@@2nmingowait what? Is my comment section bugged or are you talking about that dude that uploads bangers on youtube shorts? I was literally watching his video 😮
These solos aren’t just playing scales. Here is just crystal music with knowledge of all these difficult chords and every single note which have been to play to sound beautiful!
Not a single chord in amazing grace is harder than Day 1 guitar lessons. Also, I think people parrot that "wow he no play the scales, so good"...but, that isn't true, and really...kinda not possible. I've noticed the sentiment, usually, comes from people who are pretty new to guitar/music, or don't play at all and somehow want to equate interesting solos to not using those dirty dirty scales that only bad players do. Nah. Scales are made up of chord tones and non chord tones. There is 1 scale, in essence, the major scale. Now, they are built by starting on the root note you want and then go up at the intervals required to build the scale you want. The basic most important to remember is Whole Whole Half Whole Whole whole half. Wholes are a full step up (2 frets) and halves are For instance, I want my track in F, so First fret on first string , (the top one...aka the thick one lol...I have so many people around me that use different names for Fat E haha) then up 2 frets G, 2 more to A, then half step to Bflat... continue it to get C D E F. Those are the notes in F major. Now, say you want Minor instead, then you look at your scale notes from Major...and lower notes 3 and 5 by half step. Not any real reason to go gungho with the whole learning every single scale and shit. Major scale only, raise or lower the intervals you need to change from Major to whatever else. Some scales need 4 or 5 notes flattened...some need only a single note changing a half step. So yeah, scales are always used in solos, one way or another...obviously the more practiced and passionate player will figure out how to use scale knowledge as a loose ish guide line, track if you will, to create melodies. Some players never get there tho, because they are not being shown or taught anything...so they run the scale shape over and over and over, in the same order each time. That can, and does, cause muscle memory to kick in and all of a sudden their solo goes from ok ish devolving into shite cause they are just barfing out "right" notes only...which causes it to sound monotonous and devoid of anything close to melody. Studying Jazz, even without playing an instrument, is so so cool and interesting and fun. You realize, after close listening and analysis, that the best players are using right notes, but in such a smaller dose, because notes outside the scale make interest. Tension and release theory. You can find and learn 100 ways to add non scale tones to ur lines , like... approach notes and enclosures around your target chord tone. You also use scales to make chords. Yeah idk. I just hate seeing comments that belittle scale playing. It's not a good thought habit to have at the beginning. Plus, I've listened to Robben Fords live performances thru the years and have noticed a good handful of times that he is running the scale in the generic ascending manner to connect his 1 and 4 chord in a blues. It sounds good. I can take a scale and play a 1 chord vamp backing track, then sit there and make good, catchy lines with only scale tones. That's not illegal, but it's not too easy and it is good way to learn an amazing habit for playing... Restrict yourself to only a handful of notes. Then sing a lyric from your favorite song. Listen to the singer, note his melody. Then try and use your couple notes to emulate the vocalist. Derek Trucks is great at it, as well as Jerry Garcia. This exercise will show you how unnecessary 100s of fast notes are, and will open your ear and mind to the fact that phrasing is a top 3 important thing to develop. Listen to Aretha Franklin tunes and try and copy her vocal melody on your instrument

You know… I love extremely fast, powerful and epic solos that make me feel like I’m some kind of superhuman listening to them but… those kinda jams… they’re really what I like the most
Dude. You're the best guitar player we've ever heard. No one else wants to tell you that though. They'll admit it if you happen to die unexpectedly, but not as long as you're alive. It's called jealousy. smh
