Just installed the game a couple weeks ago, I have 110 hours in the past two weeks! I've stumbled around in the Easy Earth start campaign, antagonizing the pirates across the way while I try to figure out how to build and use a ship to take them out! Now here I find your glorious tutorial that even in part 1 I've learned a couple things, so thank you! You've got a good teacher brain in you, covering all the processes and steps, excellent work! I'll be watching the whole series.
This is a fantastic tutorial that makes this game look a lot less intimidating. I've been interested in the game since I saw the multiplayer ship battles mod. The idea of designing your own space dreadnaught and testing it out in battle is very appealing.
Appealing and Frightening.. haha. If you play in Survival, you literally see your hard work being shot into pieces. 😂 The advantage of Blueprints is that you can easily rebuild or even repair your ship (with Projectors). Still, in Survival you need to go and get the resources to build. I do enjoy playing this - I can see why people like it, but also why it is not as popular as it deserves to be.
Hey! I've currently got 2500h on SE and I just love watching other peoples takes on the game. This is one of the best tutorials for newbies that I have seen. Great work! Liked and subbed! Looking forward to more Beeblebum! 😉
Thank you! 😊 I am still pretty new about this as well, but I hope with my video guides, I can interest some other players in SE. I will be working on more guides for sure! 😊👍
You Sir, have to be a teacher in real life. After having a few hundred hours in this game after 10 years and still getting back to it once in a while, not knowing/remembering what to do, your tutorials are very very very usefull to me. Just "Splitsie" quality. Chapeau!! Maybe an up to date view on some good & popular workshop survival scenario's some day?
Thanks for making this tutorial, you going over the HUD and the different versions really helps. It was getting frustrated with the game tutorial, and other YT sort of skip on explaining the super basic stuff and i was getting lost without even starting. I followed your structions to a T and finally i can breath in relief.
The biggest roadblock, at least for me, that kept me from playing this game, was that I couldn't figure out how to access the stuff I just picked up. For instance, I picked up a pistol in the First Jump scenario, and then couldn't for the life of me find out where it went to and how to put it on my toolbar so I could use it. Thank Buddha for Beeblebum!
I bought this game last night. I think my brain is going to crash trying to learn all the key combinations. I'm sure this video will come in handy and answer a lot of questions. Thanks!
They changed how the P 'parking' key works, it no longer unlocks every connector it can find! :) It used to be such a pain, that many of us have parking unbound and handbrake using hotkeys instead... You can't build a solar panel as your first power source in earth survival, you need the basic assembler to make the bulletproof glass, wind turbine is the only earth planet starting power option. In theory one turbine won't run a basic assembler, basic refinery, some pistons, a drill and a H2/O2 generator - but in practice it will.... :) You won't really need a second turbine for a while, but adding a battery is good! The power fluctuations don't have a significant impact on refining/assembling... As a fresh player, the earth pod start is a good idea.. The moon and space pod starts are labelled as high difficulty by the game, but once you have the hang of the game, moon and space starts are easier... The 'difficulty' applies to learning the game, not playing it! :D Earth has free oxygen and easy energy, but those aren't big issues once you have the hang of things... Earth has no platinum or uranium, which limits what you can do there... I like playing from an earth pod, because it slows down my ability to jump directly to high-tech stuff, forcing me to use hydrogen rockets and low-tech options.... Great detail in this tutorial!! Nice work...
I started in alpha, have 900+ hours, and just learned of the Building Planner tool. This is amazing. I've been away from the game a few years so I'm not sure if it's been added to the game or if I just missed it but boy howdy would it have been handy. I thought I'd brush up with a video and glad I came across this. I agree with @Dagonius. I love seeing how other people play the game because, as you said, there isn't a lot of direction. Your video is an excellent tool for starting up. Now I just have to get used to planets again lol.
yo your entire beginner series actually saved me and my friends so much time, if i were gay i'd give you the sloppiest fattest kiss on the lips bro you are such a legend and an amazing teacher.
The Spawn Point will be your Drop pod in the beginning, until you build another survival kit or medbay - You can actually see me doing this in the 2nd part of this series. 😊
I have been playing SE for a few years now. I decided to check out your content to see if it helps newbies and I rate this A+! Kleen should link to this in the game menu! You didn't mention opening your visor in an Oxegyn environment to save Oxegyn using the keyboard [J]. I don't know the console button.
Thank you! 😊 The closing or opening helmet does not make a difference anymore though.. I can keep my helmet closed, and not lose any O2 from my suit. 😊
Hey @BeebleBum ! I'm having an issue with the assembler and basic refiner not connecting. I saw a comment that you replied to say that someone else in the comments solved the issue, but I can't find them so I think they deleted their comment. Do you know how to solve it? Thanks! FYI: I play on Xbox. Edit: Wait nevermind nevermind just figured it out!
I actually like the progression myself - but I know many are not a big fan of it. I believe it could definitely use some refining to make it more interesting, but overall, its not bad.
If you placed the assembler and refinery same as I did, which means with the ports connected, then you should have linked inventories. However, if you run out of power, inventories will not interact - Be sure to have enough power sources to make everything run.
It can happen the pod does not land correctly on the terrain, so it rolls instead of locking the landing pad. You can keep re-spawning until the pod lands properly. (On Keyboard, that is done with pressing F5)
I am not sure what you mean with "world creating"... In this video I choose "Custom Game" then select "Star System" from the left column. Then when I start the game, I get the window with the Spawn options.
@@Beeblebum ye sorry didn't see ur reply but I meant I don't get the spawn options it just automatically spawns me in space with the starter ship but I fixed it now by reinstalling the game
It is a challenge to get it.. especially within the game - I hope this guide gives you a good headstart to figure it out. Once I got passed the initial learning curve, I fell in love with it.
Oh, man... At 12:50 I heard "I have two options: I can eat a d**k, or I can mine." I had to rewind it a couple of times before I realized you said "I can either dig, or I can mine." Jeez, my hearing is getting really bad!
Lol... I know what you mean... Even I, who makes content for a living has to consider my time and which game to play... And SE is definitely a time sink!
guys this guide is a somewhat inefficient . ul waste valuable time here. i highly advise to firstly scout and try to find a cobalt deposit and mine down to it. the stone u get when mining down to the ore vein is what u can use for ur initial materials (you will always get Fe, Si, Ni) from stone thats the reason i said to get a cobalt deposit first and not none of the others mentioned - ul get them from stone anyway. cobalt is the only key ore thats needed for many things that you cant get from stone. also why i said cobalt over gold, silver or other deposits is because those ores are more needed for mid to late game. i repeat do not....DO NOT simply dig into the ground simply for the sake of stone. colossal waste of time. always be digging towards an ore vein, ul get plenty of stone from that already.
IMO leaving progression, drones, and weather on is not a very good idea for beginning players. New players should be focusing on the build mechanics first before things like extra progression mechanics and weather related events are introduced. The vanilla settings in the advanced menu are for returning players and aren't that good for new ones.
It used to be that the unwelded blocks did not have their full efficiency, apparently after so many updates there are such changes that it would have to be checked. As you can see, even an experienced player can learn something new find out.
The tutorial of this game really isn't all that great. I am lucky you did this because starting new and troubleshooting with a bare crasp of the concepts sucks
Thanks!
Hey Thank you for the Super Thanks! ❤️️

