying to get my green thumb to the next level, growing citrus inside and making bonsai from some of my seedlings.

I also have two orange plants grown using the same method. They are growing well. By the way I put the moisturized paper-towel with seeds, in a box. So I don't think that we really have to remove air pockets in it :)
I so want to get a lemon and lime plant growing, I plan to keep it in pots for indoors to use the leaves for flavoring, thank you for wonderful video and information:)
Thanks for the vid. Now I'm really tempted to grow a lemon tree :) I live in the UK. Once it gets to that height do you plant them outside or just leave them to grow indoors on the windowsill?
Hello sir! Out of all the gardening tutorial channels, u might be the best one. I do have a question, u plant some seeds in soil for germination, yet with the lemon seed u go for the paper towel technique, any reason for that?
Man I really still do appreciate your videos they never age in terms of use and will always be useful no matter the year.
I love how he always smiles in the beginning of all his vids
I just stumbled across his channel...his smile caught me off guard, but I realized I was smiling back...LOL

Watttt..I would have a lemon orchard if I live in there. I live in zone 6a and our growing season is too short and what we can plant is very limited
How come Mexico don't have lemon trees? You have the perfect weather for citrus trees

Thanks for the info. If you let your seed dry for about 30 minutes the are way easier to grasp and peel! Cheers from San Diego, California!
I found that doing it while the seed coating is still damp it's less likely for the seed to break
