What To Do After You've Quit Scrolling (Stay Away From Social Media For Good)
ฝัง

- Here's what you should be doing once you've quit social media. A good place to start is to fill up most of your day with habits that are undoubtably good. Once you've got that down and have gotten rid of your old habits, it's time to build your purpose. Finding and building purpose can be be very difficult. It requires you to look deep into yourself to see what your life needs and what you are naturally drawn towards. What would you do if money didn't exist and you didn't have to earn anything? What is the thing that you naturally find fun, fulfilling, and enjoyable? What would you still find yourself doing, even if it didn't make you any money? Ask yourself those questions and see where you find yourself. It may take a while for you to find an answer to those questions, so stay on the right path and keep looking for your purpose.

I was amazed when my class laughed when I told my teacher “I am ashamed I don’t read as much as I should.”
I was raised to think reading is bare minimum, and it is insane people don’t think that.
Even as a teen girl, your channel helps me think about the things I wanna change in my life. I want to write in my journal more often, read more often and also learn a new language! These are my current goals and I will do my very best to achieve those in 2024. Happy New year to you :)
r u single

Hello! I’m a teen girl too and you seem like a great person. Can we be friends?
@@Ben-hz7cpoml
The problem with me is, I’ve been so ambitious to the point that there are way too many things I’m currently trying to “balance” - Ice skating, volleyball, tennis, swimming etc. I love doing all of these things but I’ve also always been into drawing and writing, so inherently, like you. I know these two things are my purpose, but I also don’t want to quit the other things I’ve built up on..
don’t feel forced to do it,i know it’s hard but do what you like more.it’s more easy said than done but learn to let go of things.i am sure you worked hard with volleyball, ice skating and tennis but if you never try than you will never now.give it a try remember life is not that serious you still have the skills i’m sure you will find a solution good luck XD
If you know that writing and drawing are what you care about the most and that one of them is your purpose, go all in on it. Imagine you have to circles that represent your energy. One of the circles has 20 or 30 arrows going out of it. Each of these arrows represent the things you do. For you its ice skating, volleyball, tennis, and other things. The second circle only has a few arrows. This one represents your life if you removed everything else and just focused on the few things you care about the most. For example, drawing and writing, family, and health/fitness. These few arrows go out so much farther than all of the arrows from the first circle I mentioned. When your energy is stretched thin, you make mediocre progress in everything (at most). When you focus on a few things and sacrifice everything else, you will start to see progress like you have never seen before.
@@MaxwellRhoe Thank you for taking your time to reply to me! I’ll try taking your advice and lessen my extracurriculars, honestly it’s been a long time coming anyway, I’ve been folding under the pressure lately.
I think it's also OK to have many different interests, and to be just, at least for the moment, mediocore in it, as long as you are happy with it. And isn't it a privilege, that you have so many interests in different things? I assume you are still young and have the most of your lifetime ahead of you (as I am and do). So, dont stess yourself, enjoy the things that you love to do, and with time some things will change anyway. Because you get in a relationship, or brake up. Because you or people in your surroundings move to other places. Because you start a family. Because ther are changes in your job situation. Because your getting older, and so on. Some things will get boring and some other things more intereseting, so that the priorities will change automatically. So when the time has come, it's about to let go and focus on the things that are the most important. I hope that maybe helped a little bit.
hi maxwell i used to be an insecure, shy, addicted kid. but because of you, you helped me SO MUCH to at least battle them. and for that thank you man, truly. huge fan of your vids! KEEP IT UP!!!!!
Underrated life advice = negative thoughts either kill u or make u way stronger then you could ever think
How old is this guy? Very happy and impressed to see people his age talking about this.
it’s pretty normal that kids these days (12-16 years olds) know and talk and to those things , i met a few and it’s not really uncommon because of social media
U got me at the "purpose" part not gonna lie. Right now I'm a computer science student, but I never imagined myself doing this to be honest, and although I'm only in the first year, I'm sure it's not something I would genuinely like to do and it's far from something I always dreamed. However, it is what will provide me with a more stable and peaceful life.
The problem is that since I knew what a career was, I always said I wanted to be a veterinarian. I only had animal toys, I pet any animal on the street (even if they have bitten me before), I can't explain the connection I have always felt for animals. For me they are the purest creatures on the planet and the feeling of taking care of them is inexplicable. However at least in my country, sometimes the salary of a vet is half the salary odlf a programmer and I am afraid i will not be able to separate my feelings from work when I get home. I'm truly lost, like I've never been before.
Chase your dreams and the money will follow you. Chase the money, and you'll be disappointed. That is something my friends dad (who is a multimillionaire) told me when I was stuck as well. It is what had me pursue psychology instead of business, despite knowing business would bring more opportunities.
A quote I heard recently from a TH-camr, can't remember their name, said "what would you do with your life if you knew you couldn't fail?"
