Hi Umair. You'll be paying the first installment and any student fee applicable. In most cases student fee for a whole year goes in a single installment but you'll get the exact condition of it once you receive an offer letter from the university. Hey Charles. It's totally upto you. If the university has provided a link to reach out directly to your desired supervisor, you can reach out there. But it is also a great idea to reach out to them from other modes as well, even if you've reached out through the form. Establish a connection with them, show your research work, show how their work is intriguing to you. And this should ideally be done a long time before you apply for a program. That gives you ample of time to establish a relationship and probably could help when your application reaches them. So, make a plan as to how you'll reach out to the professor soon and work upon it. Hey Mansi! It's actually a very common question among the aspirants! The thing is these universities, unlike India, look at the profile holistically. That means, what things other than academics sets you apart from other applicants. This could include getting involved in research, this is one of the points that could give you a lead over the others. Try going for a couple of them, probably one could be in a Scopus journal and another at a conference. If you can get an SCI journal, nothing's better than that! Apart from this, you can tell about your hobbies which could somehow relate to the field. You can also show volunteer experience, that is really admired at least in North American universities. Although in most cases that should be enough to get a decent admit without work experience but if you can wait and work for like a couple years your profile will be much stronger. Just make sure to explore as many things as possible during the bachelor years, you can tell all about your experiences through SOP which will set you apart! Just be open to any new and weird opportunities that come your way, you can always mould that into your application! Hope this helps. All the universities that are currently on this channel for data science/AI have taught and research computer science masters. To contact supervisor, it is always wise to contact them early through their official mail id which you can easily find on the university's website. Try reaching them like a year before the target year (ideally), introduce them to your research and do your homework on their research as well. Continue contacting them regarding research periodically and show you're really interested in their research domain and would like to pursue a master's under their supervision. That way you'll have a strong bond before asking them to supervise you. The other way is reaching them out on LinkedIn but most professors either don't use it at all or seldom use and reply to messages, but you can always try. If you're short on deadline, you can send a single mail, stating your research work and discussing a couple of their research work preferably in the same domain. In that mail, you should write how their research intrigues you and why you would like to pursue a master's undet their supervision, kind of like an SoP but targetted towards the specific professor and domain you're willing to work in. We think there's no option to give preference. However, if you are willing to apply for 2 different courses, you will have to send 2 different applications. Also, we aren't aware if UBC gives admission decision on a rolling basis or not. If that's not the case, then you'll have to apply to both course options at the same time.

Most probably, yes. Because while applying you'll be asked for a single preference, so you'll only be able to fill a single type in that application. But on a personal note, we'd suggest not to apply for 2 options separately. If one of your application gets rejected, it's highly likely that your second one too, could get rejected, either because of seemingly duplicate application and/or on same grounds your previous application would be rejected. Because the evaluation criteria for all options will be same and all of the selected from these 3 options will be sharing the classes.

That's a very good profile Vignesh! Concordia is indeed a very competitive university in Canada. So with this you can be sure that your profile is really strong. For top ones like McGill or Toronto, I'd suggest if you can write GRE because that'll set you further apart from the others. As far as UK is concerned you won't need GRE at all. And UK is much less stringent mostly because of the changes in international policies and stuff. So you'll have a nice profile to land a great university either in Canada or the UK alike. I'd also suggest if you write a research article in the meanwhile. Good luck for your application!✌️
Well, that is something which no one knows with utmost surety unless the university website specify explicitly. Most of the universities don't state that you should belong to tier-1 university to get an admission but some universities give a little relaxation on the minimum GPA requirement instead. Regardless, none of the university denies admission based on the previous university. But to an extent, your undergraduate university does matter in the selection process but you might not know about it at all! Think of this as a point-based system, a graduate from IIT Delhi might get 100 points for previous academic background while a graduate with same degree from Amity University might get 40 points (no offense, these are just assumptions) and still might end up having more points due to other factors and get the place instead of IIT-D guy. Hope you get some idea from this.

Well, you have started to think early and that's a good sign! There are a lot of things you can do to make your profile better. Firstly, try to maintain a really good CGPA as Canadian universities focus a lot of academics. You should also try to get into research and publish maybe a couple of international conference papers. If you can get a journal publication in Scopus or SCI, that's even better! Try to complete as many relevant projects as possible during these years. Do a couple internships which can let you work on real-world applications. Not only this, you can pursue some extra-curricular activities which are admired a lot by Canadian and American universities. Try some volunteering. Ultimately, what we mean to say is be open to any kind of opportunities that may come across you, be it public speaking, be it volunteering or anything. The key is being proactive. Once you become proactive, all the things will come to shape eventually and you'll have a great overall profile to compete with the likes of tier-1 graduates. Good luck!👍
Hi Vaibhav. Not really. GRE is important in places where they explicitly ask you to submit the score or write "is not required but desirable" or something of that sort. In all other cases GRE doesn't make much of a difference.
Hey Shraddha. There's no different application procedure for the essay option. You'll have the opportunity to choose the desired option of the 3 in the online application form.
That shouldn't be an issue! Don't stress on it too much. The online application forms for most of the universities these days are pretty intuitive and give a natural flow. So, you'll definitely have the option somewhere in the online application phase. Since we haven't gone through the application form, we don't exactly know what page will it be on. But again, don't stress it out too much, the form is bound to ask you the priorities. This is not a paper-based application! :)
Hey. If your program is NAAC accredited or your institution is an "Institute of National Importance", then you do not need to worry. Also if your conversion from CGPA to percentage uses x10, then you have the required percentage too. Just check if your program was NAAC accredited or the institute was an "Institute of National Importance" while you were studying.
Hi Jazhan. It refers to education, nothing to do with PR! :) In every university, every subject is given a kind of weightage which is called "credit". It basically gives you an idea in what depth you studied a certain domain/subject.

Well, the prerequisite is indeed based on credits. The university needs to know whether you have studied a particular topic in such a depth that you could pursue their course. So most universities ask for a certain number of credits being studied in the related domain, in this case, it would be computer science. Data Science course is expensive because it is a professional course, more like an MBA, whereas MSc. in Computer Science is a research-based course hence cheaper. Irrespective of the course you choose, UBC is in world's top 50 universities, so not only Canada, you can literally work anywhere in the world with that degree! ;)

Hi Zaid. NAAC is actually for programs and not a university as a whole. Not sure, if your department has gotten it but recently some departments of PTU have received the NAAC Grade 'B' recently. But not certainly an 'A' grade. :(
I think the requirement is for a first class degree which corresponds to a CGPA of 8 in this case. So, unfortunately, you might not be eligible for this course. You might want to try out other courses in Canada which have a less stricter requirement. Good luck!👍
Hello ma'am! Nice to know you want to go back to studying! Well, as a matter of fact, having experience is always a plus for any university. People with 5-6 years experience frequently go for a master's but with 13 years of experience you ace them all. Honestly, if I was in your place, I would have gone for a management degree rather than a technical one. The reason being: a technical degree helps boost the careers of people with lesser experience. With 13 years, corporate would expect you to manage people while having strong technical skills. So, a management degree, in your case, would give you a much better career boost as opposed to a technical degree. But it's totally upto you and you do have a strong chance of getting into this course, just that you'll have to explain efficiently in your SOP as to why do you want to come back to study a technical degree after this much of experience. Hey. The 3-credit essay option is their course based option only. There won't be a project as such but you'll have to write a report worth 3 credits which could be a project report.
Hey. You might need to resit the IELTS test :( As far as CGPA is concerned, you might need to convert your GPA to an equivalent 10-scale or percentage to know if that suffice.