Of the "beginning" guides that i (newb) have watched, this one helped me the most, and it wasn't even close. Tyty.

Thanks beebs! I did end up picking this up today. Glad to see you have a tutorial.
Thank you so much for this … I want to love this game but I have no clue what I’m doing … and you are helping in every way

Awesome job. Thank you so much. This is incredibly helpful for a new player!!!
Great to hear! 😊
Very good! Liked this a lot. Time to start for my self.
that looks so cool
Great tutorial and narration. Thank you.

Thanks for the Tutorial, really useful :)
it looks so interesting and i wanted to play but no tutorial so i only managed to crash few ship this is very helpefull
Amazing job on this tutorial
Thank you for this in-depth and concise video tutorial. O7
Great tutorial, well explained. 🙂
Great video! How do I spawn back though after logging out? What do I build for a spawn point?
The Spawn Point will be your Drop pod in the beginning, until you build another survival kit or medbay - You can actually see me doing this in the 2nd part of this series. 😊
Great guide thankyou i was looking to get this game on ps5 this will help alot👍
Best guide 🎉🎉🎉
Just FYI, now you gotta pick the medium container from your toolbar config / you cannot cycle between small - medium - large anymore.
Really? I did not notice the change.
I really can't thank u enough ! ❤
Excellent tutorial. If it wasn't for mixing up vertical and horizontal movement keys with the jetpack. :)
Yeah.. I realized that later when the video was released - not sure how I mixed it up.. lol
awesome tutorial helped a lot but for some reason I can't get my assembler and refiner to connect or just work together(I'm on playstation)
Cheers! Check in the comments, Jonas Seese had the same issue and figured it out in his last reply.
Very helpful
Very helpful tutorial 😀
Nice work. Splitsie's old tutorials have some competition, I'd say. =^.^=
Looks fun
12:47 I choked on my drink at first lol
Could you do one of these for Xbox after the pc tutorial
I don't have an Xbox... haha.
I do have a PS5 on my wishlist.. 😅

Wish there's a guide for ps cuz I'm really having trouble on these but really badly wanna play
Sadly I have no PS5 (yet) It is on my wish list, but not a priority.
If I one day got one - I will try and make a PlayStation Guide for it.
My fav nms guy 😂

Is progression option is annoying? It's seems to. But if it's actually fun, i might turn it on my game. What is your opinion, guys?

I believe it could definitely use some refining to make it more interesting, but overall, its not bad.
@@Beeblebum I started with it, thanks! :D
This game is fun so far! :D And thank to you i more or less know what to do!
are you going to update the tutorial with the new dlc contact dlc
I done the asembler and refinery like youve done but it dosen seem to have the linked iventory
If you placed the assembler and refinery same as I did, which means with the ports connected, then you should have linked inventories.

@Beeblebum I'm on ps the controls are abit odd but figured it out
Ok, so built a drill rig, but when I float over to the cargo box, I can't withdraw my stone😮
One thing every tutorial ive watched of early game doesn't mention how much mining is required. A ton of time in the mine.
What am i doing wrong my landing pod hits the ground and just keeps rolling
It can happen the pod does not land correctly on the terrain, so it rolls instead of locking the landing pad.
