I’ve made a decision on getting rid of all social media for 2 years to help my walk in faith…I plan on finishing my Bible within the time, so far I’ve gotten out of my laziness and started loving myself more and happily loving the wisdom God has been letting me receive. Almost done with my second book within the Bible 🙏🏾!!!
I see you wanting to read the whole Bible and that’s a blessing but remember that you want to understand and remember key parts and moments within the Bible instead of just saying I read it. I’ll be praying for your journey 🙌🏾

Just remember this: James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. If you haven’t done so already, I would HIGHLY recommend that you keep a journal just for Bible notes and that you take notes and jot down verses that speak to you as you read. Or highlighting/ taking notes in the Bible. It’s all about reading AND applying the word of God to our lives. Whatever works for you!! God bless.
I ain't gonna lie I have for 5 years no social media, I feel so calm now. Social media is ruining everything, you see only lies, the fake perfection, fake reality, fake personality, toxic peoples etc.
I feel the same exact way when I take a few days or even weeks away from social media. Like I have life stressors however, I don't feel super over stimulated.
You can share in person!! You can be a light to your friends, coworkers, neighbors, or even the strangers at the store! Not everyone is called to ministry online. Maybe you just need a season away from it if it’s tempting you to waste time and be like the world! Remember that every walk is different my friend. Listen to how the spirit is leading you, He will show you what to do💖💖
This is exaclty my issue. I want to use it for the glory of God, but then I just end up wasting time scrolling, allowing junk to be put before my eyes. Not only instagram, but even Facebook and TH-cam. And so I'm stuck in this position where idk if I should delete my accounts or keep them and try to control the way I use them. Is that confidence in the flesh? Idk. It says in Matthew if your right hand causes you to stumble cut it off and throw it away, so that makes me think I should just delete it. But then I think about all the connections I'll be losing to share Jesus or how I can use TH-cam to learn more about God and the Bible. It's this difficult tug of war, and idk which way to go.

To help you better 1 Thessalonians 4:11 Says make it a goal to live a quiet life, minding your business and working with your hands. We are always meeting people everyday. The way you treat others daily with love. People will see how holy and a child of God you are. God called me to become a farmer. He wants to use me and on the other hand I’ve just finished my masters in Digital marketing and that means I have to be on social media. I have no choice but to go with his way. I asked God I don’t know how to be a farmer and he told me that I shouldn’t worry he will take care of it. My spiritual gift is giving. I will pray for you Marshall😊🙏🏽
@@marshallturner6085 Dudee feel the exact same way, what has helped me recently for youtube atleast is having extensions that remove recommended vids/comments (i turned off comments right now lol) and having time limits set up for social media, and someone who you trust only knows the password so you can't just click extra time (for me my mom) and sometimes just delete for a while like when you have exam season or something

I personally felt very led by the Holy Spirit to officially ditch social media for good. Ever since then I’ve never felt more present in life and closer to God. Social media can become an idol and that’s something I think can be overlooked in our generation. When you begin to measure your life through the lens of society and comparison but not by the word of God and how you feel like your relationship is with Him, it’s time to pray&act.
I agree, I felt really led by the Holy Spirit within my one year of knowing and walking with Jesus to start getting off social media. I felt like I knew more of who God was calling me to be and felt more present with God. I also had lot of peace without social media. I had so much anxiety/comparison/ ect with it. I kept being pointed to Philippians 4:8-9 on what we should be meditating and thinking on. With social media it was hard to think of these things and instead I would think of worldly issues. I do not want to get back on social media unless God speaks to me and wants me to do ministry this way.However, I feel called to step away at this time..I think Christians in this generation should know maybe some of us are not called to online ministries and that is okay. So many other ways to preach, share the gospel and to live it out so we can be light to others. I personally am able to walk in spirit better without social media distractions. I guess we all need to be led by spirit to see where God wants us ❤️🙏.
Almost 5 months strong away from social media now. Best thing that has happened to me in recent times. God is good. As I was the type of person that social media is tailoring for.
I feel u! God been telling be to get off IG for a while! As of April 2022, I no longer have it and I do not regret it. Deleted Twitter 7 years ago and FB 4 years ago. And people say “it’s all how u use social media” it seems like even if u use it for good, somehow trash just always pops up. Then, since I left it I’ve been able to focus on me and heal myself more, study Gods word and build a better relationship with God. And I’m starting to feel happier thanks be to God! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
That's interesting because I see the opposite. He's using the fake "Christian pastor voice" with those nuances. It's the same as when Cali people and young people across America put a strain in their voice. It's to hide their actual current emotions from people. It's worse because he's a Christian trying be a platform. Deceit is deceit. he needs to say what and how he actually feels with the emotions that will naturally come from him . Not suppress it and be afraid of people interpreting your frustration of one thing to another. (and no, a explanation by him would be irrelevant. You can clearly hear it in his voice as you would hear people who use the strain. It's those same fake nuances)
I was sooo deep in social media. I was soooo focused on working on my career and being ready to leave university, and have all these contacts on LinkedIn. It caused me sooo much separation from God. But taking that step back in suffering and the Holy Spirit putting to me that it’s not good. It was taking me away from God. We, as young people, need to take that step away from social media. Like Alex said “Be on social media. Not of social media.”
Social media is the devil’s playground. I deleted all except TH-cam and Pinterest because those apps are both beneficial. I’ve been social media free for three years now. Happy and never going back. I am thinking of creating a website for my work but that’s about it.