Do you eat meat? If so, maybe a way to support animals would be to become vegan. You could rescue a pet. You could help in some other way. There are many highly efficient and practical ways to work on something meaningful without having to go all in on it. But I reckon if you're already doing some of the things I've mentioned or helping in another way and you are really sure this is your thing, then go for it.
You have time for many careers, don’t worry. Be a Tech guy in your 20’s, retrain later as a financially secure student.
video quality getting better and better bro. the zooms, overlays, broll, sound effects and captions look amazing
Great vid man! The quality has just climbing up and up. It’s great to see other people in our generation also passionate about self development. Can’t wait for the future videos
damn bro like you understand how people feel exactly the way other do...... when you get on social media you feel aware but after just a second you get out of it you immediately feel FOMO and dont know what to do and its just your willpower vs your subconscious mind..........i left social media for 1 month and again downloaded and i feel more aware of my body and what i'm doing but still having the craving to check social media it really never gets away.
Thank you a lot, I've been missing my "purpose" for 17 years of my life now, and I look forward to start actually looking for it and digging deep into my mind. You got a new subscriber, I know you'll reach 1 million one day!
I like your input, I've started doing a gratitude journal in the evening and have never seen my mind in such a positive perspective. I'm getting somewhere slowly. Thanks for making these videos. Keep it up, my guy.
Thank you!
You really helped me brother, since a while I have been starting to think for my own and knowing my responsibilities. Starting to evolve!❤️🔥
maxwell, your channel has been motivation for me to start my own, thank you so much 🙏🏽
Those last few minutes got me motivated to write in my journal... I still haven't found my purpose. And the habit tracker is a good idea. I need to get on that.
I am a mid 30s woman .. and cant appreciate it enough that you value things like walking and running .. you are absolutely right ...and you are definitely on the right path ..evil eyes off ..lots of prayers and wishes
Amazing video as always , im 100% sure this’ll help the right ppl who want / need advice
I have been journaling ever since i was 10 (or should I say diary?) and I am very grateful for myself to have done that. I recommend everyone to do that. Ofc i don't journal EVRY DAY because it would seem like a chore...
I have a hard time finding what to write
Awesome videos so far. This really shows that many of us don't have many real hobbies, goals or direction. So great video
I don’t want to quit forever I want to have enough discipline and indulge once in a while and not let it take over my life
this guy is honestly so underrated
fr, but that kinda makes us like this separate community of people who want to become better, it's kinda like we're the chosen special ones lmao
In my opinion the sense of purpose is not in a single objective, it is actually in everything we do and experience, it can include being scientists, programmers, entrepreneurs, philosophers, travelers. The simple fact of living and doing things that we like to do or trying new things is what fills you with fulfillment, but it seems to me that being accompanied by good people is what gives us a plus.
You’re completely right! I don’t think a person has a purpose, the little things in life are the things that “fill” or “make” your purpose
Yo this video motivated me so much right now to do all these things after already scrolling less and starting to go to the gym and meditating. Maybe you can release your own habit tracker or something like that
This guy is so powerful ❤
When u said about your goal for hitting 1m, I decided to subscribe. How could I not, this video is amazing! I love when people show me the things I always thought about and these become just crystal clear "Yeah I was right" "So this is how I do it"
Thanks❤
What helped me from stop scroling is my dream, drawing like a profesional, and twitch, twitch has helped me to start liking content that is hours long, and also stop scroling to see my favorite streamer
you should make a guide on how to elevate how to speak/articulate better, because I personally think you are one of the bests speakers I have heard so that would be really nice.
Everyone needs to have a list of go-to activities for non-scrolly time
Thank you so much Maxwell, your videos helps me so much in life. I will never back down and try learning the guitar and practice volleyball. Also read my bible and books more daily🙏
keep it up with the bible my brother. Don't forget to pray as well. God bless you.
you got me with the browser youtube 😅 ive fallen into that trap too many times

Yooo, I love your videos questions What camera do you use,

Amazing content!!! One of the best on TH-cam. Keep up🫡
Do you think managing to play some video games, learn more drawing, exercising at home and learning programming for throughout days reasonable and healthy?
Good Video
unrelated to the video - ive been a subscriber since 300 subs knowing you possessed something rlly special.. we both aimed for improvement at a young age
your editing and speaking skills compared to your old videos seem so different now
youve improved, hit your goals, and everything payed off in the end
I was willing to go on a journey with u but it hurts to say that I feel like I barely changed
No matter what, just keep trying relentlessly. I don't think I'm very special unlike what you said, I just have a strong desire to improve in the things I care about. I possess something most people don't have, but if you already have a flame lit inside you (no matter how small) you can grow it into a raging fire. I know you feel like you have barely changed, but just look at how much you've grown your knowledge and appreciate the changes you have made so far. If you are here watching these videos, you genuinely are different than most people and have knowledge that most people in modern society don't have. It can be hard to know what you want to work towards at a young age, but you can search for and find your calling on this path of self-improvement. Just don't leave the path. It doesn't matter how small or slow you think your progress is right now, just never stop improving and searching, and like I always say, you'll be grateful for it later.

