    excellent job! it’s great how the volume of the bike is very low but still audible while your voice is very clear and at the a great volume. this tech aspect combined with the very clear explanation on how to use the colortune really makes an enjoyable and useful video. thanks guys!

    Thanks guys iv had a 2 smoke rebuild done found these on ebay wasn't sure if it's worth the money but you showed me they are. I have varying carbs to try on my bike and quick colortune on all means I can tell easially which carb is better for me performance wise before nipping with the quickest carb to the dyno. Thanks again

    IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT TORQUE the color tune like the stock plug. Only hand tight.

      IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT TORQUE the spark plugs anyway!

    Had no clue such a thing existed. Always heard about the plug chop method but it is quite tricky for a novice such as myself. Good vid!

    This is sort of tuning your carb the easy way by following the color guide that comes with the kit, very ingenious and seems fairly simple, but sometimes things like this tend to give me a hard time, even though I think I'm following the instructions to the tee

    • @pontiacpanic79
      @pontiacpanic79 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nickjaxe I don’t see why not. I have only used these on 4cycle engines but it should work just fine on a 2 cycle

    I have an old Color tune model 500, 14 mm. I'm wanted to buy another and it looks to me like the G 4074 would be correct for my 63 Jag XKE 3.8 litre. Question. Does the model 500 and the G 4074 have the electrode at the same depth? In other words what is the difference between the two? If I buy the G 4074 will both give the same reading?

      worth every penny. I got 2- one for each side

  • @isbemorph

    I'm wondering if there is any difference in color tuning between these two setups:
    14mm colortune+12mm adapter VS 12mm colortune. In the first case there is a change in a compression ratio and the spark is like 2-3cm further then factory one, sounds like a big difference but don't know. Anyone did test that, appreciate the response.

    • @isbemorph
      @isbemorph 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      alright i've tested it and colortune with an adapter seems to be working perfectly fine, like there is no difference for the engine if the spark is firing further then stock.

    fascinating! - never seen this device before. i have an XS650, 83, with pod filters, new plugs, cables, spark plug caps and new hotter coil. I have to use starting fluid to get idle and if i turn the accelerator just a bit it dies. any thoughts?? tx

      Rob Weaver idle jets are probably clogged. ??? But remove all Jets.... Polk and clean all the holes...

    I love the way British people pronounce "garage". It almost sounds like they started saying "cabbage"... On topic, I bought a ColorTune because the idea sounded really good but using it on motorcycles with deep plug wells.....not easy. Also seeing the flame/combustion is not that clear.

    should u always syncronize the carbs before colortuning ? or after also?

    Does this really work good? It's not really the same reving the bike with no load as riding the bike or is it? Some people also say colortune doesn't work with CV carbs while others say they do.

    • @dowser81
      @dowser81 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      they clearly said at the start of the video that this was just a rough tune to get you rolling before you got the bike dynod and colortune manages that perfectly

    • @myshitonyoutube
      @myshitonyoutube 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You really don't need this tool for that.

    where can i get that type of plug and will it work for a two stroke

    • @ricksimpson2167
      @ricksimpson2167 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      SHANE DICOCHEA sent you have to mix oil with your gas probably not as accurate. You must use the exact same oil and amount.... And tuned to that brand and mixture. ??? A little extra oil in the fuel is a bad bad ideal.... I use MC1. From Honda... 5 gallon premix...... Added to 5 gallons and 1 quart of 93 octane gas.... Thoroughly clean your exhaust flapper... It will be packed in carbon and not open properly.... Install new rings wrist pin. Roller bearing. And C.. clips. Before tuning....

    • @ricksimpson2167
      @ricksimpson2167 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your bike smokes... Foul spark plugs.... You need new crank seals. !!!! You're burning transmission oil. ????

    • @ricksimpson2167
      @ricksimpson2167 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep a rubber plug... In the exhaust..... When not riding for storing for winter. !!!

    Anyone who knows what is the point with the 14mm long reach adapter?
    My first thoght was to use it plug holes with long tread, but hat dont make sence, the spark will be even longer from the combustion chamber, and there is no reason to lower the compression even more.

      the extension connects to the plug wire so it out of the way of spar view

    yes I will buys this color tune, strange how an old invention is still not common knowledge,what about the obvious mis firing, surely mis fires wear the engine, try replacing the points and condenser with an Accuspark system,