I've been so lazy lately and that has resulted in anxiety, depressing that I am unable to be active again as I was after born again , but I have decided to active my mind, my body and my soul...feeding them all and now I am not gonna look back to my lazy self and feed on God's word! Maybe he’s not calling you specifically to use it as a platform if it gives you so much anxiety? We don’t all have to spread the gospel the same way or in big numbers online.

Very good points. For a while I’ve been consumed with social media, just aimlessly scrolling with no real purpose. I’ve recently been trying to take a step back and not be consumed by it. I’m going to be working at a Christian Summer Camp in Texas this summer for the first time, and I partially felt motivated to do so cause of your videos. I’ve learned a lot with you and I felt convicted to spread the gospel to Gods children. I’m not going to have access to social media most of the time, so that will help reset my mindset towards social media. Don’t know if you’ll ever see this comment, but thank you for being a positive spiritual influence to some random teenager over the internet.

i love this video. you explained everything so well :) one thing i do wanna say that God is revealing to me about my generation (Gen Z) i’m a 20 yr old girl btw. is that God knows your heart behind EVERYTHING. so if you’re on social media and you see all these christian influencers and you wanna share this and that. that’s great! but God truly knows your heart behind what you’re posting those things for and if you’re starting to get a lot of followers and “clout” for sharing the gospel but you actually don’t know Jesus and you’re not doing it with reverence that most of these christian influencers don’t have… you won’t make it to heaven and Jesus will say “Not everyone who calls me their Lord will get into the kingdom of heaven. Only the ones who obey my Father in heaven will get in. On the day of judgment many will call me their Lord. They will say, “We preached in your name, and in your name we forced out demons and worked many miracles.” But I will tell them, “I will have nothing to do with you! Your video came up on my feed. Today, I prayed to God to help me overcome my addiction to social media. I would see how many saw what I put out and try to talk to people for lustful intent. It was killing me on the inside. Thank you so much for this message and you mentioning why people take selfies…that is so true. I’ve recently been struggling with depression and I thank God for the community he blessed me with. And I love that I really encourage prayer you know? Like coming to the front if you need prayer so you’re not suffering alone and in silence, me getting up and going for prayer took guts but I listened to those nudges and this past Sunday actually, we had a prayer evening and I wasn’t going to go to the front but i suddenly felt as though I wanted to cry and one of the elders came and mentioned something so specific This moment was special to me because I wanted to speak in tongues but a deeper problem was addressed and I feel like because of that I felt this constant need to be validated by Instagram and TikTok….and yeah now I’m really straying away from that. I do want to take a 6 month Social media detox so I’m going to disable my accounts so I can really look to God. So I ask that you guys pray for me to stay consistent with that…

As a teen in this world its hard to do things like deleting social media since we were born into this era of modern technology. I've been struggling with this decision myself for quite a while and have deleted my insta hoping an improvement in the quality of my life. although at the back of my mind i miss it terribly. This was very enlightening - I was working 40! Hours a week on my channel for over two years and then when I announced the upcoming release of my spiritual memoir testimony TH-cam shut my channel town without warning or valid reason. I'm 63 and alone so I felt cut off but also relieved because I have been obsessed with it - getting burnt out but I also felt like a failure - some distance opened me up to other social media options which might actually be easier to promote my book - it's difficult though because I feel like everyone is on TH-cam. I'm now on Dailymotion and Facebook but maybe that is better ,- yet I feel social media is so all consuming - I want to have more time with Jesus but I could not sleep all night and ended up watching TH-cam til five in the morning I could have been praying - I think the loneliness is overbearing at times so TH-cam is an escape.

This is so true!! I listened to the becoming something episode on social media and echoed the same things. God has been making me aware of what I use it for and if what I'm using it for is beneficial. Moving forward I want to be more intentional with it and use it to reflect my walk with God instead of being self absorbed.

Idk if I agree that someone posting a selfie is a bad thing. I post selfies and it's not for validation or anything bad. I am full of joy and always wanna put a message with it so people get a message and also see God's glory in my eyes and smile.

I tried logging in a week ago and the site blocked me for security so i think God is saying not yet....iam on YT and my church community whats app and that enough. I deleted all my social media recently after feeling convicted by God and it's so freeing. If I had a business that needed promotion then I would hire a team of people to run it for me as Now That I'm A Family channel does. It's a good balance between having an online presence and not having to personally engage with it, if you choose not to.