Hey Maxwell, it's been a month. I wanted to reply to this comment when I felt like I was a better place in life. I'm slowly getting back at it. You give much people hope to succeed including me. One day, I hope this raging fire spreads so far I exceed my limits. I will remind myself each morning, not lose my path of self improving. One day, I hope we both can both walk on pavements of gold, and prove that this wasn't just for nothing.
Hey brother, can you please create a video on increasing focus? I have been having this problem for a while, I tried to find my own solution but won't help. Tried reaching out TH-cam for advice and all they say is Monk mode, monk Mode...
A pastor once said go outside and learn the meaning of life, learn about how good & bad life is and get along with the people you don’t like because you’ll know their true personality we as people need to know what is better for us and make it happen.
i just read charlie and the chocolate factory
and somehow, a book ALL the way from 1964 actually predicted people with tiktok and scrolling today; specifically, the song of mike teavee
and how the song actually makes sense now that i can see clearly
My brain just gets bored after watching this, and don't take action. This doesn't help for everyone i think, which also is a problem
About reading i do read alot its my Hobby but i Was thinking about it for lobger time rn to delet soicals bcs most thing that got Effekted unter my Addition is my sleep when i dont sleep i skip school so everything is getting worce i really want to change that . I think the only thing that is Holding me is my online freinds . But there are so many things i want to do off soicals im willing to change These things
Im searching for an easy thrill I can replace tik tok with. Positive habits are amazing but , as a seperate conversation, what is an alternative to scrolling for when my discipline battery is depleted and I just want to rest. .. (thinking out loud). Before smartphones, people would browse a magazine...hmm, would smoke a cigarette or doodle. This inbetween "numb your mind" moments is what Im wondering about. To succesfully stop scrolling I need an activity that scratches a similar itch. Then I can work on reducing that activity too, but high will power habits isnt exactly what will replace scrolling entirely. There needs to be a passive, low E, easy task. Perhaps podcasts or series Im thinking...
Hi, so i was wondering if you could do a video where you teach us how to meditate the right way?
that's a great idea actually. I'll definitely make a video on that
There is no "right way" to meditate. Focus on your breathe and imagine your thoughts as clouds. I just continue to say "in and out" with my breathe and focus on how the breathe feels going in and out. And when a thought comes, I don't get upset and instead just say "thank you thinking" because we are going to think, that's normal, but it's training your body to center back on your breathe.
I pretend I’m floating in a river with my emotions. Bad thoughts? You drift right past them. Something you want to focus on? Pretend it’s surrounding you. There’s no right way to meditate, but there’s no harm in trying different things.
What can i do when i have the Most contact with my friends in Video Games ? (We Play every day for 2-5 h )
YOU SHOULD START A PODCAST-
After you delete social media how do you maintain contact with your friends? and also how do you meet new people that you couldn't have without social media like instagram? also how do you deal with seeing other people have people texting them over insta and snap etc when you've deleted social media?
Deleting social media doesn't mean cutting off all contact with friends. You can maintain relationships through messaging apps, phone calls, and in-person hangouts. Meeting new people without social media might require more effort, but you can join clubs, attend events, or participate in group activities related to your interests. As for dealing with the feeling of missing out when you see others getting texts on Instagram or Snapchat, remind yourself of the benefits of disconnecting and focus on building deeper connections with those around you.
What you never answer is how do you keep in contact with people if you’re against social media so much? Do you just give everyone your number?
yeah I have the phone number of all the people I care about. You probably don't really want or need to be "connected" to most of the people you would only stay in contact with through social media.
@@MaxwellRhoe I agree overall, but it must be so unique to in a spot where your vids can be seen by people you don't know but can potentially connect with.
Giving your phone number can be a privacy risk (I guess more for people you don't already know/trust) But what about if you want to expand your circle and meet new people that you don't know already irl, or you know them but aren't close enough to give them your number? Also, don't you ever have relationships fade & then want to build new ones with new people?
I'm really curious what do you do in those cases?
0:59 if that ain't the truth🫠
How do you speak so great in front of the camera
Keep doing it over and over. I now script my videos very closely to what I'm saying which helps a lot. If you look back at my old videos I sucked a speaking on camera. It's just about doing it over and over until it feels natural and you get in a flow state.

I'm sorry but im so confused because you always say to not count streak and now you say that you have to have a habit traker? so what is the diferance??
It's not about the streak with a habit tracker. It's a reminder and a way to see your progress. If you miss one day and don't mark it on the habit tracker, so what? You look at it wholistically. Like I said "It's not about the streak, it's about doing it more days than you don't." A habit tracker will allow you to see if something isn't working. For example, when I looked back at my habit tracker from the past two months I had probably only read 5 days out of 60. That was really a wake up call for me and now I'm reading almost every day.
