have two ones along with Sonos Arc and Sonos mini sub. For me, this configuration is great, as the sound quality is very good. I think it only makes sense to replace my Sonos One's if I'm going to purchase the Era 300, because between the era100 and One, the sound quality is very identical, perhaps it's only possible to see the difference if you put the two working side by side, but in real world it's not worth the upgrade, unless you don't have the Sonos one, in which case I'd buy the Sonos era 100.

🎉I have a home theater Projector setup I've been trying to figure out & landed here after searching for hours searching how I could send my projector's bluetooth audio over to my Sonos Ones (stereo pair). I tried looking up "airplay transmitters", dongles, cables, bluetooth>airplay converters.. and finally got warmer when I learned that the $180 Sonos Roam could pass bluetooth audio onto an existing Sonos network independently of something like Spotify Connect / having to go through an iPhone/tablet. Now I've just watched your video and I'm sold- while getting a Roam would be a pretty expensive bluetooth>airplay gateway, getting a single $250 Sonos Era 100 is the better buy - so I'll eventually replace my Sonos One pair with the Era 100's, and in the meanwhile - it can be a third wheel in my home theater setup (*so I can pass Projector bluetooth audio to the Era100)
And bc you can only form a stereo pair with the same model - only 2 sonos ones can form a stereo pair, only 2 era 100's can form a pair, can't mix and match. And 2 Era100's at this moment is more than I can budget for.
Hope this helps anybody else who has a home theater / projector setup! Hard to find a solution to this on the internet - cuz almost no projectors have airplay by default!

I've had a sonos beam since it came out and its been exceptional! I'm finally going to get a pair of the rears for surround sound. Did you buy either of these?

Thanks for the video. I just got 2 Sonos One’s for $220 in Excellent condition from eBay. I don’t like the cable thing. They could have easily put an Ethernet and Line In on the Era 100.

The big question is: If I have several sonos one sl and I want to add some more speakers to my system, do I get era 100s or more ones? I can get a very good deal on 2 sonos ones, both for 2/3 of the price of one era 100. I do think the sound is good enough in my ones, and I'm worried it will differ too much if I start adding different speakers. Thoughts?

I have two Sonos One SLs (with Beam+Sub Gen 3) and four Symfonisk bookshelf speakers (two stand alone, two with Beam+Sub Gen 3). The Symfonisk speakers are extremely close to the One SLs in sound quality for a much cheaper price. The advantage with the One SLs or Era 100 is they look a little better, easier to place because of their small footprint, and Trueplay with the built-in mic. I will probably stick with my current speakers until Sonos stop supporting them.

I‘m selling my 6 ones right now - updating them with stereopairs of era 100 and 300. In future it‘ll be more difficult to sell them, I guess…

Fyi, the Sonos One also has forwards and backwards functionality by swiping right or left across all three touch buttons. The discrete buttons of the Era 100 is better, of course, but still...