I want to do this.. the only thing stopping me is that my testimony is literally SO large on social media. Most of the information I get of God and the motivation I get is from other children of His online, since I am surrounded by lukewarms and atheists in real life. However I think maybe now I can stop social media for quite a while to walk in my faith since yesterday I have repented again and this time I feel like it's actually serious and not just a vow without action. Thanks for sharing these thoughts brother - in the world, but not of it. When I came off social media for a while, my creativity came back, my dullness of mind disappeared, and I was able to connect with God and have deep spiritual thoughts. Will we be content creators, or consumers?

I got rid of social media a while ago for self confidence reasons and it’s really helped.
Same less likely to be tempted as well without all that trash being seen and heard

That's interesting because I see the opposite. He's using the fake "Christian pastor voice" with those nuances. It's the same as when Cali people and young people across America put a strain in their voice. It's to hide their actual current emotions from people. It's worse because he's a Christian trying be a platform. Deceit is deceit. he needs to say what and how he actually feels with the emotions that will naturally come from him . Not suppress it and be afraid of people interpreting your frustration of one thing to another.

I was sooo deep in social media. I was soooo focused on working on my career and being ready to leave university, and have all these contacts on LinkedIn. It caused me sooo much separation from God. But taking that step back in suffering and the Holy Spirit putting to me that it’s not good. It was taking me away from God. We, as young people, need to take that step away from social media. Like Alex said “Be on social media. Not of social media.”
Social media is the devil’s playground. I deleted all except TH-cam and Pinterest because those apps are both beneficial. I’ve been social media free for three years now. Happy and never going back. I am thinking of creating a website for my work but that’s about it.

I want social media but I don’t. I keep it because it’s like something I can lay back on if things aren’t going well right here right now in my real life🤦🏼♀

Very good points. For a while I’ve been consumed with social media, just aimlessly scrolling with no real purpose. I’ve recently been trying to take a step back and not be consumed by it. I’m going to be working at a Christian Summer Camp in Texas this summer for the first time, and I partially felt motivated to do so cause of your videos. I’ve learned a lot with you and I felt convicted to spread the gospel to Gods children. I’m not going to have access to social media most of the time, so that will help reset my mindset towards social media. Don’t know if you’ll ever see this comment, but thank you for being a positive spiritual influence to some random teenager over the internet.

Thank you so much for this message and you mentioning why people take selfies…that is so true. I’ve recently been struggling with depression and I thank God for the community he blessed me with. And I love that I really encourage prayer you know? Like coming to the front if you need prayer so you’re not suffering alone and in silence, me getting up and going for prayer took guts but I listened to those nudges and this past Sunday actually, we had a prayer evening and I wasn’t going to go to the front but i suddenly felt as though I wanted to cry and one of the elders came and mentioned something so specific
This moment was special to me because I wanted to speak in tongues but a deeper problem was addressed and I feel like because of that I felt this constant need to be validated by Instagram and TikTok….and yeah now I’m really straying away from that.
I do want to take a 6 month Social media detox so I’m going to disable my accounts so I can really look to God. So I ask that you guys pray for me to stay consistent with that…

This was very enlightening - I was working 40! Hours a week on my channel for over two years and then when I announced the upcoming release of my spiritual memoir testimony TH-cam shut my channel town without warning or valid reason. I'm 63 and alone so I felt cut off but also relieved because I have been obsessed with it - getting burnt out but I also felt like a failure - some distance opened me up to other social media options which might actually be easier to promote my book - it's difficult though because I feel like everyone is on TH-cam. I'm now on Dailymotion and Facebook but maybe that is better ,- yet I feel social media is so all consuming - I want to have more time with Jesus but I could not sleep all night and ended up watching TH-cam til five in the morning I could have been praying - I think the loneliness is overbearing at times so TH-cam is an escape.

This is so true!! I listened to the becoming something episode on social media and echoed the same things. God has been making me aware of what I use it for and if what I'm using it for is beneficial. Moving forward I want to be more intentional with it and use it to reflect my walk with God instead of being self absorbed.

Idk if I agree that someone posting a selfie is a bad thing. I post selfies and it's not for validation or anything bad. I am full of joy and always wanna put a message with it so people get a message and also see God's glory in my eyes and smile.
When things got political and our church sadly split in 2020, I saw the poison of social media. Closed accounts and live free.
I don't have Twitter Instagram or Facebook but I have TH-cam and amen podcast and hear from me is a comfortable quiet space and I thank you so much for your hard work

I tried logging in a week ago and the site blocked me for security so i think God is saying not yet....iam on YT and my church community whats app and that enough. If God allows us me to get social media again is to share the good news of Jesus that's it. 👌

I deleted all my social media recently after feeling convicted by God and it's so freeing. If I had a business that needed promotion then I would hire a team of people to run it for me as Now That I'm A Family channel does. It's a good balance between having an online presence and not having to personally engage with it, if you choose not to.
