Thank you for your helpful info on this easy fix. I believe this will take care of my heating issues as it’s what was needed on my 2001 prior to this ‘07 and the thermostat replacement worked in that one. I didn’t research it and ended up paying someone else to do the work which was a LOT more money…
It wasn’t until a coworker suggested I check the thermostat that I made the connection that I’m mixing up cars again.
Hopefully, weather-permitting; I’ll get this changed out soon.

I have an 07 Taurus and that's the first thing I've heard when I asked about the issues I having

The heater doesn't get warm on my car and someone suggested the thermostat. Think it might help?

Could be that, or low on coolant, or blend door not moving.

I can't hear the door shutting when I quickly turn the cold-to-warm knob. If I did do the thermostat, what degree would be best? BTW - the engine temp. guage has never, ever gotten to halfway, even in summer. But I don't use air conditioning. Thanks!@@KorysRides

@@dbdouglas I think the ones that are generally available are a 190 or a 197. The higher temperature one will be better in cold climates. Just make sure you put it in the right direction

Blend door works. If I do the thermostat, does the coolant need to be drained first? Or just keep the cover of the reservoir on? Thanks.@@KorysRides

QUESTION BUT I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY THE YEAR I KNOW SHE HAS THAT MANUFACTURING UNDER THE HOOD....SOO WHAT CAN WE DO IF THE PART YOU POUR THE MIX IN IS FLOWING OUT YET WAS CHANGED 3×S WHERE'S THE ACTUAL ISSUE WHERE THE COOLANT GOES❓❓I THINK IT'S A 2 IN 1 QUESTIONS NOW😅

@@Nicholas-Nick-w so to clarify, you are pouring coolant into the overflow tank on the passenger side of the vehicle, the coolant is going somewhere, and you don't know where it is going? Could be a few things. If it's draining onto the ground, there's a hose that leads out of that clear plastic reservoir that could have come off. You might have a leaking hose or the drain on the bottom of the radiator might be open. If the coolant isn't draining onto the ground, it's going into the engine. Before you panic, If you are really low on coolant, it might take a couple gallons before the radiator and cooling system is filled. If you still can't figure out where the coolant is going, check the engine oil. If it looks milky, you may as well throw that engine away. If you have white smoke coming out of the exhaust or if it won't crank over, it's leaking into the cylinder. If you try and crank the engine over and it suddenly stops, don't do anything else because you can't compress liquid. You have to pull the spark plugs out and crank it over until all the fluid is out, then you can try to start it but it means you have a bad head gasket.

A macro view of the engine would help to identify the location you were referring to. I still don't know where the thermostat is.

Did you not watch the first 15 seconds of the video? The thermostat is in the thermostat housing which I point to.

If you can’t identify where it is from this video then diy mechanics is not for you.
